That is pretty amazing. I thought it was calcite that was attacked from peroxide but didn't realize quartz reacted as well. You certainly have shown some pretty stunning crystalized gold in your videos. GD
I'm also a big fan of Dave from goldbay I bought a number of his products and I I have never been disappointed once. If he ever decides to sell some of his quartz best men's like the ones in his videos I wouldn't mind buying some of those!
Cool video but it would have been much cooler if you would have shown the rock prior to submerging it in the peroxide either way though good video man keep up the good work
I have a small gold sample have removed alot of iron stone with alibrite but now seems to have stoped, will hydrogen peroxide at 6% remove anymore of the rock, and not attack the gold
Howard hawley i've got tons tons of gold and silver Palladium and Platinum Ore. Has lots of copper in it as well. If you're interested in any private message me or email me at jayt42047@gmail.com I can send you pictures or even some small samples. Very high-grade ore
What appears to be a chemical reaction is merely the decomposition of the H2O2 into H20 + O2 + heat, it is not "boiling". Metallic and organic compounds act to catalyze the decomposition, which releases heat, which further catalyzes the decomposition until you get the violent reaction. There may be some slight chemical reaction with the reduced sulfide compounds and oxygen, but for the most part the rock is simply being cleaned with hot steam. It would be interesting to know how hot the solution reached before being spent.

He's trying to chemically reduce the worthless minerals around the native gold, so that when it's done all you have is a lattice of gold in a specimen form. These (specimens) are far more valuable to collectors and have a greater value than the intrinsic value of the gold in it's weight. Using a chemical like peroxide is safe because gold is Noble and will not dissolve or react in peroxide alone. But if it were to be mixed with HCL then that would be a different story. But in this case only the minerals around the gold will dissolve. Even the silver will be left behind, because nitric acid isn't being used.
you mention HCl and perox. I have alot of sulfides that have gold. I have 3 very old mines and alot of tailings. I want to get the gold from the sulfides, roasting takes to long, then smelting. Can I dissolve the gold from sulfides with HCl&perox then percip the gold back with zinc? I am in a area thats hard to get certain chem's. Also the peroxide I can get is only 3% how can I get that percent higher to use? Boil to evap. water? If you know of HCl&perox. Vethod could you let me know? Thanks
That's cool fam. Keep on having fun getting that au. Gold Squad Out!!!
I love how you mention the temperature outside as if it might have boiled had it been hot enough

That amount of gold was incredible

-Stone soup.
Arsenic smels like garlic, sulfur smels like rotten eggs...
That's a great observation! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
I have some specimens that I think hold some kind of gold MIXED with other minerals. Or copper, etc. Hopefully it will work on them too...
So the remaining lequide is sulfuric acid?
I love the smell of arsenic in the morning 😂😂😂
Yup there is arsenic for sure, a few steps more from moving to next world, I love when amateurs playing Einstein🤣🤣

I purchased 35% food safe peroxide but don't get the reaction that u get. I have quartz in my gold help. Edd
Hydrofluoric acid is the only known chemical that effectively dissolves quartz, glass and other silicates.
What would happen if you put the liquid into a fisher in the rock will it eat its way to the bottom
Sir I have some this type gold stone . Can you help me how to eject gold from stone
I wanted to see it flipped over
Sir which chemical is used for smelting silver ore

Awesome reaction
kinda cool, will have to try that
So glad I found this vid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Watching that peroxide get aggressive the way it did I'd be too afraid that It might do something to the gold

yes, and was and didnt show it

hi..is the peroxide dissolving quartz or calcite? learner rocky here
Calcite. It will also dislodge the gold so you have to watch it closely if you are doing this for specimin reasons.

What would happen if you use a higher % of hydrogen peroxide
faster reactionbut not as effective as it would boil out faster.
Wow nice
does it work on regular quartzite
No, metallic minerals only
Is that dissolving quartz
no, cannot dissolve quartz the only thing to dissolve quartz is hydrofluoric acid
Copper makes the reaction stronger
The gold acts as a catalyst to speed up the decomposition of of H2O2.
Try 99% Peroxide on a Silver grid and see what happens ;) It's neat
Where did you possibly get 99% pure hydrogen peroxide...? Not likely in the United States

Arsenic is very bad mmmkay. Dont be near it without a proper cartridge in a gas mask.
So it really is a fossilized part of a giant. Makes sense that it was blood and tissue at one time
I don't think you every say what you are doing this for
Julie Dancliff Whittemore there isn't enough information in what you are doing. All I know is that the solution is 30% hydrogen peroxide.
