The sugar really did good job at damage the fuel system there. Even thicker & heavier than water but not stuck to bottom of the tank!! Good quality content, from Cambodia here.
I know I shouldn’t but hell, I’m enjoying watching and listening to you approach this project (?) so methodically and with such determination. Great work my friend 👍
Its funny you say that. Im still kinda warming up to the camera. When I first started TH-cam I was super nervous, now not so much. You the viewers with your comments has made it better. Thank you
I love Bentleys and love this project car. I don't have your patience though. I want a newer one without all the issues. So basically, I have your budget and want none of the hassles. I think I'll live vicariously through your life.
How the heck have you still only got less then 5k subs... cant wait to see your next project... keep up the amazing quality content. Thank you from OZ 🇦🇺
Its simple, TH-cam has not let me reach more yet. TH-cam has to push your videos out to the millions to gain subs. It has taken until 2 weeks ago for them to slightly push my channel. Im grateful for it and hope to grow bigger. Thank you for watching.
Well , you certainly keep going when most others would have given up! Great work my friend, patience is definitely your virtue. And as you said 1000 bucks is a lot of money or put it another way ....it's an awful lot of gas!! I reckon you've well and truly cured it this time.
Good persistence! In retrospect it occurs to me that maybe would have been good to go this route earlier...and 1K for a tank might have been a fair investment in the long run.
Replacing the tank, would seem like the smart thing to do. But what you did, was the good way. Saving both labour, AND money. Taking that tank out, and putting back in, is a PIG of a job.🌞🙋🏻♂️🇩🇰
Yes, I am thinking I would have dropped the fuel tank, flushed it out, along with all of the filters and fuel line, just to be sure it is clean. Cool project 👍.
What I don't understand is how and expensive car as this Bentley, with all of its 'Bells and Whistles' didn't have a gas tank door that only opens from inside. Unless it was a live-in girlfriend that had access to the car keys and did this damage before she left. Crazy people out there folks.
I would hate to look through a brown tinted windscreen. You can add methylated spirits to the water to clean out the last drops. They will mix and then you can pump it out
When you put the water in there, did you think to try hot water or something else that would put the sugar into solution? I would guess that you would later run methanol through it first to absorb all the excess water moisture...
I didnt want to use hot water because I didnt want to dissolve the sugar and have residue left in the tank. Plus it would have been hard to get into the areas I couldnt reach. Heet is basically alcohol.
Were you able to reuse the gas you pumped out of the Bentley? I don't know what the price is in your area, but that much gas is about $24 up my way. Fingers crossed that you've got this sugar problem solved.
I dont or would not buy a Bentley but, this was cool to watch and learn. This looks kinda fun and easy if you have time, you are a kool dude for all of this. Good luck to ya!!
Novice question. Did someone actually pour sugar into the tank? Must have been an angry spouse (only reason I can think of why anyone would want to destroy a Bentley)
The entire fuel system has to be cleaned all the way to the fuel injectors. Sugar will pass through everything the fuel goes and even burn into the oil. Most importantly is the initial place the sugar entered even the fuel tube to tank will have the most sugar still attached.
Hey 4Lane, perhaps I didn't go through the whole video yet (I don't know if you explain it later), but how the hell did the sugar got into your tank? What I know is, that if you want to damage someone's car you put the sugar into their gas tank. I have no other explanation for it. Btw nice project and really interesting so far.
Thanks. Someone put sugar in the tank thru the filler neck. They flushed it down with some water or other liquid. They done it to sabotage the car and I bought it this way.
@@4LaneBlacktop Wow damn. Somebody had to hate the previous owner. I am looking to buy a used Bentley flying spur during 2022 and am looking for videos like yours so I know what awaits me except for nice looking premium car. Happy new year btw.
I think I've watched 4 or 5 of these videos and I'm at the point....Did you get it fixed or not? I would have taken off the fuel tank by now and clean it properly. .

I admire your persistence and patients when dealing with the fuel issue repair. alot of us may get deflated after a few tries and give up.
Keyed up , suger in gas tank ..hmm the previous owner must have cheated . Just a wild guess 🤣

Well done brother. I like your positive attitude to such a very big job. I like how you explain everything you are doing. Again well done.

incredible how your quality is on par with the big youtubers , like youre so straight up so you come off as very comfortable behind the camera

The Flying Spur is much, much more interesting than the Continental GT. Really enjoying your videos, keep up the great work!
Aren’t they the same car underneath?

