One thing I will always fondly remember from my time in the Army whilst stationed in Germany were the beers. Especially the Weisse beers ! Just cant get a decent one down here on my rock these days & can't afford the shipping costs. Son doing GCSEs atm & my daughter at Uni so relate to your situation Si 😎👍
I totally get your love for this beer. I LOVE Dunkel Weissbier ! A brand I'm partial to but somehow doesn't get much coverage is Erdinger. Hands down my favorite wheat and dark wheat beers. If you can ever try them please review. When I dragged my workmates to the local German club they absolutely loved the dark wheat from Erdinger. That said, I've never had a dark German wheat beer I didn't like. That said, I'm so lucky to get a few of the beers brewed from the Hook Norton brewery in the Cotswolds over here. Such an astonishingly great brewery, I'd move there if I could. Not sure if this has been one of your tour targets, but if not, it's worth visiting !
A) Mazel tov on your kids doing well scholastically! I don’t have children myself, but I can imagine the satisfaction that that would bring. B) I’d love to try this beer! I’ve never heard of it over here on this side of the pond. In fact, I always sort of assumed that the Capuchin monks were all Italian, and focused more on coffee than beer.

Looks a cracking beer with great head retention for a bottle beer. I've got right into winter bocks loving the depth of flavour as you point out in them
My suggestion for you Simon is to follow your heart. I mean if moving to Germany is what is going to make you really happy DO IT. Time is VALUABLE AND LIMITED. Because I don't want you to get old and cry 😢 on your chair just imagining how good it might have been... BE BRAVE .

The first time in my life that I ever had a beer was in Darmstadt, 1987 on a family trip. It was still called West Germany at that time. Definitely began a lifelong love of German beer for me. Cheers!
I live in the U.S and see alot of beers on your videos I would LOVE to try, but can't get in the U.S. It's a pitty really. I have to agree with you, I've been to Germany, and love the country, people, Culture, History, and alot more. But I really like the easy of getting around the country, but would move in a heartbeat for the food and the BIER!! LOL
Simon you should try the Kapuziner Kellerweizen, that’s a great beer too. I love the swing tops, I really enjoy the beers that have one because they’re also fun to open.
Si you were like a kid in a sweet shop 😂. I've been to Germany a few times and yes they do great beer at great prices👍 would I live their 🤔 No great review tho. Can I have the bottle top for my trainer's plz 😂😂😂
Hi Simon, thank you for the video, I wondered if I could ask you and the community a question I’m thinking about getting the beer monster machine for my birthday but with the recent announcement from the government will I be still Abel to purchase the CO2 canisters, or should I look at getting a machine that doesn’t need CO2?
4 Piraat triple hop for 11 euro isn't bad in my country. (Most expensive 'rip off' country in the world) I cannot believe brewers are asking 8 quid a can now? That's more than a cognac or a whiskey. Nuts.

I'm currently enjoying some Staropolskie Kozlak bock beer gifted to me by my Polish neighbours, Its 6.2% dark beer ,very heavy on the malts

Spent my Honeymoon in East Berlin. It was a fabulous place. They are now doing East German experience holiday tours for wealthy arseholes ;-)
