    Thanks for a great video. I'm 3 months in to KDP with low sales, but I have made it my mission at the end of last year to work harder, learn everything I can, choose my niche correctly, changed my keywords etc. When I look back at my early efforts they are terrible, so I know I am getting better and better with overall content but what struck me was how you showed the comparison of the book covers....mine look mostly like the right hand selection, and it was when you said, "how will someone buy it if they can't even read the cover clearly" that I looked at my covers through a potential buyer's eyes and realise I have a long way to go still with improving covers. I am going to simplify. I still struggle with the advice given with keywords - I've now switched up to not adding in anything fluffy like "gift for her" and use only the relevant words, but I still feel this area is one that I am not clued up on at all. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, it's appreciated, new sub from me

    I've been self-publishing for two years and I'd love to make it my primary 'job' instead of a side hustle. However, I don't think I'll ever do that with KDP because Amazon can close your account for any reason and I'm terrified to 'put all my eggs in one basket'. There were popular book publishers that got shut down by Amazon, some were able to get their accounts back up while others weren't (I'm thinking of a specific romance author who was making $50,000 a month and got shut down; never got their account back up and running). When Amazon owns your books, you are at their mercy.

      I mean you can also lose a job!Nothing in life is guaranteed and from my experience anyone who has ever gotten their account terminated was because they were doing something wrong. And if they weren’t, they get it back. Also If you build a book brand/audience you can branch off and create more forms of income off on Amazon. It’s not that common to get your account terminated (there are 10s of thousands of accounts and you only hear of the odd one getting terminated, mostly because they did something wrong) but I get the hesitancy!

    Ken, just a suggestion...with all your incredible knowledge in the self publishing niche, you should consider making an online course. I’d be willing to pay if you made a course on the whole publishing process where we can get everything all in one. Just a thought 😉

    Hello Ken. Thank you for your videos.
    I was wondering if all these approaches also work for all sorts of products.

    • @KenSelfPublishing
      @KenSelfPublishing  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’m sure they do to an extent, but I wouldn’t know for sure as I mainly apply them to books!

      @@KenSelfPublishing I see. After all, creating a database is the main strategy you try to teach as I understand. Basically watch your own steps and learn from them.

    Hi thanks Ken for your very informative content. I see there is a difference in how kuch images you can add on your listing, between self publishers and regular publishers. How do i become an official publisher? What's the pros and cons of self vs. reg. Publisher?

    • @KenSelfPublishing
      @KenSelfPublishing  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Glad you’re enjoying the content! And I don’t know much of the difference. Sometimes, the extra images you see is because they print they’re book separately and send them to Amazon for fulfilment. This way they can customize the listing more. This isn’t always possible with print on demand books but maybe it’ll change in the future! It’s not super important to be a legit publisher in amazons eyes but worth it if not a hassle!

    am working on keyword research, what is your general search number that you think might be good number,? I look for keywords that have a low search number and also have a good number of books that are selling well . Thanks.

    • @KenSelfPublishing
      @KenSelfPublishing  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That’s a good thing to look for! I go more into detail on my recent high content keyword research video, and then of course one I posted a while ago. I’d recommend watches those as it’s hard to encapsulate it all in a comment!