Cant give up on it. Its too big of a project. Im pretty sure the fuel system is cured this time.
Smart man not putting everything in the trunk back before you are 100% sure sugar is out!!!
Good stuff! I hadn't watched this video before I made my comment on the previous video. Fantastic! Water treatment :)
Its ok. Commenting is interaction and interaction is good on youtube.
Good persistence! In retrospect it occurs to me that maybe would have been good to go this route earlier...and 1K for a tank might have been a fair investment in the long run.
Yeah I should have flushed it earlier but I didnt know that sugar was hiding in the blind spots of the tank. Oh well, it is all gone now.
Replacing the tank, would seem like the smart thing to do. But what you did, was the good way. Saving both labour, AND money. Taking that tank out, and putting back in, is a PIG of a job.🌞🙋🏻♂️🇩🇰
Somebody really tried to mess this car up with that sugar
Finally you got to a tank flush, first in my book
I had to do that on a Corvette but it was alot simlper to put water in and wash out then hand dry it took alot of shop towels but it worked. Peace
Yes, I am thinking I would have dropped the fuel tank, flushed it out, along with all of the filters and fuel line, just to be sure it is clean. Cool project 👍.
drop the tank and clean it out and put it back in that's what i would have done
Anytime your fuel system is contaminated you flush it. Period. Replace the filters, fuel pump, and clean the tank, lines, and injectors.
First thing I would of done. Tank first, then up to the pumps and filters. All new
Yup, tank out, steam clean it on the inside, that'll dissolve the remaining sugar, oil it, fuel it, change filters done deal.
Looks like someone was really mad at the previous owner...
Water should desolve the sugar. Good video!
If you had a dehumidifier to close in the trunk for a couple days, it would get rid of most of the water.
How bout just pull codes?🤔
Proud you got the balls to own a Bentley.
Takes guts...
I did pull the codes after I got the VAG scan tool. Check out the rest of the videos in the series.

It does only open from the inside.

nightmare job well done
Thank you
tank flush or thinners that is plastick friendly and clean fuel kneck
Everything is cleaned out now. I used water
Were you able to reuse the gas you pumped out of the Bentley? I don't know what the price is in your area, but that much gas is about $24 up my way. Fingers crossed that you've got this sugar problem solved.
I reused most of it. Gas is around $3 a gallon for 93 octane here.
I dont or would not buy a Bentley but, this was cool to watch and learn. This looks kinda fun and easy if you have time, you are a kool dude for all of this. Good luck to ya!!
I would have never bought one if it wasnt like this.
Good vid. Enjoyed it
Thank you
How did you know there was sugar in the tank? Did someone at the auction tell you that may be the case?
Saw it when I tried at add fuel. You can see it in a earlier video.
Just joined the channel. Subbed. Going to watch previous videos to find out about the sugar.
Wrap some cotton tower material around a stick and soak the remaining water out
Good job. Waiting for the next video now.
Novice question. Did someone actually pour sugar into the tank? Must have been an angry spouse (only reason I can think of why anyone would want to destroy a Bentley)
Yes, someone poured in sugar and flushed it in with water.
The entire fuel system has to be cleaned all the way to the fuel injectors. Sugar will pass through everything the fuel goes and even burn into the oil. Most importantly is the initial place the sugar entered even the fuel tube to tank will have the most sugar still attached.
Everything has been taken care of now.
Do you know if you can buy the fuel pump strainer separately. Mine in ripped
I do not think so

@@andrejhornak9797 Happy new year. Kepp looking and you might find a deal. They are hard to come by right now.
There's probably a bunch of sugar still stuck in the filler hose and everytime gas is added it put it in the tank.......
No more sugar. What the rest of the series and you will see it all has been flushed.
Try the fuel injectors as well
When are ya gonna try fuel injectors?
Sweet car.
Is it expensive to maintain
is there no drain plug in the bottom of the tank?
No drain plug. Believe it or not most cars do not come with drains.
I think I've watched 4 or 5 of these videos and I'm at the point....Did you get it fixed or not? I would have taken off the fuel tank by now and clean it properly. .
Yes I got it fixed. Check out the rest of the videos and you will see. I made these videos as I went along.
@@4LaneBlacktop I'm afraid my attention span is not that long, but thanks for the reply.
Sugar, you are so sweet. Why are you causing all these problems?
Am I stating the obvious- who the fk puts sugar in a fuel tank ? Bad joke or payback ? Top videos bro
bruno condello Donald
I wonder what the previous owner did to that woman to make her sugar the tank of his Bentley lol
No telling
Where tf did the sugar come from?
Someone vandalized the car.
The side Chick
How much sugar was in there? 5 pounds?
I would say total would be aroung 16 ounces.
How did sugar get in there?
Someone vandalized it by putting it in there.
@@4LaneBlacktop you would think that would be a thing of the past.
Dude, hook up fans to blow down into fuel filters to dry quicker? Just sayin
I didnt show it but thats what I did. Plus buying fans in the middle of winter is pretty hard because no one has them in the stores.
When will the problem end ?
I made these videos as I went along. Im about finished with it. You have to watch the other videos.
Ok BET
Is there a reason why you're not telling us how much you paid for it?
I gave a complete price breakdown in my latest video. I was waiting till I had all the issues worked out.
I wonder if it would be better if you had dropped the tank and flushed it out rather than just carry on putting the crap fuel through it.
Sugar doesnt dissolve in gasoline
Remember it has a bmw fuel system
No it's a Volkswagen/Audi fuel system. Rolls Royce is BMW based.
Its got throu to the injectors
No sugar made it past the fuel filter. I have undone the lines to and from the engine and there is no signs of any sugar.
No Bentley for me thanks
A wire can be exposed
MYbe if u took it to Bentley it wouldn’t run like a crap.this car is not meant To be messed with in improvised conditions 🤷🏼♂️
you need to get rid of this expensive vw
HAVE U BEEN PUTTING NOTHING BUT PREMIUM GAS? U CANT RUNS THESE CARS ON REGULAR GAS THEY ONLY TAKE PREMIUM THEY WONT RUN GOOD ON REGULAR GAS
I only run 93 octane. I know better in a performance turbo car.
