    Considering the financial state of Serie A, their results show how good coaches are in there.

    Tactically, Vito De Palma (an iconic Calcio and soccer commentator), considered that final in 2003 as the perfect soccer match. If you watch it closely, and set aside your expectations of goals, you’ll appreciate the level of that game.

    Comparing Seria A to the Premier League is just a really silly thing to do and has nothing to do with wether it is back or not. Variety in terms of how many teams are wining the title do matter more than anything else.

    It'll be back when they sort out their marketing. Its got the most potential in the world of any league, yet at the moment even I, having only taken two marketing classes, can orchestrate a better marketing strategy than their department currently. They need better graphics and logos as well. Soon as their marketing manages to bring in more money and they can improve their stadiums. Its a long way to go but the blueprint is there

    Inter and AC Milan have had relatively easy routes to the semis, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Juve are a shambles. Napoli have looked good earlier in the season but weren't great against Milan in the quarters. I still hope an Italian team wins it this year, anyone but City or Madrid.

      I do agree its no reason to get ahead of ourselves but I wouldn't say they had a easy route to the semis. They probably had the hardest route, like what? Italian teams have had a great season both in CL and EL, whether that happens next season or not.

      Liverpool had a easy route to the final last season, Manchester City also had a relatively easy route to the final in the 20/21 season so it’s swings and roundabouts for me. Plus if you look at historically inter have had some of the unfavourable group draws in champions league history

    Depends what back means, are they back in terms of being competitive with the french, German and spanish sides( outside of madrid)? Yes( spain has dropped off which is a factor)
    Is Italian football back as genuine longterm competition with the elite like they used to be? Absolutely not.

    We need Serie A back they've given us some of the Greatest moments in football and some of Thee Greatest players.
    Serie is getting more competitive three winners in the last three years while Man City is on its route to win 5 in 6. The Premier League is getting less competitive every season maybe Newcastle and Arsenal will change that.

    Would be awesome if football fans started switching to Italian football in droves for the competitiveness at the top, just to get some reaction from the administrators of other leagues.

    Italian football will always be special and it’s a fantastic derby but Chelsea beat AC in the group stages home and away pretty comfortably. If either team had been drawn against City or Real they would probably lose.

    • @clarenceonyekwere5428
      @clarenceonyekwere5428 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup, a mix of favorable draws and luck, boosted them. Inter only met Portuguese clubs on the way to meeting another Italian club, AC weren't so good but met another Italian team.
      If any of these had met Liverpool, Chelsea, Madrid, City, PSG, Bayern or Dortmund in the knockouts, it may have been different

    No, this year's draw was enormously favourable to the Italian teams. Anything outside of the UCL is not relevant in regards to Italian football being "back". They are very unlikely to see a winner this year, even with 2 in the semis. Napoli were wonderful this season, but you have to question whether the investment there will maintain that level.

    • @theredhall-thisisfootball
      @theredhall-thisisfootball ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Inter had Barcelona and Bayern in their group, Ac Milan had Chelsea an English team in the Group and knocked out another English team in Tottenham.
      City have won 5 in 6, in the last three years Inter Milan, Ac Milan and now Napoli have won it is the most competitive no team is getting 90 points in Italy. The top 4 race is wide open, Roma, Milan, Inter, Lazio, Juve and Atalanta all not safe.

      -4 different winners of the serie a in the past four years (epl likely only to have 2 in past 4 years with mci having 3 and liverpool 1)
      -Italian teams in three different european competitions is exceedingly unlikely to be down just to luck
      -Inter faced porto and benfica and while I understand the argument that porto is easy, benfica consistently matched PSG and even topped their group, yet had Inter faced PSG, a lower quality team in reality, people would be saying otherwise
      -Milan faced Tottenham and Napoli. They beat Tottenham convincingly and while that in itself isn't an achievement, they did show tactical flexibility and discipline against Napoli. Since the loss against Chelsea, they've only conceded one goal in the UCL, at the 90+3' from a great Oshimen header when the game was basically over.
      -Napoli played extremely well up until they were tactically outclassed by a disciplined defensive display from Milan. They outplayed Liverpool at home and matched them away, though Liverpool edged it at the very end. Yet, had Milan played Liverpool instead, a lower quality team in reality, people would be saying otherwise.
      Serie A is not fully back just yet, but to undermine their achievements and tactical discipline simply by saying the draw was favorable is going too far the other way.
      This is all with the caveat that serie a is severely economically handicapped demonstrated simply by the fact that Serie A champions get €23.4m (topsoccerblog.com/serie-a-prize-money-2022-2023/) while simply being promoted to the EPL guarantees you at least 3 times that £84.8m (www.goal.com/en-us/news/championship-play-off-final-how-much-premier-league-promotion-decider-worth/17nz5miq9ytix1wkm1w5q2kozd)
