Do all her steps, but if that doesn't work, she left something out... maybe on purpose... turn off the printer and hold down the paper feed button while off, keep holding and pushing feed button down and turn the printer back on simultaneously, if you have done everything correctly it will print out a "self-test" ticket, then press the feed button again for the second "self-test" sheet... after that ring something in... if it printed the self-test ticket but not the order, double check the connection between the P.O.S system and the printer... if it still doesn't work, restart the P.O.S terminal. If that doesn't work, the printer will need to be serviced... you can listen to her or a guy who was in the restaurant industry for well over 2 decades.... this is why you pay attention to what service people do on anything like ice machines, printers, etc... it will save you headaches during a rush and $1000's on service calls... over 8 years I probably saved one place $20,000 on service calls and made sure my personal got raises from the % of $ set aside for maintenance calls every year
