Im glad you're showing us your unfiltered experience. There's not enough honest gun content on YT
Thanks for watching!
Love the 1000 round series. I like the real raw footage without any bias opinions. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for watching, Joe.
Thank you for this honest review.
Thanks for watching.
Mine has literally shocked the crap out of me. Everytime I shoot it I’m like dude it’s costing you a fortune stop but I can’t. Literally zero issues except 2 LPS after dumping it in the mud. I’m at 2k rounds nothing broke yet. Ima pull it out once a month just to see how long it will take to break. I had a handful of LPS but it was with ZSR ammo which has been notorious for that in every gun I’ve put it in. I was reviewing several other Guns during that same time and was having those same LPS in three or four different guns. I was just trying to cycle through the ammunition, but I know for a 100% fact it was the ammo with mine. However, other than the two times I picked up the ammo to take a picture to show how hard the primer had been hit, but still did not go off I put the round back in the Taurus and it went bang every single time.
Very interesting, Tauras needs to look into this issue, please keep up the great videos. I bought the Mod3 it's great. Thanks
The Mod 3 is great.
We love the 1000 round series, keep em coming! Are you still going to review the GX4, or not even worth it at this point because the internals would be the same? And maybe hook us up with a 'my gun collection' video. I feel like you've probably got a pretty sweet collection. Also, do you keep all the guns you review or get rid of them after a while because they just sit?
I had high hopes for the GX2 and was looking forward to the GX4. I really just wanted to see if the back straps made a difference.
I’m not a big collector. I buy a lot of guns to see how they perform and keep the ones I like/perform the best.
I sell a lot of them
You're the reason I own a mod3. And yes I love that gun.
It’s a quality pistol. I’d like to see a compact version.
I would change the firing pin spring and firing pin. Good point made with the Springfield firing the cartridge and only being $350.
I would update the assembly to the Lakeline version as well.
Love your thousand round series
Thanks for watching, Jonn.
I gotta say Nick, that was pretty bad ass how you brought out the Mod 3 to finish off what the GX2 couldn't. I'm very happy with my Mod 3 and it continues to impress me and the guys at the range. Better luck next time Taurus. Always nice to see the Mod 3 back out again. Never had a single issue with it. Looking forward to the wrap up tomorrow because todays ending says it all. Good stuff.
The Mod 3 is an awesome $300 pistol.
Heck yeah. I like that the XD mod 3 made an appearance in this video. Thank you and keep up the good work.
The XD Mod 3 is a very nice pistol.
I'll love to see the Mete MC9 Prime Micro-Compact, New Taurus guns is garage I haven't bought a Taurus since the 24/7 they had recalls on it and those guns was rock solid they retailed for 485$ back in 2001. Love seeing the content keep your doing thang A M.
The Prime is already on order.
Would love to see you run the Beretta APX-1 Compact. Thanks again for the videos.
@@charlessmith2209 maybe one day.
They do have a lifetime warranty, you could send it off to Taurus and let them fix whatever is wrong and test the customer service side
of them. It should come back with an explanation of what they found and repaired or replaced. Just a thought
That’s been mentioned a few times. Maybe we will make it happen.
I would like to see you send it in to find out what the problem is and also see how well they stand behind their products
Sounds like you need the second strike capability 😊
I bought a GX2 about 2 weeks ago and haven’t got a chance to even fire it yet.
GX2 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Would taurus allow you to send this in as a defect?
I believe they would but I have not looked into it.
Watched the issue in slow @3:33 It does appear to briefly fail to enter battery. I didn't see it happen on the earlier light strike, or the later one. Good news is, you get to have the content opportunity to test out Taurus's warranty and customer service. This rings of brand-new gun to the market teething issues. They are almost always inconsistent manufacturing issues. That is a brand new slide assembly, even if the fire control unit is identical to the GX4. Early adopter life. I remember when the XD was a new platform. We're getting old.
The ole trusty Mod 3. Perfect example of a budget gun that just performs. I'll be curious to see how the GX2 handles the defensive rounds. But more curious about the next gun that's coming to the channel.
We have a few pistols on order. I’m not sure which order they will arrive in.
you are hardcore with these out everday !, y , day
We are just making the most of our lunch breaks.
What grain Fiochi ammo are you using? I want to try some through mine. I have run Wolf 115 steel cased no issues, Maxxtech 115 grain, Winchester white box 115, and Federal 124 with no issues so far.
115.
So how do the primers look on the rounds that fire? Do they look like a nice strong strike or are they borderline soft? Im just trying to understand what is causing the issue better. Is the striker spring just under powered or is something binding up. Just thinking out loud. I know you are not a gun smith so not on you. I actually hope Taurus sees this video series so they can address this problem. Keep it coming.
1000 round series are great brother.
Thanks for the support.
