The "Beverly Hills" of Tokyo. Love those high end shops. Actually ordered and having made a suit at Armani's. Should be done in another month or so.

Can anyone explain why a predominantly Shinto Buddhist country would want to celebrate a christian festival?
It would be like the whole of Britain/US celebrating Ramadan.
    Very strange.
PS I am an Atheist and believe it's all nonsense.
    Thanks.

I'm Japanese, I will tell u why . We celebrate Christmas because we love festival ,we accustom to do festival like we have bunch of Matsuri. We don't care about the religious value behind the Christmas we just love to having fun like other festival. So don't overthink because we absolutely not do that when we having Christmas. Thank u

Thanks for explaining that to me. I am half Japanese (my mother was from Kobe) and I visit Japan often but could never understand the celebrating of Xmas. My mum was a Shinto Buddhist and thought Christianity was hilarious when explained to her. Sadly she died suddenly when I was young and I would have loved to have taken her back to her homeland as she wouldn’t have believed how much Japan has changed since she left in 1962.
      Have a great Christmas😀👍🏻

@Toshihiko Watanabe The problem is religion. Please tell me you understand that most wars and conflicts are caused by one group believing their religion is the right one and so will kill all the unbelievers/believers of another religion.
Have you ever wondered why you are a (probably) Shinto Buddhist? It is solely because where you are born and what fairy tales you are taught by your school teachers and parents. The exact same things happens all over the world, Middle East-Muslim, India-Buddhism, USA-Christianity the thing is they can't all be right can they?
If the entire world was atheist we would all live in peace.
