Fun fact: Paulaner had a commercial with the slogan "G'schichtn ausm Paulanergarten" (in englisch "stories from paulaner garden"),where people sit in a beer garden, drink paulaner and one guy tells funny, really unrealistic stories, where you'd say that he made this one up. Therefore in german language, especially among young people and internet communities, Paulaner has become a synonym for these kind of stories, that sound like they're complete bullsh*t. If you dont believe someone, you can say "Paulaner!" or "Thats a Paulaner!", or if someone claims something without any proof, you can say "Pic or Paulaner!", like "pic or it didn't happen".

I remember these used to be a regular stocked item in Tesco 3-5 years ago. Didn't get on with this; even though i love Wheat beers. Palette may have changed over the years, i love Leffe Brune, and from what i remember Dunkles are like Leffe Brune, just with the wheat beer undertones

I love paulaner just order a paulaner stone stein to be imported from Germany cost me £30, I always say if I get to ocktober fest in Munich its the tent I'll be in for hours haha 😄
Paulaner helles in Tesco for a couple of weeks now. Also in M&S along with the weissbier. Both available in cases of 12 from Majestic wine. There are obviously the online sellers as well, Beer Merchants, Beers of Europe, Beer Hawk and Anazon.
Love the Dunkels (dark in English). I have worked a lot in Germany over the years and I have found the further north you go the less you find the Weiss beers. If fact my German colleagues in the Dortmund area used to frown on me drinking them!
I was drinking this from local spar in canary islands €1.70 pint bottle.. Personally I don't really like it and would gladly swap for a bottle of black sheep ale any day.
Why does it matter they’re 49% owned by Heineken. It’s a cracking brewery, one of the best in Munich! Their original Weissbier is a delight. Tell you what there’s worse giant beer companies to be owned by 👀

Franziskaner is AB InBev, but I think it's fine to be honest. Not the greatest for sure but definitely enjoyable to me. It's surprising to me that Erdinger as an independent brewery can't do better, though.

Paulaner Dunkel Weiss is very , very nice . Easy Drinking beer , very malty and delicious . One of my favourite Dunkel Weiss ‘s . Great beer

Luckily we have better beers than San Miguel in Spain and I mean Spanish beers. I know you know that because you visited some of these breweries.
Heading over to Beers of Europe next week, love these dunkle's, so this is top of the shopping list!

Weird, drank my first Paulaner Dunkel last evening! =) I prefer their regular Weiss bier but the dunkel was a nice variant.
The best Dunkel wheat beer is Erdinger IMO.
Have not seen this in the states.

Yes this is a very good beer. Erdinger do a good dunkle hefe weissbier as well.
