I love this teaching so much! Thank you for covering this topic of praying in tongues! It's so important! I have had many of the same experiences of increasing my time in prayer through tongues. -It builds us up in our most holy faith. (Jude 1:20) -God brings rest and refreshing to His people as we pray in tongues. ..."So the Lord will use strange words and foreign languages to speak to these people. God said to them, “Here is a place of rest; let the tired people come and rest. This is the place of peace.” But the people would not listen." (Isaiah 28:11-12) -Praying in tongues helps us to pray out the perfect will of God with the assistance of the Holy Spirit's wisdom and knowledge. Romans 8:26 says, "Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered". -Praying in tongues is the gateway to activating all of the spiritual gifts. When I pray in tongues for longer periods of time, my spirit becomes so sensitive to God. and I feel so on-fire for Him. I receive 'words of knowledge' about people who need encouragement, and more people are physically healed when I pray for them when I spend time praying in tongues daily. It's the best! ...Paul said, "I speak in tongues more than you all!!" 1 Corinthians 14:18 -Paul is a great person to emulate! :)

Thank you for the message! I watched the video where you revealed how you first learned of your gift of tongues, and it was so impressive! It made me think about a lot of things, and it reminded me of the story in the Bible of the man who wanted to feed the visiting angel (the story of Samson's parents). The man's name was Manoah and he offered food to this angel, but the angel said that he wouldn't eat his food. But there was another very interesting thing in that encounter. The man asked the angel, "Tell me, what is your name?" And the angel replied, "Why do you need to know my name? It is peculiar." And that story made me think about the words of the gift of tongues. These words sound funny, but that is the language of angels and of the Holy Spirit. And I honestly believe that when the Holy Spirit prays for us --- because He is sealed with us until resurection --- He is praying in the language that we refer to as tongues. In other words, I believe that people who received the gift of tongues have been standing close to the Holy Spirit enough to be able to hear and distinguish the words that He speaks by our side. To be honest, I've always wondered about the sounds of the otherworldly and if it's loud on the other side. I definitely believe when demons are around, they scream in our ears and do all kinds of loud and blasphemous things. But, thank goodness, we cannot hear how demons cuss us out. It's just so impressive to meet someone who was standing by the door to that gift until they opened it. I mean, why does God give us some gifts and not the others? I believe it has to do with our destiny and natural curiosities and inclinations. Thank you again so much for sharing! God bless!

Then sit in silence and just pray to God in your head. You don't have to have the gift of tongues to have a prayer life. But, if you are praying for the gift of tongues ask people to pray over you for you to receive it. The video I have tagged after this video is really helpful in that. Thanks for watching 🙏

Hmmmm, I am in two minds about tongues. Biblically it doesn’t match up. When I compare it to acts, it is pretty clear in terms of it’s characteristics. Then there is the 1 Corinthians problem too. I am still exegeting the text so this is not an attack on you at all. just saying that I am confused. I think it makes Christians lazy. We are to learn how to pray with the spirit and with our mind in unison. The best example is the psalms, David prayed like a champion and you can see improvement he made over time with the help of the Holy Spirit. Study the psalms and read the battle plan for prayer.
I find that when people don’t know how what to say, they quickly default to the so called tongues and they base their progress on a feeling which is also problematic. The heart is deceitful and it fools many into believing what is untrue.
Here is a video on praying in the spirit, this was from John Bunyan, one of the great preachers of all time. Read his book called pilgrims progress. Overall thanks for the video, I am trying to figure this out. Either you are wrong or the other people are. It’s annoying to say the least 😂
Enjoy the video, you will see that most have an incorrect view of praying in the spirit: th-cam.com/video/RvNIM3OR7yU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=I1I-q0-g6Nd6WuHg
This is gold so brace yourself. These guys were light years ahead in the faith.

@@xabisogxoyiya8022 I've actually read that book! Very encouraging book, it's ok to doubt the gift. I will say with absolute certainty I had all of the doubts and arguments you just listed. I would encourage you to read "Living Water " by Chuck Smith. It answered all of my questions and gave me a very clear understanding for the questions that I had.

Thank you for the response. I will check out the book as I really want to get to the bottom of this. I love theology because it does help me avoid deception and heresy. The arises when things become too academic. There is a balance that needs to be found. I am teaching myself how to rightly divide the text and it is a rabbit hole of note.
If you truly have the gift then I commend you, Paul did say that to everyone can speak in tongues. I know that God is not like us so I never want to bash anyone. It is wise to examine everything and test the spirits. There is a much deception, it’s a nightmare.
Check out the video I shared anyway. if you have the gift, then I am sure it will help you augment what you have already.
God. Less you sister. All things in Christ.
Have a lovely day and an even better week ahead. I hope my come t was not disrespectful I any way.

@@xabisogxoyiya8022 Jesus said his followers would speak in tongues in Mark 16:17, and we have examples of believers doing just that in Acts 10:44 and Acts 19:6

without a doubt there are many who are pretending to have this gift and others who truly have it abuse it and misuse it, however.
What i did was go straight to the Lord Jesus right after reading the events in the book of Acts. I seen this gift in my grandmother for she prayed in tongues often during her prayer group meetings. So i had faith to receive it from the Lord because i had seen it in my family but when the church elders prayed for me nothing happened. So after a couple of weeks i went into my literal closet 😅and earnestly prayed to the Lord that if it pleased Him to grant me this gift i would be so very happy and greatful but if it wasn’t something for me then i would be content and continue in faith with Him. When i tell you immediately i found myself on my knees-every knee shall bow and mine certainly did at the presence of the Lord Jesus. The entire closed was thick with fog and i smelled a strong perfume that at the same time didn’t feel dense but like actual oxygen. Next, an unknown word came to my mind, so i spoke it and after that another came so i spoke that. I kept at it until i had enough words to make an actual sentence in a language i did not know. This is how i knew without a doubt that i had received the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in unknown tongues straight from the Lord Jesus Himself because i asked Him alone in faith (reading acts helped pump up my faith for receiving). I hope my testimony helps you figure things out and as always seek our Lord Jesus in everything ❤
