Who else could call 2 games in one telecast like Harlan can? He has always been one of my favorite play-by-play announcers. I love him on NBA coverage.
Kevin brings an excitement to the booth that's very rare these days. As the networks get rid of the Gus Johnsons of the world, Harlan has found this perfect middle ground between stoic professional and fan of the game
Truth. I think one of the hardest things for an announcer to do is know when to be quiet, especially in basketball with indoor arenas that carry sound better. Let the fans get a feel for the energy of the environment. Harlan has always been great with that as well. Simply the GOAT.
Gus Johnson is the only other one up there in terms of multiple sports. I know there’s not so much NBA coverage with him but he’s covered college basketball and football alongside the NFL. The only other multi sport announcer I can think of outside of Al Michaels is Mike Tirico who I thought was pretty solid when he was on ESPN commentating on NBA and NFL games before he switched to NBC for just NFL only.
Before he started doing it for network TV, he was the radio guy here in Kansas City... I miss the hell out of him. It's been 3 decades. Anyhow, it is still special when he calls the Chiefs on network TV.
As good as Harlan is on tv, his radio work is unbelievable. He will, from the time a team breaks a huddle to the time the ball is snapped, tell you whih hash the ball is placed on, the offensive formation, the number of defensive lineman, he paints an exquisite picture with words in a rapid fire delivery that John Moschitta himself would be envious of
Streaker Niners Rams Two streakers clobbered Jets Colts The cat Cowboys Giants I’m calling both games Chargers Chiefs Streaker Bucs Chiefs Superbowl Two games Vikings Niners
Kevin Harlan & Al Michaels are probably the best NFL announcers in history. Every time you heard them, you know you’re in for a treat. Especially Kevin
Boy as a Dolphins fan that 07 season was rough and yes, I cried when we won. Because were about to be the first franchise to go undefeated and defeated in NFL history
By far the best sportscaster behind the microphone 🎤 Kevin Harlan makes plays more exciting than they already are. No matter what is going on. Be it a sports play, a cat on the field, or a streaker.
A part of me was hoping for pull up your pants and be a man or the cat running into the CDW endzone for a TD XD Harlan is a treasure! Love how he calls all preseason games for the Packers.
Keep in mind this man is also doing NBA and college basketball! What a crazy memory to think specifically about just the football games when trying to recollect which games these were
While not the halcyon days of Mahomes and co. The Schottenheimer era of KC Chiefs would not have been the same without Kevin Harlan on 101.1 The Fox. We’d turn the sound off on the tv and turn the radio up, even listen to him on earbuds in the stadium. “Oh baby what a play!” Will forever be the sound of highlights, break out plays, and miraculous events on the gridiron. It took Mitch Holtiss a while to find his stride with such a tough act to follow. I’m sure CBS sports is a bigger, better paying job, but if he ever wants to come back to KC I’m sure the city would have him in a heart beat.
Put this guy on the 1:25pm slate and give us a shoot out it’ll be the most electric game you watch that game, something about those factors just make it magic
You ever watched little kids, like 5 and 6 year olds, play youth soccer where the whole group just bunches up around the ball and no one really kicks it and nothing much happens? Yeah, Kevin Harlan would make that exciting and fun to watch.
I loved the game where Ja'marr Chase made three Baltimore defenders miss him with his spin around. Kevin Harlan, with an ecstatic, yet confused call..."And Burrow throws to Chase, where he will be take...ohh and there he goes! He put em in a blender and this will be six!"
Kevin “I’m calling both games!” Harlan
If it wasn’t for Rich Gannon prompting him with, “I’m getting confused, which game are you calling?” we might never have gotten that gem.
truly one of the calls of all time

"I'm probably breaking every FCC rule in the book!"
@@SuperVF1S1SSportsball fodder..
Kevin Harlan narrates every game like it’s a chariot race and he’s the best for it
Now I want to hear Kevin Harlan call a chariot race.
No. He narrates every PLAY like it's the play to win the SuperBowl. He kinda overdoes it IMO.
@@datsko6339I see you’d be a huge Joe Buck fan
@@wheattt1 Joe Buck is fine as a baseball anouncer and has gotten much better at calling football games
His play by play of the streaker is also a gem.
Was thinking that too
"The guy is drunk, but there he goes!"
Don't forget about the cat on the field.
@@lagodifuoco313 don't forget about the 8 inch turd on the field too

Who else could call 2 games in one telecast like Harlan can? He has always been one of my favorite play-by-play announcers. I love him on NBA coverage.
Then he did it again in 2024
And it was caught by………..the Titans.
The best announcer in NFL history.
And one of the best in the NBA too!
Simply but respectfully just wrong

@@Typzical Troy aikman and joe buck

He’s on the Mount Rushmore of play-by-play callers. And so humble.
his voice is just a model of how sports commentary should be done. one of the goats

"With no regard for human life"
And the cat is elusive, kind of like Barkley and Elliott
I wish Kevin was the lead play by play commentator for CBS
He prefers radio over television.
“And the cat is elusive.”
He has equally iconic calls in both the NFL and NBA. He really is the GOAT commentator

The GOAT of play by play guys. Hands down.

'I'M CALLING NO GAMES!'.
Now this has to happen.

Kevin Harlan is one of my favorites. Class act and a phenomenal talent, no matter the sport.
Best voice on TV
This guy and Eric Collins are the goats and nobody is remotely close.
Shoutouts to his Timberwolves radio days, takes a true talent to make those 90s teams fun to listen to
This man is the GOAT he does NBA NFL and I believe Some March Madness games
I wish that someday Kevin Harlan can call a game (preseason or regular season) with Tony Romo
I have always felt like these two would be a perfect combo.
Kevin is the best
Kevin Harlan is a LEGEND!

Seems like just a great guy and he's a fantastic announcer

This is a stellar video, I hope we get to see more. Harlan's just so great.
always happy to see more kevin harlan content. he's the goat
To think he was the play by play radio guy for the Chiefs in the 80's and early 90's before he went on TV.
was the play by play guy for the twolves as well when they first became a franchise, until TNT hired him.
This man is a national treasure

An absolute legend!!!!!
"I'm calling BOTH games!" Kevin Harlan is STILL underrated. I've loved him since "The cat runs into the end zone -- that's a touchdown!"
"Is this the dagger?" Kawhi Game 7 Raps v Sixers
My favorite call of his was the black cat in the Giants-Cowboys game in 2019 “and the cat runs into the endzone, *THAT IS A TOUCHDOWN!*

Kevin Harlan is one of the best in the business. Never forget his iconic "I'm calling both games!" moment.
I was watching that ravens vs bengals game 2019 but during halftime I went and got food, and came back saw that I missed that play and that call 😭😭😭

Amazing that CBS has Harlan, Nantz, Eagle, and Catalan calling NFL games.
