Eggs in SV are NOT seeded. You can save BEFORE you start breeding, gather 60 eggs, hatch them, and if you don't get a shiny, soft reset and start over. They are NOT the same eggs each time. If you save AFTER you get the eggs, then they're set.

The sandwich thing was the nail in the coffin for me. I tried to like the game but it had too many flaws. I doubt I'll trade with Pokemon home into this version. I will say this though, they did have some unique Pokemon and it had a great ending but other than that.......
@@gamesmoney1025 honestly this generation is the funnest generation I've played. You can play with friends and just do whatever while in the same world, sandwiches are funny, and it's really fun to collect the Pokedex in this game since you can choose what pokemon you run into instead of waiting hours for a rare spawn rate (e.g. getting a melotic in ruby/Sapphire)
The older Version in SwSh was 4738384 Times faster, I got Like 10 eggs in 5 Minutes or less..

A little tip with finding ditto or zorora is look for pokemon that don't exactly make sense In that area like a group of pokemon but there's two fully evolved pokemon of the group but one isn't with the group

dittos can also show up on your minimap as a ditto, you just gotta figure out which one of the pokemon in the area he is
The most reliable method I've found has been to walk in front and watch for a reaction. Aside from Komala, Ditto, or Sudowoodo, all pokemon just outside of Medali have some sort of reaction marker (?, !, or panic droplets), so you can easily just detect ditto by whether they respond to your presence in any way. If all of them react, walk back into town and back out to instantly reload everything with minimal walking.
I read somewhere that when you hold ZL and look at Pokemon itll show you the name of the Pokemon. If you point it at a disguised Ditto itll show "Ditto" or "???" if you haven't Pokedex'd a Ditto yet
I feel like all I find are Zorua. Dittos are the hard ones to find for me

I don't know why but everyone forgets that Steam Engine also boosts the Hatching like Magma Armor or Flame Body
I wouldn't say people forgot it's just that ability is limited to one mon line as opposed to the abundance of just flame body or magma armor

You’re not getting 10 eggs at a time in the old way though, I get your point though. It does force you to stop playing the game for a while, but that may not be a bad thing
Also, there's no guy around to tell you "they don't like each other very much" or something similar.
And the eggs just magically appear in the basket with nothing having been done beforehand to get them there...

Male and female of the same egg group*, does not need to be the same pokemon for non ditto breeding. Eggs also seems to be placed in the box you last viewed despite having slots in party.

Have we found out how many eggs you'd get in one sitting with the proper pokemon & an Egg Power boost? I see you collected 10 in this video but is it possible to get more? Asking anyone else who can answer as well (Edit): Well I see that was already answered lol 10 is the limit, so what about how long it would take to get them? I suppose just 20-30 minutes
The time is faster depending on your egg power level buff from sandwich making
You can get 10 max in the basket but you can keep picking them up and sending them to the box so that you get more than 10 each time. There's no max number of eggs only the time limit on egg power sandwichs

I ended up getting a lvl 75 Ditto from a random trade when I was only two badges in lol…I’ve been breeding so much it’s such a distraction!

Can you breed a shiny with ditto and get a shiny and also can I breed ditto with a paradox Pokémon?
Shiny pokemon does not increase the chance of shiny eggs. Its the same random chance as if they weren't shiny. Paradox pokemon do not breed sorry.

Does the game need to be open or can I put the switch in sleep mode and have eggs when I jump back in later on in the day?
Game has to be open, and you can only get a maximum of 10 eggs in the basket
Let's say I want to breed one specific pokemon. Does the number of Pokemon in the party increase overall chances? (Like would 5 Quaxwells and a Ditto have higher egg rates than just one Quaxwell and a Ditto or would they have the same rate)
From what I understand is that the egg rates will be the same. 5 quaquavals would just make an egg for each of them, instead of 5 eggs from one quaquaval. But I haven't fully tested all the breeding mechanics myself. I'm talking from what I've seen in other videos
I'm going to make some assumptions, but it is likely the game does a check at set intervals then checks all possible breeding pairs at the same time. If that is the case, the best setup is 2 ditto, 2 males of the Pokémon you want, and 2 females of the Pokémon you want. With this setup there would be 12 checks instead of just five with one ditto and five of the Pokémon you want. If you only have one ditto (or one ditto with the IVs/Nature you want, then split the genders 2 of one and 3 of the other. This would trigger 11 checks which would still be twice as good as just five of one gender and a ditto.
Once again that is assuming that there isn't anything blocking a Pokémon from breeding more than once a check which I'm assuming isn't the case based off of this video.

the flame body mixed with dash and if you have something holding your jostick to the side then you dont need to sit there
It's only for a minute, you still need to press buttons after the egg hatches
Do you need to picnic with a full party of 6? Can you just have a ditto and one other Pokémon that you want to breed specifically?

