Adam I'm so glad you mentioned hard work, it's this that earns us our enjoyment. It is a balance that is a good place, work hard, play hard. Not to mention, it is the epitome of being a contributing member of society.
Thanks for sharing with your video Adam and Abby. That’s truly a magnificent place to visit, and so many other places around the area to see also. We lived just up the hill a few more miles in Woodland Park and loved the area so much. Great area to visit but would need lots of time to see lots of places . Fred.🙏🏻🙏🏻👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👋👋
I absolutely love watching yalls videos. Y’all both have an infectious positive, happy, blessed attitude. I love watching Abbey, she gets so excited. We would love to meet y’all on the road some day. Safe travels 🤗. ~Treca aka The Squaw
So glad you made it to one of my favorite places in Colorado Springs. My son was stationed there for 6 years in the Air Force. Pikes Peak is another, we took the cog railway to the top, the summit. 14,400 ft above sea level. Was wearing a Cabbage Key t shirt. Elevation 13 ft above sea level. You can see Denver, N a few other states. They make the best donuts there. Maybe the altitude, but becareful, the air is very thin. My wife got altitude sickness, but was fine the next day. Need to drink lots of water on the way up, there, n down. Every time we went to Colorado Springs we always went to the Gods, then to downtown Manitou Springs. Lots of shops n great food. The trading post is amazing. The music they play just is perfect. Never ever wanted to come back home, just minutes away from Boca Grande Fl. Glad you made it there, brings back so many memories. If you ever go back to the Gods, take a picture under the outer edge of balancing rock so it looks as if you are holding it up with your back. Do it without showing the point where the rocks meet. Super thanks for the video. The aspen trees have a leaf with a stem, so when the wind blows they flutter. You can even go thru the Aspen Forest. You made my day. Thank you.
The Manitou incline is a walking trail now. Has been for a number of years. Still great view. Hopefully the Manitou & Pikes Peak Cog RR will have been finished rebuilding so they can take it to the top: THAT IS A great view.
Nice video!! I'm hoping to make it out to Colorado Springs this year or next year, and I will definitely be visiting Garden of the Gods. There's a Garden of the Gods here in Illinois, down in Shawnee National Forest in Southern Illinois, which has some beautiful views, but nothing compared to the Garden of the Gods in Colorado. Just subscribed.
I'm a native and live about 35 miles east of here, you should go down to Canon City and check out the Royal Gorge.Hope you have a great time in Colorful Colorado!
You guys happen to come up on my suggested videos when you went thru Wichita, which is just an hour South of us here. I have now went back and am watching your “big haul” videos from the start. I subscribe and watch a lot of rv’ers on TH-cam for travel videos. In this video you mentioned that this is what you work so hard for, to be able to take these type trips. We’re hoping in the next couple years to start doing some of the same. Enjoy watching you both! Thanks for putting the videos out!
Hadn't seen any of your vids for a while then this one popped up. Enjoy your visit to the city I live in. Really outstanding camera work and narration. Lots to see in the area.
Hey! Just started following y’all as you came through Wichita where I live. I’m a new subscriber and going to view more of your interesting videos. especially the bbq ones! Lol Visited Colorado Springs last fall with my two boys and loved it! Try to drive up to pikes peak but you’ll need to keep that Dodge in low gear coming down and definitely check out The Pantry in Green Mountain Falls especially for breakfast , you will love that place ! Peace and safe travels... Duane😎
Glad you guys got to see Garden of the Gods. I was there a few years ago on my way up into the mountains for what became an very memorable adventure where I met an old lady that lived alone in an old miner's cabin with her pet wolf up at about 11,000 feet. That was a special place.
Where I grew up and were I learned to climb! May I suggest you find your way to Western Colorado and drive through Dolores River Canyon to Gateway...plenty of red rock on the Western Slope....
Thanks, Adam and Abby for showing us such places that many could never go to! Also, 8:02 - It's a shame someone decided to carve their initials in the rock like that....smh 🙄😑
Ben B suggested driving up to Pikes Peak -- Might be difficult tomorrow -- they are having the "annual" Pikes Peak Hill Climb. Qualifying was today, and the finals are tomorrow starting at 7AM. Things will probably return to normal Monday.
One of the best parts of my job is that I get to drive all over Colorado. I know you guys will love your stay here. My favorite place to eat in Durango is “Serious Texas BBQ” there is two of them but I prefer the one that is on the north side of town. There is also a couple of honey stores on the way to Durango (depending on which way you go)
If you are still here head out east of Colorado Springs to Calhan and go to the paint mines. If you have already moved on, come back through sometime they are gorgeous as well.
-Kind of late but the Pikes Peak Hill Climb is tomorrow(Sunday 08/30) so the road is closed. Should see some rally cars and races cars around Manitou. -Good views of Garden of the God from over look. It's by GOG Country Club on the hill above the visitor center. Take 30th past the visitor center and turn up Mesa Rd. -Old Colorado City has tons of shopping for souvenirs and stuff. Front Range BBQ is there and they always land in the top 3 BBQ in Best or Colorado Springs. Go east on Colorado Ave from your camp ground and you will drive right to Old Colorado City. If you want breakfast go to Mountain Shadows in Old Colorado City(can be long wait times).
Ya aught to get across town . . . go up Ruxton Avenue, to the tram up to the top, of Pikes Peak. Or if you're truly advanturous . . . hike the Barr Trail, to the top of the Peak. It starts at the Avenues end.
Sorry that Abby didn’t like the park. :-) The next time you guys are heading out, post a question on your videos of places to see at your next destination. That way you might be able to get local knowledge on hidden gems.
I didn't read through the posts so if someone else asked I apologize. I can see you have a Dodge Ram truck. What model do yo have and are you happy with it.
adam i was happy when you said everybody can do this till you got to the upper loop trail. then i felt sad really really sad. because wheelchair people cant do that.

Agree with your comment, Scott.

Adam, you would enjoy marble, crystal and some of the other out of the way places as well. South out of Glenwood springs.
Did that balanced rock have 3 points of contact lol. Great video series Adam
