    I’ve never gone to a running store or had them study my run technique. They told me that I overpronate on both my feet/ankles. When I put these on, even just walking in them felt amazing.

    As a beginner in running. I decided to visit a store earlier (running room london, ON) and the guy told me that Both feet tends to pronate. So, He recommended this shoe, and when I tried it on for an hour. I have never felt more comfortable ever! The cushion is so addictive, and yes its breathable.

    You are so correct recommending the Adrenaline GTS 20 for both neutral & guidance/stability runs. I have recommended to several runners with mixed foot issues (left & right slightly differ). While the Adrenaline GTS doesn’t exactly fit me perfectly, it is a great alternative and all-around shoe for foot/feet issues.

    Your videos are all great! I do have a question about these. I’m not a runner but have to have comfortable shoes for heel pain and we have tile floors throughout our home. I currently alternate with Brooks Glycerin 17 and 18 and Ghost 13 that are working well. I would love to try these for a little extra support. Will these feel similar to the Ghost 13 in terms of underfoot cushioning? And are they ok for medium to high arches? Thanks for any info!

    Amazing review, I'm glad you mentioned that at 4:14... I currently run in the 1080 v10's and have a medium/high arch. Usually when I run over 5k, I get progressive tightness near my outer shins and hip flexors (I stretch and foam roll before every run too). I'm noticing my right foot has a predominate underpronation from sustaining an injury (spiral fracture) when I was a kid. I'm beginning to think these 1080 v10's are too "neutral" for me? I was looking at the 860 V10's or these. Maybe I need to stick to a stability shoe?

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Brandon - thanks for watching. I think you would be better off in this shoe than the 860 for sure. NB860 is a great shoe but it will probably throw you more to the outside and cause more pain to the hips. Both the 860 and the adrenaline have less cushion then you’d be used to in the 1080s but the guide rails would probably benefit you. If you were looking for something that has a more cushioned feel with a the guiderail structure, check out the new Brooks Transcend. It’s like a more cushioned version of this adrenaline. We have a review up for that as well. Hope that helps and thanks for checking our channel out.

    I was wondering what changed with their shoes. Thank you for explaining.
    I was using the beast 16's, and when the new ones came out, I purchased a pair.
    I noticed right away that they were very different and didnt provide the same level of support.
    My gts 16's feel more supportive than the new beast line.

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching. If you like the structure of the current adrenaline but need a little more support than the new beast coming out later this year would be worth a try. They’re getting rid of their usual beast design and switching it to a beefier version of this adrenaline model.

    • @doloreschansey9556
      @doloreschansey9556 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Beast has traditionally been a brick, a true beast of a shoe. It has always been more supportive than the adrenalines. However, the adrenalines up to the 16s were very supportive - much different than the 17s on up.

    Hi, thanks for the v helpful review! I was advised by my podiatrist to wear GTS Adrenaline with my custom orthotics because I have flat feet, severe hypermobility and overpronation (lucky me). I found running in them really supportive and had no injuries or soreness using them. However I do a lot of Zumba in them as well, and they don’t work quite as well for this. With all of my foot issues, what shoe would you suggest I use for Zumba, without risking injuring my foot/ankle etc?
    And one more question - my GTS Adrenaline 19’s have worn down now so I’m considering new ones. Even though they have been great, I did find them slightly heavy and not that springy underfoot to build up speed or long distances. I’m considering trying the ASICS 2000 8. How would you compare the two shoes? Thanks!

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Rachael - thanks for watching. I can see having the GTS with an orthotic to be clunky and maybe not ideal for Zumba work. We recently did a review of the new Altra Provision 4 that would be a good option. It has the same support system as the GTS but is built for balance with it's zero drop platform (the heel and toe are on the same level where the brooks has a heel 10mm taller than the toe). Doing zumba or any fast gym movements with a shoe that is not balanced can feel off. I would check out our review on that one. As for the second question I would try the Brooks Ravenna as a lighter option to your 19's. Same structural idea but the lighter and springier package. The GT2000 is a great shoe but it is designed with just medial support where the Brooks has guide rails for support on either side of the foot. If you have a lot of stuff doin I would stick to the guide rail technology.