This new method of breeding is infuriating - I’ve been picnicking for 20 minutes and no egg despite male female in the same egg group. Making sandwiches really is that important eh
For breeding you need to have eaten a sandwich with the ability/power that says like egg power or something like that

Wait, you have to set up a picnic and AFK? No way to let your Pokemon breed while you're off doing something else? That's sort of annoying.

On second thought, this is hands-down the most convenient Pokemon breeding method yet! I'm doing my first real breeding project right now: Ralts x Gastly, to obtain a catcher Gallade with Mean Look to stop things that try to run away. I put the two alone in my party, set up a picnic, made a Great PBJ for egg power 2 (only 3 slices of banana to place too, so it's quick and easy), and then went off to do other stuff. I returned to a basket full of eggs. Yes it takes a while, but so does running back and forth in front of the day care, and you can't AFK during that. This way also means you don't have to travel to the day care.
The only thing missing compared to the old way is the option to do other stuff in-game while you wait for them to breed. But even in gen 4 where they call you when there's an egg, it only queues up 1 egg at a time and you have to trek back and collect it before you can get another.
Also, it's super fast to hatch eggs if you put something with the Flame Body ability in slot 1, fly to Cortondo, go to the olive soccer field you did your gym test at, get on your sandwich-hungry bike, angle the stick so that it goes in circles on its own. I'd suggest taping the stick for AFK but stuff seems to hatch pretty fast this way, especially if you press the stick to dash.
Why the Cortondo soccer field? Because you need a large open area to circle without hitting anything. Most places either have people and buildings you'll hit, or wild Pokemon. There are other suitable places, but this was the first that came to mind.
I used your video to breed my ditto and chimchar, but my picnic table and everything is invisible 😭 Do you know if this is a glitch or if there’s anyway at all to make the table visible again?

Mind do I ask. But how many Switches do you have? The reason why I ask is that I notice some trainers evolve their Pokémon throughout trade evolution. For example, Haunter trade evolves to Gengar. Scythed evolved to Scizor. Electabuzz evolve to Electivire.

I've been trying to breed a male dreepy with a female mimikyu for half and hour even after boosting the egg power with a sandwich....
Is Breeding limited to a Ditto in Scarlet/Violet or am I doing something wrong?
Cause I've researched that both belong to the amorphous family...
Dreepy might not be able to breed because it's an early evolution. Might need to use drakloak or dragapult instead

Ok so this may sound Dumb But i gotta know since there were 2 Koraidon’s, Are Koraidon and Moraidon Breedable or No?, if they are then i must be doing something wrong
No you can't breed the legendaries or paradox pokemon. You have your Koraidon that you ride and the one you can catch in the area zero crater at the very bottom after you've beat the professor

What’s the point on making eggs for a Pokémon you already have? Does it make that new baby stronger like an imprint in ark as a example?
He doesn’t go over what breeding is for but it’s for getting stronger Pokémon, yes. Pokémon have these things called IV’s and if you look up some videos on “how to breed high iv Pokémon” it’ll show you what breeding is meant for
Better ivs, abilities or even to get a certain move a Pokémon doesn't learn normally only through breeding with another specific Pokémon in the egg group.
You can also use the egg hatching method to get shiny pokemon. :)
there are a few reasons. 1. shiny hunting, you can do the masuda method. (which is simply breeding a traded pokemon from a different country and a pokemon from your country which ups your shiny odds) you'll know the pokemons from another country by looking at its summary.
2. hatching a pokemon you have that your friend doesn't due to version exclusives, and offering to trade them for one of their version exclusives
3. every pokemon has a nature, some natures are terrible on certain pokemon though. let's say you get a +speed nature on a very slow pokemon. you can breed in hopes of getting a better nature. also as the person above said, getting pokemon with better IVs.
Many reasons, making competitive pokemon with the best IVs, breeding for a shiny pokemon or to try get the earliest evolution of a final stage pokemon that you caught. (Example: catch a snorlax, breed and get munchlax in eggs)
If I want a certain pkm is it the fat way to make like a 5 team set up with the same pokemon and one ditto in it or should I just go campning with 1 ditto and the Pokemon I wanna breed

