Yup those electrolytics always need to be checked as they will destroy your board. It's also a good idea to do a complete PSU rebuild as that's the one device that can destroy your entire system at once, and it's also the part that it's sometimes worth junking for a modern replacement -- keeping a machine original just isn't worth it to preserve C='s dangerous cut-cost power supplies. Even if you fix it, it will just go out of spec. For your valuable vintage hardware it's probably a good idea to go with a no-expenses-spared PSU that has more safety features. In this case we'll hope it's just the caps and not too many traces got damaged.
It's better that you went ahead and acquired it as the 1st step, and now you can restore it to as-new condition again. Bravo! (I have a 4000T that I haven't turned on for ~20 years, but I'll be checking my motherboard caps 1st!)
I agree, so glad I found it and confident it will be repaired. The techy is confident and doesn't think it damaged much beyond what I showed. BUT in hindsight I wish I had it checked first.
I ve never seen this amiga, it s huge! i ve listened some people talking about it like a legend 😅, I hope that it could be fixable, by the way this computer is so rare and unique that is a piece of museum if it s brocken too
What no Diag Roms? I feel so cheated, it ain't dead till Diag says it is. =D (For the slower folks, Diag can pretty much run even with a CPU half blown. Very Similar to a PC bios, except the secret is to have a null modem and a usb to serial, fire up Putty as a tty and watch that info come across. ☺

Bummer, man! Best of luck and wishing a "speedy recovery" ;)
Thanks, me too!
Phew, for a moment there I thought that the power supply failed catastrophically. There still is hope!
My humble condolences with the A400T going on to the sick list. Good luck with the engineering to get it up and running again. Cheers
Your kind thoughts are appreciated. Im sure they will help. If not I will set up a GoFundMe page.
Good luck with getting it going again. It’s a thing of beauty
"My Amiga 4000T died."
"Don't forget to leave a thumbs up."
Hopefully the surgery went well and the patient is recovering.
Bummer 🥴. Hopefully all turns out well. BTW where can I buy a Commodore Cave TShirt? Love one!.

Thanks. I hope so too and will post a new youtube video when I get more info.
Yup, time for a vinegar bath, and a thorough capacitor replacement system.
I feel for you. As we have seen from Dr Chris channel a little TLC, experience and time and you can bring these back to life.
Indeed, Dr Chris can fix (almost) all of them!
Does he make house calls?
@@commodorecave5581 Haha, I don't think so 🙂 www.youtube.com/@ChrisEdwardsRestoration

Can it run on a motherboard that's missing traces?
interesting. so if the ESCOM A4000T's original caps are now causing actual harm, it kind of means that all SMD Amigas need immediate recapping.
6 months ago my 1200 lost an audio channel and got recapped, works now. Its a time bomb. My old 1000 is still kicking with og caps though
Good luck recapping! :)
Much to say about... A recap.
Glad you enjoyed it. Took my whole day to make it. Thanks for commenting.
Unfortunately this is always a risk with these old computers........
An acceptable condition.
No big deal, replace the Motherboard and swap all the chips over!
