BABYMETAL is not only.... what you said 🤣 They don't hesitate to mix any music genre with any metal subgenre. Like this time, being an unique combination of dream trance with metal. Su's falsetto is incredible but those crazy notes she belts are even more impressive. The Kami Band members were in a sort of trenches around the stage at the 10 BABYMETAL Budokan shows. 🤘🦊
This song is a bit out of the box for Babymetal. FDTD was the exclusive track for the international version of Metal Resistance, the Japanese version had Syncopation instead; the change was because Koba thought that Syncopation was “too Japanese” for international audiences. The song has only ever be performed live three times, once in LA, and twice at 10 Babymetal Budokan, which is where this was filmed. That’s why the crowd cheered at the start because they realised that they were in for a rare treat getting to see it performed live.
That's why fans consider them priceless treasures. They performed similar beautiful songs very early on. But most people only know their Gimme Chocolate or Headbanger. Thanks for your great reaction.
SU's vocals legit gave me strong goosebumps in this one, usually I just cry listening to that wonderful woman singing lol "just that" haha. This one I legit couldn't believe she hit that and hold that note, my jaw just dropped 😮 🦊🤘🏼
It's definitely not just this song that will surprise you. If you want more of this side of Babymetal you should check out No Rain No Rainbow, Shine, and The Legend. Su-Metal can flat out sing!!
Oh you're the other iteration of reactors in this channel, cool to see you're back with this suggestion. Totally right about this being so different unlike the usual happy songs but BM got this type of songs and hidden gems since first album with songs such Akatsuki or Rondo Of Nightmare. This one is from second album Metal Resistance International edition, while the Japanese version got another banger called Syncopation. This is one out four songs with full English lyrics, the last one is part of the new album released in March this year, is called "Believing" and you should check it out, the whole new album is unlike the usual BM songs, The Other One is showing a BM side we've never seen before. Thanks for sharing this and see you next time 🦊🤘🔥
This was just a great, really heartfelt reaction. This performance is something else and I agreed with everything you had to say about it. Really nice job folks, really!
There is a story behind this performance. We, as fans, pretty much forced it to happen. At the time, this was the only Babymetal song without a proshot live video performance. In the lead in to this (actually these) concerts, Babymetal held fan votes to pick songs to include on a video set to accompany a Limited Edition of the "10 Years Babymetal" greatest hits album. The votes were held in an NCAA Tournament like bracket, pitting one song against another. No way in hell did Koba expect the fans to join together and vote FDTD over songs like "Headbanger". We knew that the only other performance of this song was at the LA Palladium in 2017 and that was pro-shot on video at the time... yet never released. We banded together in an attempt to "force" the release of FDTD from that performance. While fans voted it into the top 10 songs to included on the "Live Video" Blu-ray, it was not included because they (Babymetal) apparently did not own the footage. In return, this most obscure of Babymetal songs was included at this Budokan concert so we would finally get a proshot video of the song.
Good reaction - but you really need to watch more BABYMETAL if you thought all they did was what you thought (they only have one song called 'Gimme Chocolate' they have nearly 70 songs that are not ). This was an exclusive track on the international release of the second album (the Japanese release had 'Syncopation' instead), it has only been played live 3 times, once at the Hollywood Palladium in 2017 (only fancam videos exist for that) and at just two of the ten Budokan concerts in 2021 which is where this video is from. At the Budokan they are in the round, so the Kami Band were positioned around the stage at east, north west and south. This is one of just 4 songs with entirely English lyrics - the other three are 'The ONE', 'Elevator Girl' and from the most recent album 'Believing'.
In Japanese languages, particles, not word order, determine syntax with verbs. For this reason, it is a difficult language to ride on rhythm, and poetry and melody are at the center of composition. Today, when live performances have become the main source of earnings for music activities, JPOP songs are no longer songs, but short musical shows. The metal sound is perfect for modern JPOP because it can produce dramatic expressions that rival an orchestra with the smallest instruments.

Good point. I think this song would fit very well on this new album.
This is one of my favorites
Damn you really need to watch more Babymetal stuff if this shocked you lol
Songs like this is why Babymetal stands alone, in the shadow of no-one.
Elles devraient être connue dans le monde entier au même niveau que Metallica, elles ont une puissance de feu phénoménale.

I can't believe that you still haven't reacted to Mägo de Oz - La Cantata del Diablo.

Not one of my favorites by any means but Su's vocals.. My word!! Chilling at times...
