I’m an old rocker but I do enjoy some of Tame Impala. Has a real 80’s sound to me., synth and “wall of sound” effects I enjoy it but wonder if I could listen to a whole album of it. Since Ty likes to lose himself to kinda trance music, how about trying him out on some 90’s trip-hop like Massive Attack? Also, he liked Simple Minds, so maybe he would Mike and the Mechanics? How does he feel about Muse? Or The Warning?

Ok Tame Impala are great band (well mainly Kevin) from Australia! Great choice Ty. They are one of the last more modern music I have gotten into. Actually quite an eighties sound with the vocals imo.
its not a surprise you dig him with all the synths and “retro” sounds with such a captivating voice, with a modern twist in production, glad you enjoyed!

Tame Impala , an original brilliant band / artist. Love their vibe & sound!, Ty said the live performance 🎭 was amazing & the sound in the arena best he’s ever heard! Cool 😎 Beans!
Ty thinks this had psychedelic vibe? Huh? Having lived through the 60’s in high school and college……that’s not what WE called psychedelic. Now, The Doors, Country Joe, Iron Butterfly, Pink Floyd, Jefferson Airplane, yeah…psychedelic. Tame Impala in many songs has a real trance vibe to me…more like trip hop than psychedelia

I just assumed……..don’t know if Ty could deal with it…….would be interesting to see if he can appreciate the wondrous creativity and innovation this far removed. Also, we were all pretty stoned. But considering his comments…..I don’t think that’s a barrier.
@Helene Spaulding Tame Impala has a more psychedelic sound in his earlier albums! Pls try "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards", "Apocalypse Dreams" and "It Is Not Meant To Be".
Though I'm more of a 'EP/Innerspeaker/Lonerism' kinda Tame Impala fan rather than a 'Currents/The Slow Rish' kinda Tame Impala fan, I do love this song (and the album it's from) and this reaction. I hope you're gonna do a 'Elephant' or 'Feels Like We Only Go Backwards video too at some point. Nice work!
