This video was issued on a VHS format which I happen to have a copy of given to me by the company since I worked on three ships as a musician onboard the Inspiration, Fascination and Destiny respectively from 1997 through 2005 with a break in between. Lots of good memories. Now I’m happily married to a waitress I met on the Destiny many moons ago. Thanks for posting this.
I worked 3 ships for Carnival (1993)as a musician! It was the greatest job I ever had! They are all great people that were very good to Me! I have since invested in Carnival stocks and have really enjoyed seeing the company continue to grow through its people building and with job promotions from within!
Carnival was a fantastic cruise line back then they had the best musicians shows comedians lobster tail every cruise, and an energy unmatched by any other cruise line.
How magically carnival shaped my life. I come from the era of Bob Dickenson and Victoriano bernardez Guilty and Ken the maitre d. Started as a bar waiter on the paradise in 2003 and left as fleet bar trainer in 2010. I miss the family carnival was under Bob, I met him on Fascination in 2007. Today, I still live on the seas, after buying my own yacht before the Virus changed the world. Thank you carnival for the amazing memories and experiences and travels to 40+ countries.
My wife and I traveled on our first and honeymoon cruise aboard the Ecstasy on August 21, 1995. The experience was way beyond what we had hoped. Great food including the midnight buffets which are long gone. The service was wonderful, the drinks were enormous and you get to keep the glass. Free in cabin movies. So wonderful we traveled on her again in May of 1998 with our first son with us and second as a stowaway. We’ve done 12 other carnival cruise since then.
Started on my cruising on the Carnival Fantasy in 1994, and been on the horizon and Mardi Gras twice last year, and have plans for two this year already......
The past two years have not been kind to Carnival. Just look at their stock price. But in spite of all the difficulty, they still produce a fantastic product. I just returned from an 8-day cruise aboard the Dream. They were at 97% capacity. And there are still a lot of people that are very passionate about cruising. Ignoring the fact that I got covid two days after returning, it was basically the perfect cruise for my family. There was lots of 50th anniversary paraphernalia on the ship. So it was interesting to hear about the early history of Carnival. Thanks to whoever posted this!
Another FANTASTIC upload "Cruise Nostalgia" . As a Cruise Advisor and a past Carnival guest, I agree Carnival has come a long way and continues to be at the forefront of the cruise industry. My only disagreement is, and this was confirmed by a Carnival Corp lead BDM. The term "The Fun Ships" actually came from the grounding of the Mardi Gras when one of the passengers was heard saying after he heard it was an open bar because of the grounding "WOW...What a fun ship"!!! From then on, the brand phrase stuck.
Carnival, RCL, Norwegian, were all great back in the golden days of cruising. Those days are long gone, unfortunately. It's not the same. People are more ignorant, entitled, and demanding. Not everyone but a noticeable amount.
Carnival Cruises is by far the worst cruise line out there. Before going on any Carnival Cruise take a look at their safety record, you are putting your life on the line sailing with. Most ships have had more than one engine room fire. I have been on two Carnival crujise and both had an engine fire.
I really enjoyed Carnival when they had their original ships 🛳️🛳️🛳️. The company has grown too big and I'm sure that when you go on a cruise now, the steward won't remember you. Gone is the family "feel" from the cruise staff who took care of you.

My mom used to work for Carnival in the '80s, and she recognized a bunch of her former coworkers in this video.

Now Caraival is now 50 years old.

I totally agree.
Did he say Cathy Lee Crosby was too racy or too racist?
Back when head management looked and sounded like big business.
❤
Money Money Money 💰
And the Levitsons were allowed there!
I noticed that everybody who started in '72 was now a director of somthing or other. Except for the black people who were still cabin stewards.
😢😢😢😢
Could you imaaaagine Bernadette Peters in this role… absolutely not. Kathie Lee Gifford was the only one suited for the role!!!!
How things have changed...no twerking 😂😂😂😂
Their earlier ships looked like shit imo. Like they're incomplete. The design with the smokestack lower than the front of the ship looked ghetto.
