The tiny plugs filled in in one year?? Where do you live? What was tour watering schedule while they were plugs? What was the schedule as they grew a little bigger?
Which is better plugs are seeds I live in Midwest Louisville Kentucky can I plant hot season grass seeds in coo season climate? Have tall fescue lawn now and hate it goes dormant in summer wanting green lawn all yr around any suggestion?
PPC....true story~went to treat an older guy's lawn this spring and noticed some plugs as my permagreen crossed the yard. Found out later he had 600 zoysia plugs put in his beautiful 10,000 sq ft TTTF front yard. I asked why in the world would he do that. He said when he passed away his wife would not have to water during hot dry weather to keep fescue green. I told him I hoped he lived long enough to see the results of his plugging.
Just a heads up on your roses. Get rid of the mulch. Rock them in. Mulch breeds black spot. I have 30 varieties of Classico's. Rock them in. Dime to nickel sized peebles are best. Absolutely love the channel and info Brother!❤💪
i tried out zoysia from amazoy and wasn't too optimistic considering the condition they arrived in, but surprising ly they established themselves really well in the lawn. they choke out the weeds and requires minimal maintenance.. i am trying out zenith zoysia plugs this year and hope they establish themselves too
Just got Amazoy Meyers Zoysia. I planted Zenith Zoysia a couple of weeks ago. The Zenith is a lighter green which I was not happy about so I'm hoping it will darken up and the blades are different than Meyers. Since I spent the money on them I'm not going to dig them up. Just have to get used to it. Also, when I look at the Zenith to me it looks like a weed.
@@jamesharper5332 True, but the plugs established themselves almost immediately and within a week. now that you mention it they are a little lighter but my lawn is small enough so its not noticable but amazoy took a long time to establish itself though i can't complain. it did what it was supposed to.
I had no idea Zoysia spread like that. May be a good alternative to my side yard Bermuda w/ too much shade. The bermuda never gets super healthy in that side yard shade
The bermuda in my back yard is doing terrible cause it's so shaded. I'm going to put some zoysia plugs down in a few days and will see what happens. If that doesn't work, then I guess I'll reluctantly switch to St Augustine.
Use sand when you use plugs, you'll be amazed how much faster you can force zoysua to grow plus a little heavier on fertilizer if you use a fungicide to help prevent disease
Man, the memorial garden came in nice. I'd like to see what it does w a season of full maintenance. I was listening to Matt's podcast on Tenacity. I'm in NWGA and just overseeded shaded backyard w fescue. I sprayed Tenacity prior to seeding and was going to do Scott's starter fert w weed preventer (tenacity). Thoughts?
@@PaulsPrimeCuts Paul what variety of Zoysia did you plant? I plugged my front yard with Meyer 52 over 10 years ago up here in MD and it has not spread like that even in the full sun areas. What is your secret to make it spread like that?
Nicholas Jasmine mso or crop oil will penetrate into the tuff waxy cuticle on plants ... a nis will help disperse product across the the leaf for better coverage

PAUL!!!! I really enjoyed seeing the progress of the Zoysia...I’m a BIG ZOYSIA addict...MAN!!! You got that section looking AWESOME!!! 👍🏽
Wize Guy thanks!
How often and how much did you water them when you first planted them?
Duane Sapp every day

Darren Harris fescue is about your only option for year around green or bluegrass. You can plant zoysia seeds .... the type in this yard doesn’t seed
Paul good day... I’ve been getting some wild Bermudagrass in my zoysia would you suggest fusilade herbicide or any tips?
Yeah that’s what I’d try ... or ornimic over the top (same active ingredient)

Steve Willey it’s a slow spreader for sure
When I die my wife will have to concrete our yard

Do you have a link for the X-start fertilizer. I just put two pallets of Zorro Zoysia down and want it to hurry up and green out. Thanks from Texas!

It’s a little better in shade than Bermudagrass
@@PaulsPrimeCuts - do you think the Zoysia will eventually creep and choke out the common bermuda?
@@critterdude311 probably not

Yeah go for it... I’m gearing up to seed here too
How many hours of full sun does it get?
Parts of it get shaded out by the fence and deck . The parts that are shaded do ok but the parts that get more exposure do better
I need a truckload of the Paul's Grass Plugs for my side yard!
Hey bud good to hear from ya. Yeah it takes a bunch 😂
You include free shipping to TN right

I thought about editing that out when I heard what I said but I figured someone would get a chuckle out of it
@@PaulsPrimeCuts I'm glad you didn't. We can all use a good laugh these days 😜
how did u keep other grasses from growing in?
nice tip, what is it?
Where did you buy the plugs from?
Paul Wade … at A to Zoysia on utube
If we are Oscar the Grouch, always on our garbage can, does that make you the Count ?!?! One weed, two weed, ah ah.
what should i be paying for the plugs? amazon has some about $1 each
That’s pretty cheap…. Check out nc grass plugs .com
Wouldn't you be better off mulching? And 400 plugs, Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy sod and be done?
What's the go to for surfactant if it's too hot for the MSO?
The subvert depth 10 + has been very effective serving triple duty as a surfactant a fertilizer and a biostemulant

Zachary Cabe RGS or Humic & kelp can be a helpful tool for growing in turf

can you mow Yoysia short like Bermuda, say 0.5" -1"
Yes
Can you make a video on how you clean the flowzone

How do you set it to half mulch half bag?
On certain hondo models there’s a lever on it