    • @mattjones3257
      @mattjones3257 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had an older version of the ASICS GT-2000 (v. 6) after running for years in Adrenalines. I found the ASICS to be narrow, dead feeling for cushioning, lacking support in the arch and just too stiff through the shoe. I developed PF that I don’t entirely blame on the shoe, but I don’t think it helped.
      I think the Ravenna is a good recommendation for speedwork. Id stick with the Adrenaline for distance, or transition to the Ravenna slowly as it’s a lot less cushioned.

    @Run Moore My first Brooks shoe that I ever ran in was the Adrenaline GTS 18, I loved how it gave my foot plenty of support since I have flat feet! I’ve since been running in shoes like the Ghost 11 and the shoe I’m currently running in the Ravenna 10”s. I absolutely love the guiderail technology that my Ravenna’s have and I can actually feel myself over pronating a lot less! I’m really excited to see that the new Adrenaline’s have these guiderails on them, I’m thinking about switching back to these since they are my favorite! Would you recommend these or the new Ravenna’s?

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I pull a Ravenna/Adrenaline a lot based on the miles or activities the person is doing. The Adrenaline is heavier and closer in line to the Ghost. If you are looking for a shoe for medium distance runs only than I would say give this Adrenaline a try because it's a boss shoe. If you are looking for some shorter runs and maybe some gym stuff or some speed stuff than the new Ravenna is probably would I would push you towards. Both great shoes.

    How is the forefoot cushion on this version? The forefoot on version 19 seemed almost hard. Went to the Ghost for the first time in 10 years. The last of the Ghost seems to straight for me so I would love to return to the Adrenaline. The Brooksrunning.com lists the arch as Medium/High when past versions were low/medium... Can you comment on the arch support?
    Thx.

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for checking out our review. I would say the cushioning through the forefoot is firmer to help prevent any pronation. As for the arch were you talking about the Adrenaline or the Ghost? I was walking around in both and felt that the Ghost had a slightly higher arch profile than the Adrenaline.

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Without knowing more and some specifics I would say the new stuff from Brooks with the guardrails is really great for knee issues. Our favorite Hoka for knee issues currently is the Gaviotta 2. It seems to offer a guardrails like design that this shoe offers. Both have good support if you are having foot pain as well but the Hoka would probably offer more. Not the best answer but I would encourage you to check out the review for the Gaviotta 2 to see if that could be a better option than the Bondi before you make a final decision. Good luck!

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for checking out our review. We have plenty of customers that use the Ravenna for a full marathon. We were just speaking broadly as the Adrenaline does provide more cushion and support for those longer races. In the shop, we also almost always pull a Transcend for customers that have worn the Adrenaline and Ravenna, as it is another step up in cushioning from the Adrenaline. If you want to try out the Transcend make sure you head to your local brick as it isn't available online.

      @RunMoore  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching and hope you are staying safe right now. The Ghost if the softer version to this Adrenaline but not very many options in a wide. Have you looked at the Brooks Beast 20? It looks good (to me) and has wides. It's a more cushioned version of this model. I wear the older version at the shop and really like it.
      The other brand people around here wear around our local hospital is Hoka's. They are the most cushioned brand we have. Their most popular model, the Clifton 6 is offered in wide too. I have reviews for both those options I mentioned on our channel. Hope that helps, stay safe and thank you.

      The Adrenaline GTS 20 is an awesome shoe, but from what you have described, I think the Brooks Beast 20 would be a better option. The Beast has a deeper in-step and the removable insole can also be taken out to add a little more depth. You will also find that the Beast is a little wider so that should give you some relief on the foot pain when lacing up the shoes.

