I'm impressed that the dough didn't sag while you were baking this. You might want to get a ball whisk so that you don't get dough collecting inside the whisk when your stirring dough.

Absolutely not. Store bought cookie dough has baking soda in it to help the cookie rise. The dough will balloon in the mug and you'll be left with a solid brick.

I think any thick Ceramic mug can stand high temperatures in the oven, because the mug it self is made with really high temperatures 300-1000+ ⁰C

Just keep trying to make the cookie cups ur gonna get better soon or use a different recipe
try not to work the dough too much. for me when i mix i mix until the flour is gone and stop..dont mix it anymore. (;
Just make sure your butter is really soft. I usually beat the butter with the egg before mixing in the sugars. Good luck! :]
