I am confused
So what's the difference between bituminous waterproof membrane and torch on membrane
Thanks for your comment. In short, torch-on membrane is a specialized type of bituminous membrane that requires heat to apply, offering enhanced durability and bonding.Bituminous waterproofing membrane and torch-on membrane are closely related but have distinct differences in terms of application and formulation.

Safety first
Yes. Thanks for your input.
Whether can we put screed on the membrane as final layer?
Yes. That’s is must. It needs to put screed as a protection layer. Because, it should not be exposed to the direct UV rays and rain 🌧️.
The protection layer method depends on, where we apply these membrane. If we apply underground structures (which are exposed to the soil, we can use brick/block walls with 1000 gauge polythene as a protective layer.
If we use on above structures ( as roof terrace), we can use cement screed or concrete screed as protection later. But be vigilant that cement/concrete is not properly bonding with this membrane. So, we have to keep separation joints and better finish method.
There is a video regarding roof terrace waterproofing and insulation in my channel. If you refer that, there I showed a section detail regarding how to finish the roof terrace after the waterproofing.
Hope this helps you. If you need any advise, I love to help ☺️.
@@constructionengineeringtip6028 Thank you so much for your kind advice sir,I will definitely go through the video 🙏, Also please let me know how we can contact you, thank you sir.

Can I order any point of Manila?and what particular autlet ser
Thanks for your comment. You can easily buy products from Singapore 🇸🇬. They are the main distributor near your country.
If you want, I can nominate some of them or otherwise you can google it and contact. 😊
How many coats of primer did you apply?
It should be 2- coats and should be applied in perpendicular directions to ensure that primer applied all over the surface/substrate.
Thanks for your comment ☺️.
If it's okay if 1 coat only?
@@JaniceValmoriayes 👍🏽. But make sure it’s applied all over the substrate. Otherwise, membrane will not be properly sealed.
@@llgalappaththi Thanks you 🙏. Yes you can apply only 1 coat. But, it should be applied all over the surface.

Will the bitumen prime catch fire?
Yes. Its for proper bonding between Membrane and Primer.
Good video
I like them shoes...
Thanks for the comment. Safety is poor here . I was trying to highlight the correct procedure of application as per BS 8000 workmanship codes.
Hope more suggestions and comments for all videos. Love to hear and share knowledge as well. 😊🤘
Primer coverage per litre please?
Typically, the primer coverage per liter for torch-on membrane waterproofing can vary depending on factors like surface porosity and application method. British Standard codes and Australian standards may have specific recommendations, which you can find in documents such as BS 8102:2009 for British standards and AS 3740-2010 for Australian standards. It's best to consult these standards directly for accurate information.
@@constructionengineeringtip6028 Thank you for your technical guidance. I have decided to do FRP waterproofing after thoroughly analysing the cost factor, lifespan and effectiveness. I will do it on my own. Our terrace surface area is already waterproofed using the FRP method and it is giving good results. Now we want to waterproof the parapet wall. I will be highly grateful to you if you make a video on the mixing ratio of FRP components. Thank you 🙏🙏.
@@hsk1977 I’m happy to hear your suggestions. I will definitely do a video on that. ☺️👍🏽
@@constructionengineeringtip6028 Thank you.
Never mind torching the membrane where are your steel cap boots, those liquid droplets aren’t so pleasant on the skin
Yes. Appreciate your input 👍🏽
Sealing should be done with karanti not with tourch itself
Thanks for your comment. Can I know the technical word for “karanti”. ?
@@constructionengineeringtip6028 masonry trowel
Idk what "karanti" is but it should sealed with a 6" pointed trowel 😅 buddy is breathing in 5x more fumes 😂

wow. very poor safety
Yes sure, Thanks for your comments. Safety should be first. In here safely is very poor. We need to educate all the workers regarding proper safety practices before commencing the work. In here, I was trying to BOLT the correct procedures in torch on membrane applications. 🤘👍
where is your PPE son?
Thanks for your comment.
Yes, safety is poor. PPE is a must. 👍🏽
Hala bat ganyan pagseal?
Hi, Can you reply in English..🙂
There are different methods to seal termination edges and Wall edges. For termination edge seals, we can implement this methodology. But for wall end edges sealing, it’s recommended to use steel strip and acrylic sealer.
Thanks for your comment. 😊
no safety shoes
Thanks for you input. Safety shoes must be worn. 👍🏽
NAKA TSINELAS PO....
Yes. That’s not allowed. Site team should be aware of these construction safety practices. Relevant PPE should be worn.
Thanks for highlighting. 👍🏽
Why they are not wearing safety at work?
Ur sealing method completely wrong bro... U need to seal with stel kerni
Thanks for your comments. But, steel strip is used for termination edges, as where membrane no longer lapping.
For membrane lapping, video shown method is the correct one.
If you need more details, please refer BS8000 standards.👍👍
Hello we have project in manila can you give us quotation the roofdeck is around 900sq.m.@@constructionengineeringtip6028
@@apdarchitect3840 Hi, in here I'm not doing services for the application. You can find number of applicators (material supply and install) related to your working area. You can monitor their method statements, work quality using these videos. These procedures based on BS8000 workmanship codes.
Thanks 👍😊
Flip Flops? Seriously... Stopped watching after 20 seconds.
Using rubber slippers not allowed and it’s not the recommended way. It needs to use a static roller to seal the joints.
Thanks for highlighting the issue. 👍🏽🙏
You can follow the procedures as BS code as I mentioned in the video. That’s the recommended laps.