      Good morning - that’s hard to say if this works help with the heel pain. This is a good shoe now for someone with high arches though because of the guidrails rails build into the shoe since we see a lot of high arch folks roll to the outside of their shoe. I would also say this shoe has a high heel to toe drop which can help a lot of time with Achilles pain if that’s what you’re dealing with after your runs. Hope that helps!

    Do they feel really high in the back being a 12mm heel to to drop ? I only want them as a walking shoe and 12mm is usually too much for me as they throw out my posture. But have read they are softer in the back than in the mid/front so maybe they won't feel like a 12mm hee to toe drop once they break in with the softer rear foam ?

    • @RunMoore

      Hi thanks for checking out our review. I don't think the 12 mm drop feels like a 12 mm drop. This has been one of our most popular shoes in the store and we have yet to have someone complain about the drop. The heel is definitely softer and the guide rails really hug your heel making you feel nice and secure. Hope this helps.

      For a big cushioned casual running shoe there’s nothing quite like a Hoka. The Hoka Clifton is their most popular style for everyday running. In the Brooks line the Brooks Glycerin in their maximum cushioned shoe. For a gym class my favorite shoe right now is the Altra Viho. It’s great for balance, side to side mobility work and cardio. From Brooks I like the Launch for gym work. It’s light and bouncy. Hope that helps and thanks for watching.

      @laudemgloriae3 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also I saw another video on the Adrenaline 18 vs 19 and the 18 is much stiffer in the toe joint. I need that as I’m coming out of a CAM walker after a sesamoid fracture that still isn’t healed. I’m trying the Hokas too. Hoka Bondi 6 does not work for me because I pronate so much. Arahi and Gaviota I’ve been trying. The Brooks Ariel 18 though I found so stabile... I’m getting an orthotic for whatever I decide next week for the sesamoid fracture - to see if this works - otherwise surgery maybe! Anyway - back to question - how is the stiffness of the Adrenaline 20 vs 18 in the toe joint? (I’m trying to bend that joint as little as possible, hurts to bend)

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! The Ariel with the guiderails is not until March of 2020. It will have a stiff toe box but the current model out also is very stiff. It’s the most stable Brooks model out and a great shoe. I really like the Hoka Gaviota as well for someone coming off an injury. The best advice is to find a shoe that really works for you, wear it for a couple months and see if it bears the test of time and then stock up on them.

    Hey, i just ordered my husband the Adrenaline 19s, hes not a runner, but hes on his feet alot for Fedex, he was worried the mesh on these will break easily and also if theyre not waterproof, would they be good with either of that! Durability or waterproof!?

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are not waterproof but they make a version of the ghost called the Ghost GTX that is waterproof but this one is not. The material has been durable and it does stretch the more you wear so it will begin to fit more socklike the more worn. Hope they work and good luck!

    Today was the 2nd time I wore my new Adrenelines. Whatever happened today is new to me. After about 2 miles I developed a sudden terrible pain in the RT big toe region. Actually the ball of my foot feels very sore
    What could this be from I didn't have it yesterday wearing the shoes for 4 miles. I will add I put a pair of Superfeet inserts in the shoes, as I have flat feet. Any suggestions as what could have triggered this problem. I'm afraid to wear the shoes now. I'm wondering if Superfeet and Adrenelines don't go together. I am someone that does need the arch support Superfeet gives. I have worn the inserts prior for years with no problems.

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just spitballing but when I hear ball of foot pain I tend to look at the size and width of the shoe. Especially when adding a SF you can make a shoe feel too cramped and it can cause some ball of foot discomfort. If you are having big toe pain I would think a SF and the stability of this shoe would be beneficial to rolling you away from your gimpy toe. I would make sure you have a good fingernail length at the end of the shoe, perhaps finding your local run shop to get sized up and make sure you are in the right size and width for you. Models change so much that just because you were a certain size in a previous model you may be something else now. The other thing you can try is adding a metatarsal pad in the shoe or switching from a SF to a Aetrex insole with a metatarsal pad that is incorporated in the insole. Hope that helps and good luck!

