    Honestly Josh, I get buying your coffee. It does give you a reason to get out of the truck, it is a treat and it is also social. Maybe just get a kettle. And some instant coffee? I know it's not great but you won't need it very often. Just to ward off a caffeine headache when you're in certain situations. And you could use the kettle for other things like oatmeal, Mr. Noodles, cup a soup, lots of things really. Thawing something out:)

      @jeffboldt8678 13 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      I like the kettle idea, but I would use a coffee press. Can grind your own beans too, or do tea for a change once in a while.

    • @JillMcCormick-dg6gu

      @@jeffboldt8678 that is a great idea! And coffee made in a press is according to preference of course but a lot of people do enjoy the more robust flavor. Josh does enjoy a bold and rich cup of coffee:) The only down side is the coffee grinds to deal with.

    Getting out of the truck for a coffee gives you some social interaction. A smile and hello can go a long way on a not so good day. Plus you can rant about the service. Mx

    My mentor way way back in the 80's taught me to always have extra water and several cans of something like chef-boyardees ravioli or spaghetti, spam, deviled ham or something like that. And a couple of can openers. A good heavy blanket and a really good sleeping bag. He almost froze to death in the 60's and he preached and inspected my supplies a few times. Never happened to me but better safe than sorry I guess.

    having the option to make coffee in your rig is fine. Keep socializing and getting that truck stop coffee. Havent been a fan of keurig with all that cup nonsense years ago.

    I have been driving a truck for 33 years. Never turn off the truck engine when it's minus like that outside. You leave it running, turn off the lights and along the way the alternator excites your batteries. Your engine idle is big. Reduce from 800 to 600 revolutions.

    You're braver that I am.I couldn't feel comfortable shuting the truck off on those temps even with the bunk heater and block heater. Batterys hate cold weather, I would be afraid the bunk heater blower would run the batterys low.

    Josh have you thought of batch home cooking store them in mason jars and take and store them in fridge in the truck. Then take rice or pasta to cook on small gas stove. That’s how I do my meals for the week while I’m away. Cheap and the options are endless

    On the coffee thing - I enjoy making coffee as much as drinking it, I'm an Aeropress guy, grind fresh using a cheap hand-grinder - it's all part of the fun for me
    I'm NOT a fan of 'pod' coffee machines tho - costly, wasteful and, frankly, the coffee isn't that great - the selling point is convenience but you pass dozens of coffee places every day so in some ways it's LESS convenient - not cheaper - not sure why you'd go for that!?
    I mean the adventure of discovering how bad some coffee is, is also part of the fun - I once bought a coffee at KFC and what I got was 'experience' - I learned never to do that again!

  • @sunnybee7573

    Now that you have the inverter, why don't you just handbrew your own coffee? Honestly there is no better coffee than that. I don't even own a coffee machine, I only handbrew. You just need an electric kettle, a filter holder and paper filters. And a coffee grinder if you use whole beans. You can adjust the amount of coffee and it's so easy and fast 😊

    Keurig is expensive for the caplets. At one point they even used DRM in the caplets so off brands would not work. People found wotk arounds for their nasty deeds. Again grind your own beans and perc the beans. You can not get it any fresher than freshly ground beans!
