Since 2002, Demon Hunter has been & remains one of my favorite bands, let alone metal bands.
Same here. Favorite band since '02 when I stole 'Screams of the Undead' and 'Infected' off of the file sharing site 'WinMx' (I don't do that anymore, and it was only several songs). Went on to purchase the CD, then every one after. Unfortunately I have still never seen them play live.

Yes the definition of this would definitely be White Metal! There’s actually quite a handful of White Metal bands out there but not as many as normal Black Metal bands.

I just discovered demon hunter a couple days ago and by God have I been missing out. I've played lesser God's atleast 30 times in the past few days and have started to devour their other songs as well. So far, I haven't been disappointed by a single song and it looks like this definitely has the potential to become one of my favorite bands ever.
Be sure to check out their earlier stuff. The first two albums are some of their best stuff in my opinion.
Discovered them when they wear teasing extremist and it may be because of that timing but extremist is my favorite so far but peace/war is super close. The way they composed these were fantastic and they've don't a great job maturing as a band yet their older stuff holds so well.
My favorite album is Storm the Gates of Hell, followed closely by Extremist. Been listening to Demon Hunter for more than a little while now and they just get better and better as they mature. Definitely my favorite band. Welcome to the Blessed Resistance!
My favorite album of theirs is True Defiance. Be sure to check that one out!! Although there's a pretty even spread of which albums are peoples' favorites, so the take away is they are all exceptional in different ways.

now im a morning person. I feel healthier, my family likes me more, im not constantly in trouble looking at an upcoming courtcase (that does wonders for your psyche in itself). Im no longer affected by the depressant substance. I have started my own business, im now sober. I go to concerts sober and I CAN REMEMBER THE WHOLE SHOW!!!! GO FIGURE :) I show up to meetings on time.......NOW I CAN HAVE IMPORTANT MEETINGS WITH PEOPLE! lol
I no longer have to drink to play my guitar. Its been a long hard road out of there too. Had to learn to play and express myself all over again without alcohol.
Im sure other people can drink and enjoy themselves, and thats okay thats fine, more power to them good for them. But not me:
when i drink, I break out in handcuffs. glad its over.

Gotta say, I really love this video. I feel like a lot of metal music videos show all the members playing with like the drums on fire or something, but this really brings out the vocals and makes you think about the lyrics. Not really stuff I see too often with metal groups and its awesome.

It hits a harder now that I'm in my early 30's and my body is starting to break down and deteriorate itself. It's a stage of life I can feel. I can't say enough good things about DH's ballads/melodic songs. Always breathtaking. My favorite band of all time

I always come to Demon Hunter to get that inspiration boost to write my Survival Horror novels.
I feel like this song is about the end times. Like how in the end we have a choice: die for your faith, or bow to the ways of the world. So relevant in these times where everything's fallen apart.

As a non-Christian, I have a theory:
The song is a war cry. The visuals depicting various Pagan images (perverted for horrific effect) serve as representations of the enemies Anglican-Saxons would have faced during English expansion. The chorus acts as a call to arms in a historical facade.
I like this interpretation.
The Anglos and Saxons were once Pagans too, before the Romans adopted that Middle Eastern religion you praise and persecuted everyone who didn't follow it.
The title and song makes me feel like it's a bit demeaning, despite each religion believing in a higher power it's almost like they're saying they are the ones who believe in the true god, which to be honest is a bit funny when being Christian is mostly depicted as being empathetic towards each other

I just... what can you say? This encapsulates all the reasons I love Demon Hunter. Nuanced and thought provoking lyrics, musically excellent, and music videos that always engage and supplement song meanings, while being visually striking (as is all Demon Hunter visual art). And it doesn't hurt that Lesser Gods runs in the vein of some of my favorite songs like Gasoline, I Play Dead, etc., in terms of having melodic verses w/ a hard vocals chorus instead of the normal reverse formula for most DH songs. Thanks as always!