The problem with loading the bullet into another gun and it fires is that the primer could have been seated in the taurus allowing the xd3 to fire it. What do you plan on doing with the Taurus?
What ammo are you using when getting the lite primer strikes?
That’s 115 grain Fiocchi.
@averagemarksman yeah I've never had a problem with that myself. Thanks for the videos. I'd say for a cheap range toy 7 out of 1000 would be fine. But when you have other guns go with 0 I wouldn't carry the Taurus
@ agreed.
Nick , are you going to send that gun back to Taurus ? I would be curious what their response would be . I have shot 600 rounds thru my GX2 never had a light primer strike or any failures .
I do enjoy the 1000 round tests !! Keep them coming …
Gary, I’ve considered it. We will see how it does tomorrow.
Ok buddy , BTW I still try to donate $40 on your site but the error keeps coming up about verifying that I am not a robot .
I think the thousand rounds series is really good to test a pistol. Wish you had retried the two light primer strike rounds in the Taurus. I think they would have worked the second time. But with that said, that pistol appears to have an issue.
In the earlier videos we tried a round the second time and it didn’t go off so I brought out a second pistol just in case.
Getting worse as you go.
Is that a spring deficiency.?
Could be. I’m not sure.
Send it back to Taurus. They need to know what's going on with their products, and so do we.
Maybe we will make that happen.
Appreciate the videos, definitely taking my decision into consideration for a home defense and “truck carry” as I was looking at the GX2 and GX4 Carry. Now after all of the knowledge out there, considering looking at pure American S&W. Havent seen one not go bang yet😂 don’t quote me there
Get a G3 and G2C 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
It’s hard to beat a Shield Plus in this category of pistol.
It's only your GX2...send it back!Im a Canik and CZ person but i have the GX2 and its flawless!Send it back
Zero chances it’s the only one.
Taurus stock prices will never be the same! 😂
The limits on the Taurus came to quick lol
Facts.
i would recycle the light primer strike ammo through the taurus one more time before trying it in another pistol just to see if it would fire the second time.
We did that in some of the earlier videos. We had one that the GX2 wouldn’t fire but the Shield Plus had zero issues.
@@averagemarksman well done then sir
You might try more expensive range ammo? I look forward to the "defensive ammo test" which I assume will be good quality and not some big bulk box cheapo stuff from a MartMart store............................elsullo
Expensive range ammo will not solve the problem. If every gun we ever tested can run that ammo with zero issues then it’s the gun not the ammo.
Enjoy your 1000 round videos. Think it's time to give up on the Taurus don't waist your self defense ammo. Just my opinion.
That’s probably the smartest option but it’s for the people. What if we have more light primer strikes?
I’ve seen other reviewers get 1,500, even over 2,000 rounds through the GX2 and never have any issues; no misfires, no jams, no failures of any kind, and they started just as you did - straight out of the box, no cleaning, no lube, just out of the box. One guy even threw it in sand, mud, water, and still had no issues. Maybe it’s just your gun having issues?
Yep,he got a bad batch
"Straight out of the box, no cleaning, no lube, just out of the box." This faulty idea WAS INVENTED ON YUUUUTOOOOB by self-appointed teen-aged gun experts because THEY SAID SO, and wanted new guns to fail so that they could sound smart criticizing the gun and not the shooter. This was NEVER even an IDEA before that, and "Olde-Timers" just clucked their tongues. New guns are shipped nearly dry of lubrication to not soil the packaging. Internally they have thick assembly grease for rust proofing holding factory dirt and grit in the barrel and every nook and cranny---which SHOULD BE CLEANED OUT BEFORE FIRST SHOOTING! Then a simple lubing so the gun runs like it was designed for............................elsullo
Not entirely true. He did have a few light primer strikes in those videos. It could have been the ammo but now I'm not so sure. I really want to like this gun. It feels very good in hand and is the perfect size for me. Time will tell. Taurus needs to look into this even if it is only a small number of guns with a problem. Slighty stronger striker spring maybe?
Let's go!!!! Subscribe today!!💯💯💯
Thanks, Joey.
If its not factory crud and not the ammo then send it back to Taurus to fix the problem. I will stick with my proven flawless G2c.
No reason to change if you have one that works.
@@averagemarksman G Squared Tactical had 2k rounds of different kinds through his GX2 example with no problems. While TheFirearmGuy is having break in problems with his. Looks like you just got one with a defective firing pin spring unless its your ammo.
@@rbm6184 sounds like there are a variety of issues for people across the board.
@@averagemarksman Sometimes new designs are like that and are marketed before they are ready.
the Lakeline upgraded striker would fix this. That said, that's a 70 dollar upgrade on a 250 dollar pistol. Doesn't make sense to spend 70 on a 250 pustol.
I just saw a review on the GX2 from the FirearmsGuy and it was crapstorm. He could barely get it to run.
@@charlessmith2209 that’s not good.
