Seattle city attorney seeks $83K in penalties against infamous 'Belltown Hellcat' driver

- The Seattle City Attorney's Office filed a motion alleging Miles Hudson, the so-called "Belltown Hellcat" driver accused of racing his Dodge Charger through city streets and waking people up with his loud exhaust, has failed to respond to the city's lawsuit and is subject to $83,200 in penalties.
Hudson has been ordered by a court not to drive the Charger and the city issued him a notice of violation for the excessive noise with an order to remove the car's illegal exhaust system, according to prosecutors.
The city attorney's office alleges Hudson continues to "flaunt" his Charger's excessive noise on his Instagram account.
Videos obtained by the city attorney's office allegedly show Hudson in his car last week as the exhaust revs outside an apartment building in the University District. A male's voice in the video can be heard screaming 'wake up b----' as someone is revving the car's engine.

It's personal property. It's costly to go after people's personal property in lawsuits, especially cars because they are essentially worthless over time. You can't just call LE and tell them to take something when have no lawful reason to do so. Now, if he is ever caught driving recklessly like that downtown, they will in fact take that car, if they have time to catch him.
Most of us with modern high performance cars have valved exhausts, allowing us to make the car as quiet as possible on demand so we don’t disturb our neighbors. This guy is a sociopath with zero empathy for others.

If he is on her insurance as well that will also be a problem for her. not sure why these guys always say the car is theirs and they paid for it when it is always bank of mom and dad. The insurance on that car must be at least $1500 a month for a guy that young and of that demographic driving that kind of car.

This is a nationwide issue. Noise pollution via exhausts is commonplace in my city, too. Edgars with the V6 mustangs and hondas and infinities with fart cannons. The Tyrones with the dodge challengers and chargers. Bobby with his V8 stang.
Don't forget the Harley drivers that need to be heard from the next county. In my area, they even rev their engines while they're stopping just so everyone knows they're driving a Harley. They're fighting their own brakes so they can make noise.

They'll rev as they're taking off so the neighborhood knows they're going for a ride. They'll rev as they're pulling up to say "I'm home". They'll rev as they're slowing down for the stop sign. Their throttles are either on or off. They come and go all day long. It's beyond annoying but I'm pretty sure motorcycles are exempt from vehicle and traffic laws in my state so there's nothing anyone can do.
Time to crack down on this shit. Noise pollution carries serious health risks, not to mention if you happen to be near these losers on the street. Hearing damage is permanent.

There are usually laws about making money from the entertainment of your crime. If he's making money from videos of crimes being committed, you'd think the government could take his money since the money is technically crime proceeds. I got a reckless recently among the 13 tickets I racked up totaling over 30 points running and getting away from two local township cops broad daylight but they got my plate. That ticket is a hard one to swallow 5 points right off the bat & a mandatory fine/court appearance. I had to hire an attorney & ended up with 2 point tickets & a cell phone ticket totaling 9 points keeping one reckless ticket when there were three written between both cops & then my safe driving for a year kicked in ironically the same day and took 3 points off leaving me with 6. That reckless driving is no joke this dude is asking for it playing with them now they he has their attention. Best to just put the stock exhaust back on for now and plead out with an attorney in court
