- Santa Monica, September 6, 2024 - The Santa Monica Police Department’s Mounted Unit was recently seen patrolling Santa Monica Beach, approaching homeless individuals camping there and informing them that camping is not permitted. This enforcement aligns with Santa Monica Municipal Code 4.08.095, which bans camping in public areas, including beaches, streets, parks, and government properties.
The Mounted Unit plays a vital role in maintaining public safety, providing a visible and effective law enforcement presence. Their ability to navigate crowded areas makes them essential in managing the busy beachfront and responding quickly to emergencies.
The community values the Mounted Unit not only for its law enforcement efforts but also for fostering a sense of security and trust. Their presence highlights Santa Monica's commitment to safe and welcoming public spaces.

Enforce , enforce and clean the trash from our beaches. Enough is enough
Those horses would
get my attention
Props to the Santa Monica Police Department for making our beaches and communities a safer place to live.
Noticed all the homeless have moved back over to Venice Beach recently - tents and trash everywhere. 🤢 Venice Beach always smells like piss from all the crazy drunks urinating everywhere too
It's for the cameras. They didn't actually do anything.
@@morabeza1 I mean, they clean up a few camps, but the next day 10 more pop up 😒 it’s a never ending cycle
Indeed! 😊
If we really want our beaches clean then all of us in Santa Monica have to open our homes and take the beach homeless in. There is no other solution for this growing crisis.
Those horses are so remarkably well trained ❤
I can't help but wonder who cleans up after those horses as they're walking on the beach?
Just take a dirtbike or 4wheeler
You are worried about the horse shit . Where do you think those homeless people camping on the beach are shiting ? And let's not forget the used needles.
@jimo2665
Let's not forget about evolution, we are animals. And the government sells alcohol in gas stations advertised by NASCAR drivers and football players even though everything is made of atoms on the periodic table of elements and the only difference between legal and illegal drugs is a different combination of hydrogen and carbon atoms. You literally are freaking out over some hydrogen and carbon. Also don't forget you could control the dosage, purity, disposal, safety off those substances but you actively choose not to like some irresponsible drama queen
Cops clean it up, they place it in a trash bag and put it in a trash receptacle.
@@WCoast_ ayyy good to know, thanks
I saw no enforcement!I would love to just take a leisurely trot on the beach and get paid for it!
Super enjoyable little trot-about Santa Monica's beach. Dynamically so, given that my favorite beast is Equus caballus. The bird resting on the mounted policeman's cap was priceless.
Gyönyörűek ezek a felvételek, köszönöm szépen Magyarország ról.
_A horse, a horse, my kingdom for a horse !_
Great photo op with no real action. Didn't see them enforce sh*t.
Exactly 😮
Thanks for sharing video SMCU 😊 I ❤️ the beach 🏖️ so relaxing so "spiritual" ✨ enjoy your weekend SMCU 😘
So, I guess getting off the horse to "enforce rules" is an option?
is it just me or does it look like they just walk past it and dont bother?
Just another reason to love LA!
Disagree
Rules for thee
Not for me
I love L.A!

@@sarbantz , you're joking. Right?
@@sarbantz , you do that. There's no "we" about it.
What is the cost of having a mounted police?
Did Daisy jump bail? 🤷♂🤣🤣🤣🤣
Really?.. it ain’t going to work!🤣…homeless seem to have more power than hard working citizens 😂🤣..good luck!…🤣😂
I hope the horses get water.
Because the rules say not to camp on the beach and they don't respect them, they're going to camp in the mountains
Those homeless better get off the beach by sundown or the posse gonna git 'em
If your horse takes a dump on the beach, make sure you pick it up or you will get a littering fine.
Poor horses in this heat. Those cops are lazy
You're kidding, right? Lol
Looking over weight
Do they pass 🤔 physical
Wow you're obviously not from California, especially the South 😂
@@optimusprinceps3526 yeah I'm from here and it sucks
@@tomsimpson5317 It's great in Ocean Beach, San Diego 🎉🏖️🤸🇺🇸
Those enforcement on horses beed to learn to ride them right. SPURS on horses aren't needed if you can really ride a horse. Itsclassed as animal cruelty.
No camping for ANYONE
horses are pets that mean cops are required to pick up after their 💩
Whose air support in background?
Santa Monica what a funny name, wonder where it came from?
these two have a great job just bossing around on their horses
Lawrence of Arabia
What is the connection?
What’s the use of them riding around on the horses they aren’t doing any enforcement? I bet if the guy got off his horse on the sand he wouldn’t be able to get back on.
It's 90 degrees, them horses ok?
Lazy people.
You know absolutely nothing about horses, clearly.
these peoople life like tom hanks on that island
People act like the horses will die walking at the beach… do all your horses that live in hot climate chill in an air conditioned building? 😂 they’re animals, they are used to the weather and being outside… how about horses back in the day? Going cross country… these cops baby their horses just like k9 cops (most of them anyways) love their dog like their own child. Many departments have mounted police. Stop crying about the horses and calling the cops lazy… if that’s the case call the cops on bikes, side by sides and cars lazy too because they’re not hoofing it on foot. 🤦🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️💀
Always a fool who wants to touch the horses….
Why do some people need to permission to film other people when THIS DUDE can film anything ?!? I don't get it. WEIRDO
If they poop whos cleans it up ..lol😂
Ride over to Venice
i guess its okay for the horses to shit all over the beach
Where would Amoricans prefer their homeless to live?!
In houses

@@pattilemonhouse7911 Then you need to organise some houses for them to live in!
@@adrianwright8685 , no I don't, commie. I would tell them where you could put them but your head is already occupying that space.
Reminds me of the planet of the apes movie!
This is animal abuse these cops are pure lazy .
ok acabman

Your tax dollars at work
What a frigging joke. Roy Roger and Dale Evans.
I wonder if they'd prefer them to be on a raft in the ocean.🥴
Horse don't belong on the beach, code violation. We can't have our dogs on the beach so you can't have your horse on the beach....