I'm not certain about egg moves just yet. Haven't experimented myself yet
cheese, apple, banana, whipped cream, butter, and salt (Great sweet sandwich) gives lvl 2 egg power
Edit: the basket can only hold 10 eggs max so if u use lvl 2 egg power make sure to take out the eggs after 10 mins, if not u lose the opportunity to get more eggs in faster sense

Its usually to either try spawn a shiny pokemon or to get a baby that has best IVs and perfect nature

You need to make a sandwich with the Egg Power effect. Also you might need to evolve scorbunny so that it can breed, some don't breed in lower evolutions.

How many hours or days do you have to wait for an egg to be in basket. Keep checking basket but despite using ditto no eggs.
Should take about 2-5 minutes for an egg. If you don't get one then the pokemon you're trying to breed either can't be bred or needs to be evolved first

Does anyone know if spamming a on the egg basket prevents new eggs from being added? Like say I used a turbo controller to spam a while I make dinner will it just grab an egg every time there is one to grab or will it stop new eggs from going into the basket?

@@ConCon it does not work, I just decided to test it myself since I had some chores to do with the wife. Left a lvl 2 egg power sandwich on and hori splitpad pressing a on the basket constantly and when I came back and hour later I had a single egg in the boxes. So can confirm this does not work, you have to manually check the basket every couple of minutes if you want to get the max amount of eggs possible out of your sandwich.
Can I soft reset before receiving and hatching the eggs to get different hatches or will they be the exact same eggs? Wanted to start shiny hatching sprigatito and wanted to save on items to help keep shiny hatching without going broke.
Eggs are typically predetermined once the egg is made. I assume it's the same with this game
@@ConCon Awesome I can save before I start the egg boost and start earning eggs that way and soft reset if non of the eggs are shiny.

@@acoleman51096 It worked for me. Gotten 10 of nothing but males, but then after soft resetting before starting the egg boost again, I got 2 females on the first 5 sprigatito. It does work.

Nothing, it happens if it thinks the background is not going to work so it replaces it with a colour screen

I've been trying to hatch eggs with a tauros trying to teach a starly double edge. I have given the starly the mirror herb but so far I haven't gotten any eggs. Am I just having bad luck?
Egg moves are different in this game btw

@@ConCon I figured out what happened. The mirror herb method eventually gives the Pokémon in question the egg move without needing to breed. I had thought it worked differently somehow but either way It’s all set. Thanks for replying anyways

If I have a ditto with 31 IVs all around and another pokemon with 31 IVs all around, am I guaranteed to get perfect IVs every time when I breed those two?
No, you can only get a guaranteed 5 best IVs if the best IV Pokemon holds a destiny knot.

Doesn't matter, if the pokemon can breed then they will make eggs no matter the time
It's even more helpful if you change Ditto's nature with a mint to your desired nature so that the offsprings could have the same nature.
I don't believe it works that way. Natures are always random unless the a parent is holding an Everstone item, which forces that parent's nature onto the child
an easy way to get ditto is if you have sword or sheild ditto spawns in normal max raids so if you cant find one you can just bring a ditto to Pokémon home then to scarlet or violet

No they spawn in the basket over time if the pokemon in your party are able to breed. A sandwich with egg power will make eggs spawn in the basket faster

Those are hacked pokemon, they were generated. You can still breed with them though if you want.

No it does not affect shiny chances at all

Thank you i was confused on how egg breeding works in violet. I have a 6iv jpn ditto and a colossal all ready to got assuming the masuda is still a thing?
I think i like the nursery better imo
Nursery was simpler to use yeeah and yes masuda still works in picnic
@ConCon been doing alot of egg hatches but yet to see a shiny, doing the starters then probably exclusive up to trade evolution pokemon thx again
