Every one of your outfits are a hit. The Jiffy cotton sateen dress is black tie worthy. I would never have picked out the lantern pants, but seeing them on you I love them. The vintage simplicity fabric and dress is darling. I’ve always been attracted to boat necks. I wore jumpsuits in the late 60s early 70s and dreaded going to the restroom. Now that I’m older I would never be able to handle it. It did look wonderful on you. For thinking you got a slow start sewing last month, you sure put the pedal to the metal and made quite a few wonderful outfits. I would love to see the return of the Vivmom sisters in TH-cam again.

I just LOVE LOVE LOVE your 1970 dress! It's as fashionable as ever, and like you said, it can be dressed up or down depending on material! The last one really got me - I adore that Vintage Simplicity patterned fabric!! Before one sees close up what they are, it looks from a distance like a bunch of colors.
Your finished garments always look 100% better than the drawings on the pattern fronts! It's your fabric choices that make all the difference. Very talented lady!

There is one thing I would say about the drape of the fabrics. The lantern pant has too much room in it. The fit on that pant is difficult especially when you have to fit yourself. Wish I lived closer to you I could Fit that for you. I am a custom tailor and my Specialty is fit. You do a great job but some things are impossible To do alone. Plus the Number of items you sew is amazing. Plus the fabric from mood. Absolutely beautiful. You made that fabric come to life . You should enter that in a competition somewhere. Thanks for all your inspiration.
These just couldn’t get any cuter! You just need a straw hat for some of those and you are at a summer party! Also the Simplicity 8793 two piece dress, fabric so unique and beautiful and also loved the dress made as a tunic. I made my granddaughter pillow cases from the simplicity vintage fabric and she loves them. She’s nineteen but loves vintage style. Thanks for sharing with us.
I have the fabric from the first dress in two colors. Got the pattern too The fabric is sooooooooo fabulous. I am not over stating this because this is the best cotton garment fabric. Love the color blocking too. Nice sewing Viv.
Green really does suit you! All of these were wonderful! It's not wasting time, it's gearing up. Just because some of us are gearing up at the base of a steep mountain . . . . once we get going, we're fine! Right now, I would be putting in the zipper in a gauzy brown and blue plaid skirt, but I misplaced my ONLY navy zipper -- that I had just a moment ago! Of course, I would misplace it, I'm in the sewing room. The only place in the world that loses nearly as many things is the laundry room -- specifically the dryer. List of places where things are lost and never to be found: 1. The sewing room, 2. the dryer, 3. the laundry room, 4. the hamper, 5. the space between the car door and the (elementary) school door, 6. Bermuda. Love these outfits! Beautiful fabric pairings!!
Yes! The misplacing! It is a daily occurrence around here and I think, “am I this forgetful NOW? What the heck is 65 or 70 going to look like?!” It’s gonna be bad. You always give me a smile, Michelle, thanks.

All are super duper lovely and fit you so good! Love the strappy black shoes. The boat neck is my favorite, but they always want to go clear off my shoulders. I haven't sewn for about 3 days!!! I feel like a fish out of water! I did manage to buy 25 yards of fabric from FMF, so all is not lost.
Flattering color/pattern on first dress! Tunic color block is cute, too. Yes try one with three fabrics. Only you can get away with the third style/fabric. Great Tee and fabric too.you are sure adventurous when you match fabric and patters! Look good in everything!

Although my time has mostly been alloted to finishing a quilt I started, I worked up the gumption to make a blouse after watching several of your postings. I went with a slightly stretchy white poplin. Beautiful but when I saw all the fun Fabric you've used I want to finish my blouse quickly and have the same fun with. Thank you for keeping it fun! I just love all the outfits! After several days I did little sewing today. We are on vacation down in Florida. I had to get unpacked and then set up my sewing space. I want to make my project when I get home to try my hand at color blocking. Just want to try maybe a simple tank top. However until then spending time with my precious grandchildren, sewing, and just chilling.
Viv, I loved all the outfits that you sewed this month but like others I am sure had some favorites. My favorite was the black and white striped two piece skirt and top, it looked so good on you and the way the you placed flowers on the skirt was very clever. The others were very pretty and all looked beautiful on you and the last dress with the vintage Simplicity fabric is wonderful. Well I must say you make any pattern look great!! Luckily I saved all my 1960’s pattern but did not keep my youthful figure, where did my waist go? Great job putting the right fabric with the pattern’s!!
Love them all! I have some of those patterns but have not made them yet. My personal favorites are the linen jumpsuit and the last vintage dress made with that wonderful simplicity fabric. You know how to fit you and your makes show it. Hugs!

I think a network should design a show or someone reading the comments here who knows exactly how to make it fun and interesting using store patterns and every week several sewers get to pick the pattern and pick the fabric and sew some cool clothes to show how imaginative we can get at home...and Vivmom-you be the host!

I think a network should design a show or someone reading the comments here who knows exactly how to make it fun and interesting using store patterns and every week several sewers get to pick the pattern and pick the fabric and sew some cool clothes to show how imaginative we can get at home...and Vivmom-you be the host!
