That's so funny. I was trying to do pretty much the same thing and came up dry for printables. I was sorting out what were and were not appropriate gifts and then used the system to try to find where they might be listed. So I was dying to find out what you discovered. Hopefully, they will do something soon for digitial products.
The one question I have is this: I noticed as well that a lot of featured listings were often not hitting the mark - by a long shot. Do you think this could mean that this whole thing is going to be short-lived? After all, if people conduct gift searches and find they have cull through a lot of inappropriate products, they could lose patience very quickly.

If Etsy can link increased profits to the gift mode feature, then I think it will be here to stay.
