I'm a Michelin fan. Been using the Extrem recently on a life/destruction test. Very good tyre! Use Extrem with a new 120 Mich mousse. It also lasts longer than you'd expect. Mediums - say no more. They work everywhere - use with the right mousse though. The 140 rear needs the latest 140 Michelin mousse or it will not sit on the rim correctly. Trackers - again, superb tyres, tough and resilient & road legal. Big improvement over AC10 (forget AC10 ever existed). If I trail rode, Trackers would be the tyre I'd use purely down to cost and longevity. The pre-rounded knobs on Trackers look weird but a sharp edge tyre like a medium is really only an advantage on wet grassy off-camber tests, out on the trail this is not relevant. Longevity, toughness, tread depth and low price win for the trail rider. If you want a grippier front instead of the Tracker front, use the the medium front.
Cheers Pindie, agree with everything you said. I have actually had some practice in with the Tracker as was surprised by the grip. Granted it was dry conditions but it actually surprised me and my son both, also on rocks. Michelin Mediums have been our competition tyres for a while, love them. The Extrem is on a whole other level!
Dear MrPindie, please help me out. It looks like the Enduro Front 90/90 is actually about 80mm wide, while the 90/100 is truly 90mm. Can you confirm? I am using the Tracker in front. But I found it too slippery on wet ground and would like to use the Enduro Medium, however I need an 80mm front tyre...
Man the information im getting from these videos are gold! You make changing a tire look so easy and fast. What are the tire spoons you used in this video.
Hey, I use Michelin Enduro Medium’s and love them, been looking out for your next training event. Any updates on the next one? I really need some help😂
Which front would you go for in soft sand? I ride sand islands a lot. I've heard conflicting advice about wide or narrow. A lot of the time it's soft sand ruts from 4wd. Similar to that French beach race in Le Touquet.
Hi yes, I still love the Tracker tyre for general trail riding/green laning where road work is part of it. It lasts a long time. The tyre performs really well in dry or grippy conditions. Where it struggles a bit is on wet roots/wet grass. If you were to ride in very wet conditions a Michelin Medium would be better but they wear faster.
I was looking at the tracker but I ride in North Wales where it’s always wet! I only green lane so I need a tyre that I can use on wet slate, rocks, mud and of course on the road, any recommendations please?
Fell in love with the cross comp s12, apparently they discontinued it as I can't find one, anxious to try the tracker in north eastern USA. Very informative video...
I used to use the S12 Cross Comp as well and loved it. After the discontinuation I tried the S5 Soft and it is great, I highly recommend giving it a try. Depending on your riding terrain they also have medium compound. At least here in versatile Finnish enduro and cross country terrains the soft has proven to be on the same level with Cross Comp S12.
@@markohonkanen6823 bad news Marko, I've had the starcross s5 soft on for 136 miles and over the weekend I noticed the carcass split about 2 inches where it seats against the rim. Unhappy to say the least..I have a claim started to review the tire. We will see how well Michelin backs their product...I have never seen this happen in 44 yrs of riding
Excellent videos! I've found them very helpful. Thank you. Question: When going with a taller tire, do you adjust the fork height accordingly? If so, is it a 1:1 correction?
Thanks for the awesome videos. I training to ride the Roof of Africa (Bronze or silver) . What size tire and moose do you recommend ? Thinking 90/100 up front and 140/100 up front
Ryan Bevan hey bud, appreciated. For Roof definitely 90/100 front and 140/80 Michelin Medium Rear. You can run the Michelin Xtrem but you’ll need a new one each day 👍 Good luck with the Roof!
Hi, yes I did use the AC10 previously, in my opinion, the Tracker is much better. Better knobs design, newer rubber compound which feels 'stickier' but seems to last a bit longer. Definitely worth a try and then, if you want a higher performance tyre for competition then try the Michelin Medium Enduro.
I run the tracker for trail riding. Lasting ages and much better than the previous ac10 (by a long way). I mainly ride rocky trails and a lot of wet slippery river crossings along the way. For me it does well in slippy wet muddy ruts. No complaints from me.
Hi,as a beginning dirt bike rider,I was wondering how these tires compare to the Michelin 5 star cross?I mostly ride trails, wet fields, some woods on a beginner level, what tyre would be best for me?I have a Husqy fe 350 2020
@@blazter6489 Not at all, taller knobs have many disadvantages also. taller knobs often fold away on harder stuff like rocks/roots/logs. The larger carcass of the FIM Michelin Medium tyres helps with grip immensely.
Really good and informational video, I learned a bunch and will be going with the Michelin mediums. Thanks

Those tyre levers are sold by Rabaconda
Very helpful vid .. gonna try some of these out here in the Caribbean

I run Starcross 12 soft, favourite tyre in mud and love the tyre in sand, or a sc12 for dry xc racing
I also use the front M but the hard version for very dry rocky terrain. Have you guys tried it too?
Hi, one year after this video, do you have any "Tracker" review updates? Thanks.

Hi Carl, do you still recommend the trackers for greenlaning? Cheers.
The 90/90 actually looks very thin. Is it possible that it is actually around 80mm wide, while the 90/100 is the real 90mm?

Bart Ingels the best tyre for your conditions would be the Michelin Medium Enduro but if cost is an issue then Michelin Tracker

Tracker is in 140 width, why you not use this?
Александр Туркин the 140 is designed for the KTM 690/Husky 701. The 120 is the correct size for KTM EXC enduro bike
Ac10, enduro medium or starcross 5 soft for wet woods, roots, logs, hills, grass, little mud? Thanks!
Enduro Medium in another league for those conditions. 😎

120 or 140 in rear with 2.15 rim?
so no Metzeler od Pirelli tyres?

which tyre for a lot of durability and not so mud
Tracker :)

You keep referring to narrow and wide front tires Aren’t 90/90 90/100 the same width? The difference should be in the height
Matt Clemons Aspect ratio, the sidewall height as a proportion of the tyre width
Matt Clemons www.michelin.co.uk/motorbike/tips-and-advice/tips-motorbike/how-to-read-a-tyre
That’s what I’m saying. The first number (90) is width. The second is a percentage of the width. 90/100 is both 90 mm width and height.
The 90/100 is visibly wider bud. Physically a bigger carcass.
Interesting point. I assumed that within the same manufacturer the numbers were more accurate.
all good but these tyres are very expensive for an amateurs or privateers so we ride rather mitas , metzeler etc :)
trackers are cheap as fuc7 🙂
And where is the Cross Competition S 12 XC, it was too good, other shit is not selling, you have withdrawn from sale
the tracker is a horrible tyre for anything but dry conditions!
Disagree, I was riding through wet and muddy ruts fine on my tracker rear