    I'm a neutral runner, will a stability shoe like the adrenaline gts 20 affect me in any way or harm my feet/knees because of the guiderails, or overall, will a stability shoe affect my style of running?

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, thank you for checking out our review. As a neutral runner, the old Adrenaline would have not been an option, due to the medial posting, which is meant to correct overpronation and push you outside. However, with the addition of the guide rails on this version it is a more viable option. The guide rails don't force you one way or another they essentially provide correction as needed. If you are interested in a stable shoe I would recommend a shoe with guide rails vs medial posting.

    Hi guys, Thanks for the review. A difficult question here. I have a set of old GTS 14's here with size 12.5. My normal shoes all sit around 11 / 11.5. I don't have any shops nearby where I can buy/test them, so I need to order online. Did Brooks change their sizes over the last years? Or are they consistent with the 2014 model?

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Ivar - That is tough and I don't recall that far back how they compared sizewise. I will say the current size of the 20's seems better and more consistent. Older model GTS we did have to size folks up at least a half a size so I would probably try an 11.5 if you are typically an 11.5 in a running shoe. If that 11/11.5 is a more typical dress shoe than I would try a 12. Reminder if you order from us you can always ship em back and we'll send out another pair for free : )

      This shoe has a similar structural idea as the Kayano. It is one level of cushion less though so depending on the type of mileage you’re doing this would feel a little less under your feet. If you were looking for a similar Brooks idea to the Kayano in terms of both stability and cushion then the Transcend is the closest Brooks model. But if you were looking for a great everyday Brooks shoe with a similar structure to the Kayano this would be it. This is always one of our most popular shoes and this version has not disappointed.

      Hi Charles thanks for checking out our review. The biggest update for the Adrenaline in recent times has been from the 18 to the 19, however from the 19 to 20 the changes were very minimal. The main changes they have made is in making to upper more breathable.

    • @RunMoore

      I think just 1cm to a women size 9 would be adequate. If you’re planning on doing real long runs or have a history of bunions or need some extra width you could do 26.5/9.5 but most folks should be fine just going up 1cm.

    I've been wearing Adrenalines for years. I had a pair of 19s and got 400 miles out of them. I bought the 20s a couple of weeks ago and have about 90 miles on them. I don't see or feel a big difference between the two. I like the shoelaces on the 19 better, they are flat and the 20s are round and a little stretchy and can be a little hard to untie. It like the shoe, but it seem like it took a little longer to break in.

      Hi Jesse - We like to pull the Altra Paradigm 4.5 or the Hoka Gaviota 2 for folks coming in dealing with Metatarsalgia. This Adrenaline would be ok but probably not our first choice. There is another option from Brooks called the Transcend 7 that may be a better option than this one. It’s got similar structure but a little more cushioned and a little more room around the toe box. Why would you not recommended these for a marathon? I've run marathons in past versions of the adrenaline before

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a big difference between a shoe selection for a 2:30 vs 5:30 marathoner so I should try to be better about who a statement like that is made for. This shoe is still considered a mid cushion stability shoe. So someone who may be out there for hours and hours may need more cushion for that amount of time. There are lots of folks who can rock this shoe for a full without problems. A newer runner or someone who may be out there for a long period may need a little more shoe or maybe adding an insole to give a little more protection to this shoe. More of a statement for the newbie than a seasoned runner.

      Great question Steven. In my experience, most people try to run in a lighter shoe for marathons, but one that still has some shock absorption, like the Saucony Kinvara or Brooks Pure Flow. A lot of marathoners will even wear a XC racing spikeless flat. They will break it in during a few workouts pre-marathon and then use it for the marathon and then trash it because they are usually done after that.
