- If you’re expecting a package and didn't get it, it may have been stolen off a train near downtown Los Angeles. Trains carrying crates of orders are being robbed, leaving packages strewn across a Union Pacific Railroad track. As freight trains slow down or stop, thieves leap aboard with bolt cutters, open giant containers and take whatever they want. Left behind are hundreds if not thousands of packages - some empty and some not. Some of the boxes held retail goods bound for empty store shelves.
This is so disgusting, both the act of stealing packages and trashing the environment.
This probably isn’t the best time but I did not expect to see you here

You can only pay up to 50 cents using coins 10 cents or lower here (most just tap and go with their card)... or if US shops insists on allowing people to pay with a bucket full of change then those shops should be legislated to have change counters in their shops where the people on the register just put it into the change counter and it automatically tallies it up quick.

If this were a USPS haul, things would be much different. The suspects would have already been caught. Cargo in general should be protected under federal law.

The law on the books was anything that hinders the delivery of the Rail Road i.e stealing goods or tampering with tracks or stealing supplies the Rail Road needs is a Federal Crime but no one will enforce it.

In the UPS facilities, this is considered a felony charge to steal items from packages, especially if the price of stolen goods is in the thousands of dollars.

Think about all of the things sent through the mail from your grandma’s Christmas card to your water bill and bank statements. Just because it passes through the government employees hands in their care before it gets to you, doesn’t make it theirs any more than this happens for FedEx/UPS. It’s a crime because sometimes import things need to get to you before a certain time frame=time sensitive material that might not get to you in time or at all, otherwise.

I think if they have controlled fences around each box cart that was remotely locked/unlocked from conductors that also was electric so they can turn them on when driving so nobody would be able to access until driver turned off the electric fences on carts and open gates also would be detachable so they could put containers on then hook fences back on
