At first I can't find the picture in my files folder, but later that I found out that it works as a copy tool. You can just paste it any where you want.

I get the same by just pressing the prt screen key. Or if I want a still of a movie hold down the windows key and press prt screen. This saves the screen in the clipboard and you can keep taking shots which you can cut and paste into whichever folder you want.

Win + print screen together take screen shots, saves to photos I think

@@Preacherz All mine are saved in a folder callled screenshots located in C> Users >(name) >Pictures > Screenshots. I go to it by having it in the quick access folder. I just copy and paste into another folder which is also in quick access. (right click and select the copy icon. Then righr click the destination folder and select the paste icon). You also get the option to save it when you hit prt screen in the window that appears but I find it takes longer to navigate to where you want it to go.

I should have said that last option only occurs when you take copy of stills. by pressing prt scrn .If a movie, windows + Prt scrn just keeps saving stills in that Prt screen folder without any interruption. You can than go to the printscreen folder and copy and paste the ones you want.
I often then delete the ones in that folder to save space.

This shortcut will save the selected area to your clipboard, but is there a way to directly save it as a JPEG file ? I tried to google it and there is a setting for that in Windows 11, but not in Windows 10.

I can't figure out how to change the default to jpeg, before I factory reset my PC, it was always jpeg, now it's png which is very annoying and almost defeats the purpose of the quick tool for me, help? was so smooth and fast to shift+win+s, mark then ctrl+v to someone, now i have to save as jpeg in paint before sending :(

Make the video without a watermark? If you use Capcut or davinci resolve, you won’t have to worry about watermarks.

In the snipping tool app settings, you can configure print screen to do the same thing this shortcut does. It’s a little easier to remember 👍
