I love Doom music because it's never just Heavy Guitar shredding. So many covers just blast guitars here and call it a day, which is why I appreciate this cover a lot, it's faithful, but still distinct
This is literally one of the best covers of this track I have heard so far. It actually sounds ORIGINAL. Every other cover adds something that just doesn't feel right, this is incredible!
That's funny, because that's also how one of my friends and myself refer to that softer metal sound. Indeed, "Aluminum Metal" can certainly sound beautiful =). ~DAR
This cover is perfect, everyone seems to think that the coolest thing to do is to blast their guitars within the first 25 seconds. But you actually kept with the eerie keyboard and build up like the original, amazing stuff!
I think that "house" Give me some kind of PTSD or something. Every time I hear running from evil or a remix of it I think "oh my god the house." I'm talking about (My House) of course.
You don't have a traditional metal sounding tone on your guitar.. that means automatically subscribed! One thing that always annoyed me about game covers was that they always used the same screechy tone when they soloed. Hats off for having a unique tone and standing out from em! Looking forward to more
Thanks, man! I know exactly what you mean! I try to stay away from the generic metal tone that I hear a lot of people trying to copy. I think people just get too carried away with scooping out the mids, to the point that their lead tone just winds up becoming all screechy and fizzy.
Davester2296Covers Your songs sound well composed and good for our ears unlike some other DOOM covers. You definitely have talent for your unique sound and kept the synthesizer section unlike most people and used the guitar only when you had to :)
I really love these covers of the original Doom tracks that are actually faithful to the source material and try to replicate the vibe of the original. Rather than the typical "metal cover", which is basically just: _GUITAR, ACTIVATE._
Imagine, if Rebecca Heineman was given more time, and the 3DO port was successful enough to get a version of Doom 2. I imagine this is what the ost would sound like. Awesome work
I remember playing this level with my dad, he allowed me to press Ctrl to shoot. Best years of my life. And when after he left and we haven't seen him since, and i played it alone, but i've already heard about iddqd back then , so it was not as fun.... I never used cheat-codes since. Cheers from Russia (still haven't been called in yet, but if I do, see you soon maybe)
Man the level of faithfulness, the gameplay video edit... I thought I was opening my yt to have another dinner, right... Well you're a legend and you've made my night bro.
You have transformed this piece into your own work of art. Wow this is good. Straight covers at nice and all, but it is refreshing to see someone take a track, transform it and elevate it above the original.
Hey DAR. I really enjoy your amazing work! I can't even play the games without your music because yours are so good! :D Also, I have a quick question. Did you make a cover of Doom Playstation main theme? (or at least have planned to do it?) :)
Thanks, I'm glad to hear you enjoy my work =)! I actually have covered DOOM 64/PSX's main theme here: th-cam.com/video/QnuAhZZ9hUc/w-d-xo.html unless there's a different theme you're referring to. ~DAR
@@DAR-Davester2296 Both versions are similar but there is some differences between each versions. PSX versions sounds more like heavy metal to me. Ah, yeah the one I was actually thinking of was the Endgame/Conclusion from Doom 64. That one and PSX DOOM's main theme are indeed more heavy sounding! I've added it to my Covers To-Do List, but it might take a little while to get to since I've still got quite a few Plutonia and D64D2 tracks to cover! ~DAR
Sorry, but I don't have any guitar tabs for any of my covers. I either figure them out by ear, or in the case of most of my Doom covers, I just wound up opening the original MIDIs. ~DAR
I would give it a like, but it's at 666 likes. And with it being doom and all... I have came back half a year later. Wow! Over 700+ likes, congrats, man. It's funny, before i saw this video i remember i edited d_runnin.mid to use similar sound effects in this video. Just remembered that.
A remake that is faithful to the original? Impossible!
the song that plagues mapper's nightmares

This was exactly how I thought it sounded when I was a kid. Amazing stuff dude, felt like I was thrown in the past with how faithful these covers are
it was in 4k back then too, nostalgia glasses, first game I fell in love with, kinda slightly scared me tbh

Por fin, alguien que rehace este hermoso tema sin metal generico.
This is a masterpiece

Asian multi-instrumentalist who also digs Doom games? Awesome!

The bass and the keyboard look fun to play on this one, its nothing over the top but its really addictive

awesome work for staying with the synth/organ like feel.

Hey guys, someone has the bass tabs for this masterpiece?
I like that Shin Megami Tensei sound
Dude, when is this going on spotify?!?!
Not sure when, but definitely whenever I decide to go and re-record and re-master all of these old covers =).
