A video on goals for new players would be fantastic! I've returned to PoE for the first time since Betrayal league so there's so much new stuff (including the atlas tree). I've finished all T16 maps now and have been kind of aimlessly farming in the hopes I find the maps I need to fight more of the end game bosses but ultimately feeling a bit lost.

Have fun and enjoy the game, find skills that you enjoy, and aim to make any skill you like work in T10 maps.
Playing super efficiently is a stage that comes later in PoE when youve got everything else down pat, but can detract from the heart of the game, which is the interaction between skills, items and the latest league mechanics.

Definitely do more of these. I swear that knowing high level thought process is one of the most valuable things for this game. You gave me a much better idea for my time spent.
I've got to tell you Zizaran, all these videos about how to sort your inventory or shady tricks for very new player are a blessing for them and I'm glad they have them. But after so much repetition, I'm happy that mid players are served with a video that can push them to next level that easily, and I'm one of those who are thankful for that.
It's easy to get discouraged and pretty common to happen in PoE when it's not clear what you have to do next. I was in this situation, but this VOD instantly helped me out by it's title. Obviously even more with the content that came with it.
Anyways enough rambling, this is the content we need. Thanks a lot.
I've played PoE on and off for 4 years and yesterday was the first time I've seen the Atlas passive tree so I've been hella lost on what to do next. Thank you so much for all your videos I'm going back and scouring the rest of your vids for tutorials on mapping, the atlas, and what to do next.

This video was good, but it was really specific to you I think. You're often farming for so many different things because you've got so many different things youre doing and builds you're playing or planning to play, that if you didn't farm multiple things all at once you would never get them all done. But new players may only play one build, maybe two per league. So a video that would help new players would be to how to set the goals they need to reach and then how to look for good ways to achieve those goals. Like deciding your damage is too low, so you need a better weapon, so now how does one acquire that? Sometimes that's essences, sometimes that's harvest, sometimes that's just a unique on a div card or a boss drop. Then, how to decide on the best way to farm it (div card locations, and how Core would be great if you're doing Blight, but a more open layout might be better if the person is doing legion).
Great informational video. I am looking forward to the new player goals video you mentioned. I am currently struggling to push red maps as soft core and I am having trouble figuring out gear upgrades etc. I am following your toxic rain pathfinder btw.
As a new player that’s exactly what I’m doing. I’m just mapping putting skills into atlas and doing whatever events pop up in the map. I’m slowly learning the game. It’s just so damn much.
Same. For me all the game is try to complete all 115 maps and farm delve and the games starts to bored me because i don't know what to do after all that tbh
I have been playing PoE for over 3k hours now, and since I often take a break like every other league, content prioritization and efficiency is all over the place for me. This type of content is excellent and I appreciate every minute of it. Thank you Ziz!!

Ziz, here is a good idea for a guide: How do I know which tier maps should I play in? Obviously the level doesn't mean anything, I play super tanky build (Goratha's LA Champion, great guide BTW) but I randomly get 1 shotted in T11-T13 maps. DoT damage most of the time. How do I know when to progress forward and when to stay in the same tier maps and look for upgrades?
Maybe how to identify my next upgrade might be a good idea as well for a video ;)
Probably your most beneficial video you've posted in a long time. Super interesting strats for lower tier maps and beginning of the league style stuff.
Love these consistent uploads, commenting for the algorithm. a lil qol thing tho is it would be extremely helpful to show a tooltip of the node you are talking about on the atlas tree when you are talking about one since I am a new player and followed your advice to only clear until yellow maps (excluding any tier 4s and 5s to farm orchard and courtyard for the porcupine), so I dont have all the atlas passives unlocked yet! I am now farming essences in low tier maps also as you've said but I fear that you lost me at around before 5 mins in when you started talking about Betrayal (specifically farming Catarina). Even though I will take note of that since you've said it and it sounded important, I will now start and go into another rabbithole as to how to actually do that. Would just be infinitely easier if you just included how to do it too! But again, it's just a small thing! Great job on the vid and it's immensely helpful as usual!!
As a new player I would really love to a see a progression to the atlas especially unique maps such as mavens, shaper and elder. how to progress the map device + void stones

Tip for another needed video: Collecting good-to-know map tier/level related knowledge! Information like in this one; essences does not pay out differently depending on map tier, or, these beasts only appear above this map tier. Or stuff like unique item drop ability, or map tier for dropping guardian/elderslayer maps?
Loved the video! I just want your insight on the process of goal setting. Why, for example, did you pick these rather than farm for something else?
Say, like, running tier 14-16s just to get influence completion and tping out once the influence spawns to farm, say, omni
But that's evidently a dedicated strat that you can't really do other things while doing them
When should I go for a dedicated strat and when do I opt for more of what you were doing where your strat accommodates several goals?

