Why Super Mario Bros Wonder is a BIG DEAL!!

- I havent really been into 2D Mario games for the past years, but Wonder immediately changed that! I believe Nintendo putting out this game is also a BIG DEAL. If you agree let me know, if not tell me as well, love the input you guys always give!

My biggest hope for this game is that it allows the spinoffs to be more original as well!

As much as a lot of this may seem new, in terms of animations, a lot of them are just brought back from Mario 3 and World. Seeing those old animations updated to a modern look is what, in my opinion, makes Super Mario Bros. Wonder feel like a true successor to Super Mario World. Beyond that, they added Peach, Daisy, AND Yoshi as playable characters. Daisy's last mainline appearance being on Super Mario Land back in the year 1989. That was 34 years ago. This is HUGE from Nintendo since Daisy is often seen as a spin-off character. Yet, seeing, Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Daisy jumping around together looks like something that should have been a thing for ages now. Also, Yoshi being playable in something other than Yoshi's Island/other Yoshi games is big. Super Mario Bros. Wonder has opened the floodgates when it comes to future possibilities for the 2D series. (Possible remasters for 1, 2, 3, and World using the Wonder style, and letting you play as different characters depending on the game?)

This was my first time being hyped for a 2D Mario game because I wasn’t around when the older games came out.
This game is what I've been been wanting from the franchise for such a long time. I'm so happy for what this might spell for the coming years!

This game looks AMAZING! I have to admit, when I first saw the trailer for "Super Mario Bros. Wonder," I was a little skeptical. I thought it looked too weird and goofy. But after I was the trailer a few more times, I realized how beautiful the game looks. I must have seen the trailer for this game like 100+ times already, no joke. The art style, graphics, character designs, etc, are so different and unique. I love it! This change for 2D Mario is exactly what we needed. I'm definitely pre-ordering this game, or buying it on day one... Hopefully.
I’m with you on that one, the first time I saw it it looked fun and extremely goofy (I personally am a fan of goof in my games lol) and everything about this game works so well together. I’m excited to get into the game and explore all the worlds it has to offer!
any complaints towards nintendo as a company, are always directed at their business practices. when it comes to making games ... they are simply second to none. literal legends of the industry.
I hope they'll be able to deliver, but I'll likely wait a bit before possibly buying the game. One game that has me and MANY players hyped, on the other end, is Super Mario RPG being remade from the ground up. That one trailer was plenty enough to call that Nintendo direct a 10/10😻😻😻, wonders might kick that note to 11

Saying "you haven't played a 2D Mario game in the last 10 years" doesn't mean what you think it means. New Super Mario Bros. U is the last original 2D Mario game and it originally released in 2012, 11 years ago. In the last 10 years there has only been the Mario Maker games (which are questionable as games of their own, they are more platforms for user created content) and the rerelease of NSMB U.
You are definitely right! Everything after NSMBU is a build on the 2012 one. I just have a nice round number to show that there hasn’t been anything “New” in the past 10 years. A little misleading on my part and I apologize.

You lost me when you said it was the same game for the past 10 years. That's a bunch of crap, maybe NSMB but everything else is always different. Can't please everybody especially nitpickers, smdh.
I personally wasn’t a big fan of 2D Mario after Super Mario World, so every 2D Mario game that came afterwards just didn’t interest me. That’s my personal feel on the series, you seem to really be fond of the series and that’s great. Just wanted to give my take on it
In my opinion, this game is too new. It's lost the original lore of the old good games. The new graphics and animations are good, but some enemies, the purple coins, the new characters, the elephant power-up and other things are ruining the entire lore that has been the same for about forty years.
