The fact that you realise is beautiful I’m a mom and I wait for the moments when kids will do something themselves just like kids want their moms to pamper them moms also want same. They want to come to a neat home or have a meal cooked by their child especially when they grow up.

Yes even I was getting annoyed by the behaviour lol. Was empathising with your mum so much because having lived away from home for so many years, I have realised how hard it is for them to make food three times a day, all year. There are so many easy recipes to make like rice with tamarind paste (Puliogre), or Lemon rice. They’re all super easy to make. Literally just make the rice and then mix it. Another option was that you could have ordered food on Swiggy or Zomato if that was possible/not too expensive from near by places. This time the laziness was just too extreme 😅😅 If I were in your mum’s place, I’d be so angry that you’re continuing to record when I’m scolding… Living alone/away from home indeed teaches us a lot of life lessons. Makes us realise the hard work done by our mothers and how we took it for granted. I used to literally dislike hot idlis when my mum made it for my school lunch box, but now those same hot idlis when I make it at home in the USA, I eat them like it is God’s prasad like OMG HOT IDLIS reminds me of home and it’s so tasty 😅😅 It makes me feel so bad that I didn’t realise and value it then.