Love the beginner goals video idea, and if it could like touch a bit on long terms goals? I'm an intermediate player with a good build and fantasizing the idea of doing Uber bosses, but I don't really know how to get there exactly.
Thanks, Ziz, really cool to get some tips and mindsets, especially for SSF. I really really love playing Solo Self Found, but always find myself stalling out just before red maps (can't get enough damage and defenses). I'm sure it's a matter of me just focusing on the wrong things (i.e. 'just mapping' as you said), so it's great to get some new things to think about and to try!

In blight you say farming taste of hate. What does that have to do with blight? Is it a blight specific drop? Also you're so right about the beginner goals. I try my best but it's hard when theres so much to know, but you do not know where to start in beginning to know things if that makes sense:-)
He was farming the hunger card for taste of hate, blight has card rewards and stacked decks (I think)
This is a great idea, would love to see a series on goals and farming to achieve them, especially if 1 or more goals are needed to get to a more advance goal. Also, please include some numbers on farming time and currency costs. for example, if you initially specced your atlas for essences and then you wanted to switch to to blight for oils, that requires unmaking orbs, which require regrets. well, how much farming do you need to do to get enough regrets to do the switch? things like that would be helpful.
I started playing poe in 3.15 and I'm just now getting a grasp on the game as a whole. I really want to learn the game enough to play SSF but I'm struggling with midmaxing a build past the midgame and knowing what to do for a reroll on another character. Please do more videos about this topic and how to find out what I need to do.
This is my 4th league and last league was my first time with 2 watch stones. A few hours ago I finally unlocked 5 map slots for the first time, because it was really not explained anywhere. (I figured it out from a quick line from you, but I still had to look it up) This league I wanted to do all 4 watch stones but I'm not really sure what all I need to do and how best to find the maps I need. Learning everything feels like such a slog because you get so few attempts to learn things before you have to do several dozen maps to try again. When you can only play a few hours it's really frustrating.
I wish you mentioned how rippy essences can be in your atlas guide!!

I completely agree with you. I'm new to this game, new to this type of game (I'm from RPG). I just play without clear objectives/goals. I wanted to have one, but I don't know what goals should I have. I don't know what to farm. I watch your videos for guides but most of the time I don't understand. haha. Not much beginner friendly. I understood a bit of the different leagues this game has with the help of your video. But still, dunno hot to proceed. I'm playing about 6 hrs a day without clear goals aside from leveling up to gain passive skill points. haha
My 2nd league tbh but last league being my first (affliction) I still managed to take down every single uber in the game. It took me the first half of the league to fail 3 builds then going to shadow, picking up hexblast miner build and very soon after achieving my first full ascension into Uber farming. Now this league within week one I was t16 with an insane mapper and week 2 onto copying your archmage build to do ubers with all thanks to this guide 😅
Definitely like the idea of a video on how to achieve goals for new/returning players.
I am at 2 voidstones and ~5m DPS with 140k eHP but I am really not sure how to target farm towards the remaining voidstones.
Nice vid Ziz, as always very helpful info. It would be a great idea to make a few videos highlighting some of the goals new and veteran players should aim to achieve. Just as you said at the beginning of the video, there are a lot of different things a player must work on at the same time, to be able to progress their character. I've been playing this game for quite some time (currently at 600+h) and I'm still having difficulties deciding on what should be my next step. Due to not knowing what should I do and when, I often endup spreading into too many league mechanics trying to get all the things I need just to end up not getting any significant gear upgrades nor the currency to get those upgrades.
I love the idea of explaining goals for new players such as myself. Especially as an Xbox player where the market is unbelievable in how scuffed the prices are, tips on how to maximize my efficiency would be a godsend.
This was a really helpful video, I hadn't considered all of the mechanics that were good at low tier in this league.
I'd love a video for new players/returning players. I'm currently running maps just to get through all the maps, but I don't have any clear goals.
A video on suggested new player goals would be exactly what i need. I play every couple leagues, slowly get to red maps, get board with no goal other than atlas completion and stop playing. I've never seen the bosses and would like to get there this league.
I like these kind of video's; they are very usefull, as an example since this league i still have not killed all the bosses (not even close) while playing every day several hours...

