The hat is lovely! St. Catherine & the Catherinettes would be proud. Used to parade for St. Catherine's Day in New Orleans (in the US), but alas, it fell victim to the pandemic & is no more. Hopeful that it will be resurrected in the future.
Ive been desp to create a block for that style headband for myself, but cant afford the wooden blocks. Any suggestions? I love headbands but finding one that fits my odd shaped head is annoying!
Hello Roxann! Yes I have suggestions! And I also notice that you've just joined my Patron, so I will go and give you my suggestions through there. Thank you very much for supporting my work ❤️
Hi Rochelle, the fabric I use is 100% silk dupion. Silk dupion has the right thickness for this. Something like silk satin would be too floppy. But whatever fabric you choose to use, it must be 100% natural fibre. If it has any polyester in it, it will melt. I hope this helps! 😊
I'll try the semolina and Turmeric mixture for stamen powder. I have had a hell of a time finding powder from commercial sellers and the one shop from Japan I did find online is charging $33.00 for shipping a $6.00 pack of stamen powder! Ridiculous!
Hello, yes shipping from other countries can be expensive! You can try other dye substances to get a good colour on the semolina like mixing in some liquid dye or food colouring.
Nobody has commented on the cute cat? What an adorable little creature!

I don’t know why…
But I absolutely adore the term *”petal sandwich”!*

Semolina and turmeric. Whoever would have thought those would be standard millinery supply? It’s brilliant.

Hey,
Is it possible to use 100% silk fabric? Or must it be dupion? 😊
