  • This is a complete guide to doing graphics. It is very long, yes but it is very detailed and uploaded on youtube and dirtbikemagazine.com for you to use as a reference when you are doing graphics. Obviously this is a Yamaha and probably the most difficult bike out there right now to do besides the Honda so this should have all the problems you may encounter with any other machine.

I used this method and my graphics/decals came out like a professional SX mechanic put them on.!! :-} Been doing it incorrectly for years with just trying to align and put on with it being sticky. Love how the Windex or glass cleaner of choice gives you the thin layer to move it around and get it aligned prior to begin working in the decal. Great to know going forward.

Yes! This is the proper way to apply graphics, using windex will allow you to not screw up. Thanks for uploading this video! :D

I followed your tips for installing my graphics and it totally worked! I suck at putting even basic stickers on anything but this method worked even for me. There was no way I would have put these graphics on as well as I did dry. Thanks for the vid!

contact cleaner absorbs thru skin, as do most solvents, wear nitrite gloves to avoid exposure.
they also keep skin oil off the stickers and are easy to change when they get dirty.

Excellent guide. Just done shroud graphics after studying the video and am very pleased with the results. Windex isn't available in the UK so have used a very dilute solution of washing up liquid. Thanks for taking the time to make and post this video.

Thanks very much for taking the time to post this, it has helped me soo much because i was having a lot of trouble with the complex curves on my yamaha wr250f 2016 model. i had no idea you could use soo much heat soo close to the graphics,i did use a heat gun on lowest setting but was too worried about going as close as i see you doing it , i;ve subbed so i can go back to this exact vid for future reference thanks again from UK.

FYI, Windex, and other sprays containing ammonia, will begin to break down the adhesive on your graphics. It may take a while but they won't last nearly as long. If you only plan on running them for a half season, you won't have to worry about it. Anything longer and you may notice the edges lifting in high stress areas.

I heard the same thing about ammonia. I just bought some new graphics from one of the biggest graphic companies out there and they don’t say anything about getting it wet or using glass cleaner in the directions.