I would LOVE a video on how to organize my life in end game. I've been watching so many videos on how to be efficient but I'm so dumb! I think it mainly boils down to the Atlas passive nodes but I'm not sure i have enough points or respecs. I've been kind of targeting essences and beasts but i just dunno if I'm doing it right. I would literally pay someone to look at my character and trees to give me advice on what to farm
Currently blasting Abyss, Bestiary, and Maven 10-ways, with all the conqueror/guardian map drop nodes, so that later I can focus on just that content. Having tons of fun this league.

I usually like to focus on doing challenges so my farming is usually around that content. But farming for harvest and expedition is what I like to spec after challenges. Should really add Alva to that as well.
I have been playing this game for 11-12k hours and I just found out about the legion beam thing telling you which way to go because i usually just blast them. Literally sitting here in disbelief lol
A goals video would be very helpful. I have played off and on for many years now.. and what I struggle with jumping in is what to strive for and what to try to kill. When the Conquerors got intruduced it was the best time in the game for me because there was a clear road map to Sirus so my goal was always go get to him. That can still be a goal with the atlas skill tree, but it is less obvious. The Eldritch Alters were another good goal, but after thier initial League they became just a pain. I am not sure what other things I should be going for.. how.. and why. The why is important.. what should I be chasing? do I go for boss x becuase he drops item y? or is it just the umpteenth crafting material that has a larger persentage to craft desired value x?

Sorry for a long post but as a pretty superb noob (this is my 3rd league) but casually yet intentionally spending hundreds of hours in the game inefficiently i figure maybe i could get some clarity on my experience if anything to help the next noob out 😅
Im not gonna lie this game is difficult af to me. Crucible is my 3rd league and its the furthest ive gotten. Atm im level 93 and sketchily run tier 16 maps. I manage to get them done now way faster than like last week. Juice them up with 3 scarabs, quality, alch corrupt. Delirium and strongboxes. Kill everything including boss only dying a couple times per like 50 maps. I use the 4 sextants for the voidstones try to not reroll unless its some other mechanic i dont get. I farm searing exarch on top of Deli, strongboxes and run the invitation. If i enter a good flow state i may get to those invitations ever 2 or so hours maybe less (made dunes my favoured map because i really like the layout). The juice i put into the maps makes it a little longer than when i was only running yellow maps on my first char this league.
But thats about it the goal thing i just dont really get. I just map and probably have managed to make like 20 or so div. According to the stash valuator site (forgot name) i have 26 div worth of crap sitting in there (which most of the shit no one will probably ever by).
I have seen people in the chat say they can make 20 div a day 😂. Which i believe them dont get me wrong.
But the methods they use i dont even understand and its like it took so much reading, and meticulous research just to get to this point. I dont think i care enough right now to research a super detailed farming. I dabbled (before giving up on making any real money) and saw that i would need to get a bunch of quantant rare item finding gear. I could probably just buy it but even the gear i got took forever to get. I think my highest piece item on my second character is like 3-4 div (my first character has a 4 div item on it and other hundred chaos+ pieces). Also would need to do something like this video and favour a map that can have specific high ticket items? I was a bit bummed to find out that my method might not be that great and my money would come from selling deli orbs (or running them, which i run them and just get more small items like scarabs and crafting currency etc to sell).
I actually got a bit bored of the character im at right now and am starting a 3rd character to bring to maps and am trying to make a LA build 😂. It will be my least hand holded build as the build im jusr coming off of is poison srs (first char was rf jugg).
This time i am considering focusing on the mf gear before hand and maybe (prolly not) ill actually learn how to target farm.
This isnt a complain or anything. A bit long but maybe im just that noob player who likes running maps before bed and turning on a podcast 😂
But for anyone who may have read this: with my original strongbox/delirium method, is the only real money im getting in the form of unwanted scarabs, deli orbs, and 6link corrupteds? The incandescent invites i get i run after alching but they sell for like 130c. I run them with the hopes of maybe finding a high ticket item off the floor for thar dopamine. (I never found or crafted a high ticket item, i just save currency penny by penny and buy them).
The main reason i started a new char because after my 10th invite (all of which i coulda made more profit by selling) i dropped a 1 chaos item 😂. Figured ahh maybe i should try that la character i always wanted to try lol.
Wow, that tip with Blight farming on Core is crazy. 1000s of hours and you learn stuff every day still.

