I’ve recently started working through my panic with JT methods. I’ve noticed a huge difference in staying in the moment until the shot breaks. You mention knowing deep down that you didn’t do it right on a shot execution: I did that today at my practice for Louisville. I shot X’s, but still shook my head saying “I didn’t do it right, come back and stay in it”. The Pro I train with, and I call it “Alvin and the chipmunks came in at the last second”. 🙄🥴. Great video!! Subbed…🕺🏻😎

Hey guys, thanks alot for sharing that is helpful for WW archers, like me - a frenchy.
I’ve been struggling and say trying to cure a target panic for years, on longbow.
I come from classic + clicker on which as Joel stresses out I am essentially not touched by TP - though I figured out how to reinforce the situation listening to tou guys, being to weak on my decision. So thanks already for that!
I restarted recently on compound and happened to choose a back tension stan release - Bodie’s config before 9. And even if I’m escaping the X most times, I’m fine with it, I remain in the 9/10 and I just enjoy the process.
On longbow, I’m back at the point where I can draw, align, pause and take a decision…. But I have not figured out the proper process then. So I’m still half way.
Joel: what do you tell to yourself and what creates the surprise shot for longbow shooters, without clicker?
Thanks again for sharing all this already, greeting from France, Baptiste

The YT channel bow only outdoors has a video on curing target panic. He basically teaches you how to train yourself using a surprise release and focussing on the target instead of the pin. I'm still working out to 20 yds. but it seems to be working pretty well. I'm curious how much more practical instruction Joel has to offer beyond that.

Joel’s program goes much deeper into the problem and is well worth the work!

@@thealtitudeshow One thing that I've heard him talk about that really helped is accepting that the pin is always going to be dancing around the bullseye but is always returning to it, accepting that, just watching it happen and pulling through a surprise release. Hugely important concept.

Yes!! There is another video on our channel of him talking about just that!

@@thealtitudeshow $250 is a lot for an instructional program but I do believe it would be worth it. Thanks for the great content!

It is. But it just depends how much you value your shot execution. Most of us spend all year getting ready. Including spending thousands of dollars. Then botch the shot. Thanks and Best of luck!!!!

Stay with the Jiu-jitsu. It's hard. Very hard, but it gets easier and you will progress. Training 6 years/Purple belt.
