Your lessons are so engaging, entertaining, and educational. I have never come across such a good teacher. You’re so charismatic and spirited. You have helped me so much, especially as someone who doesn’t usually do this visual method of studying. Thank you so much for being here and sharing with us ❤
You are on point. I am amazed and appreciative of your studied knowledge and ability to articulate with such clarity that distinguishes you from most others and also your willingness to allow strangers to partake of your disciplined studies. Thank you.
to be honest i think Mackies critique of the free will defence is perfectly valid, because to say that God is unable to create humans that always choose good but still have free will since it is logically impossible is undermining his omnipotence.
the theist may say that God cannot do the logically impossible, in the same way he cannot create a rock too heavy for him to lift or create a square circle. An interesting critique of that idea I've heard is that a being who can logically only do one thing, like scratch its ear, seems to be become omnipotent on that definition. Also, God could have given us His nature, of always freely doing good (which is obviously not logically impossible if its existence is granted, unless God's actions are in fact determined).
Thank you so much Ben, I have my mocks after Christmas and this has helped me so much. I've been watching you from GCSEs and you have always been amazing. Keep it up!🥰
Amazing video and thank you so much for making it. Just to make Mackie's argument against the free will a bit clearer - I think what he is saying is that because God is all-powerful, he was the power to create a notion whereby humans can always freely choose the good choice. If it was logically impossible for God to do so, he would not be all powerful - God's logic transcends human understanding and does not need to operate within the logic of humans and our understanding. I don't mean to 'hate' or anything and you're clearly better educated on the whole subject than me I just thought this might make it a bit clearer. Thanks again for the video - looking forward to the paper on monday
Thank you, I'm doing the edexcel spec but honestly this video was so helpful and covered everything I needed to know. Sidenote - where did you get that blazer?