goals for new players would be great. I have been playing for 3 weeks now now and I am just mapping aimlessly currently level 92 and still getting oneshot by the unique map bosses.
2:29 - It must have at least one Shrieking, or it will not duplicate. Won't work if its higher, for example: It won't duplicate an essence monster that has 5 deafening essences, but will do if at least one is shrieking.
My first league was ultimatum and I dropped a hh in one of my first red maps I ever did. From every league from that point forward I've made it a goal to farm a hh or drop one :D
That's one thing I struggle with, this is my first league and I started playing 2 days before crucible.. I'm not sure the best way to make currency, what goals to go after and how to efficiently do anything yet. I've pretty much decided I'd make as many mistakes as possible and learn as much as possible for the next league

I personaly would say what i use my time efficiently on video game if i have fun. thats the only matter. but if your fun is to farm some values as efficiently as possible, then we are talking about all of that stuff.
Goal based progression videos would be great.

I'd love a new player / less advanced goals video. I played litteraly thousands of hours, but I always end up rushing to the atlas, and then I don't know what to do so I just punch through maps again and again in a full braindead fashion. I love PoE and loved it for a while, but never thought of placing goals other than "I need this item for my build, hopefully I'll get it someday" lmao
Make few videos about goals and deep dive how archive them step by step cuz new players like me have hard time after entering the maps and finding whay to the endgame

I am trying to target farm crimson temple, essence, delve, heist, and harvest, metamorph tacked on with lowest cost. I have all voidstones and the 2 maps drop 1tier higher nodes. I am missing only 3 favorite map slots and all are set to crimson temple. I do not have the keystone that prevents cortex from dropping. I chisel, alc and vaal every map.
I keep running out of crimson temple maps and don't understand why.
I want to get my first mageblood. Is this the wrong way?

I dropped the diadem on my first and only Caterina kill on SSF in a level 79 run
I would love to have hh and 100 div on top on softcore, but I'm farming currency so slow, that even if I sell alll I have I wont have that. Tried legions, breaches, harbies, and now casually mapping to at least have fun, because farming isn`t going well. Any advices?

Boneshatter slayer. But it is expensive and not easy to make it work
Dyou have a video for the build at the beginning of the video? Or the name of the build? I'm running RF at the moment and I'm a bit unsatisfied by it's boss damage, looking to swap either to lightning arrow (as I have a ranger leveled as well), or this as it looks cool and good with bosses.
Most of the video footage is Boneshatter Slayer, but that build's weakness is also boss damage, so if that's what you want a new build for I wouldn't recommend that.

Lightning arrow is not a bossing character either. It's pretty much mapping.
@@Zizaran Any recommendation for something that's relatively good at both? I tried TR and RF, looking for something else. Have both Jugg and ranger at 90, would like a build that uses either class, as to not level another one again.

I'm a "new player" with almost 1800h played, I killed shaper like twice and elder once, I don't know what the heck I'm doing
Returning player after years away from the game. There is just too much "junk" to know in the game. As a beginner, I am lost. AFter level 92 I do maps and farming Expeditions and dealing with bad RNG I think I will hang it up and get ready for d4. Maybe a beginner guide will get me back and interested.
Hardest thing for me hasn't been getting currencies. It's been getting levels. Every League I platform at like 95. And I just can't seem to go a hundred maps without dying two or three times. I don't know why maybe I'm just trash
After 95 the exp gain gets really nerfed and if you die you lose more exp too. If you're in trade league, the best way to get to 100 is to buy 5-way legion carries off of TFT. If you want to do it solo, prioritize surviving over damage and use a logout macro when you're in a tight spot
