    Good review. I appreciate your attention to detail. Battery life “anxiety” was a deal breaker for me… returned it for a GW Pro 5. Solid 2 days with AOD and all features on whereas I had to baby the pixel watch for a full day. I liked the functionality and looks of the Pixel Watch better, just the battery… disappointing.

      Makes perfect sense. It's been the only part I truly dislike. Everything else has met my expectations for a Gen 1 device.

    I've also been a big Fitbit user. The pixel watch is the first with Fitbit and the only reason I haven't had a smart watch before this

    Thanks for the review. Was frustrated with my new watch and almost ready to return it but your video inspired me to try it again. One question...did you have the Watch app from Google on your phone or did you run thru the Fitbit phone? I'm having trouble syncing and I have a pixel phone!

    • @StephenHelwigTalksTech
      @StephenHelwigTalksTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Deborah, thanks for watching. I used both apps, but for synching activity information I exclusively use the Fitbit app. A few things to try. 1. Make sure Bluetooth is turned on your phone your watch is connected. 2. Reboot your phone and the watch. 3. Go through the reconnection process of the watch to the phone.

    music is too loud, but i appreciate your thoughts on the Pixel Watch

    • @StephenHelwigTalksTech
      @StephenHelwigTalksTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. I agree. If I could repost it I would take the music down a few decibels. Sometimes the mix sounds good while editing and then once posted to TH-cam it gets adjusted and doesn't sound good. I appreciate you watching and commenting.

    Thanks. Great review. Suggestion....either lower or get rid of the music. Totally unneeded.

      @StephenHelwigTalksTech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Jeff. Thanks for watching. Yep, as I mentioned in other comments, music levels were poorly mixed and didn't realize until after it was live. TH-cam doesn't allow me to replace. I have shifted how I edit for future videos. Thanks again for the constructive feedback and for watching.

    Great review!! How much battery life were you getting with it after it had learned your routines etc and settled down so to speak?

    • @StephenHelwigTalksTech
      @StephenHelwigTalksTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. If I use the bedtime mode, I get a consistent 24 hours. It's much more consistent than my Pixel 6 Pro honestly.

    Wow, thanks so much for your review! Your circumstances were almost exactly as mine currently. I'm trying to decide whether to replace my Fitbit Sense (which I've had for quite a while) to the Pixel.. or wait til 2nd Gen. I was excited that Pixel recognizes Fitbit app, but then so disappointed that I won't be able to keep multi devices in 1 account. Because of the poor battery life, I thought I was gonna be able to use one during the day, and another for the sleep time.
    I think I'll be getting the Pixel now. Thanks again! 😊

    • @StephenHelwigTalksTech
      @StephenHelwigTalksTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that one feature would be killer, however I will say the speed at which it charges is quite good. You can get back to 50-80% in under 20 minutes. It hasn't been as bad as I thought, but would still love the multi device capability.

    Comparison would be better with Sense which is under versa. But good review.

    • @StephenHelwigTalksTech
      @StephenHelwigTalksTech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the comment. Glad you enjoyed it.
      Agreed the Sense is a closer comparison, but since I have never owned a Sense I wanted to be true to my real world experience. The Sense and Versa run the same OS I believe, so from an App Ecosystem perspective there isn't a ton of difference. The key difference are the extra sensors in the Sense over the Versa. From that perspective the Sense and Pixel are on par, but WearOS is far superior in function.

      Thanks Ryan. Yep messed up the mix and didn't realize until after it was posted. Unfortunately TH-cam won't let me update the video. Would have to upload a whole separate copy. I have corrected for future videos. Thanks for watching and for sharing your feedback. Will continue to learn and improve as a self taught creator.

    How do you turn on the automatic workout detection?

    • @StephenHelwigTalksTech
      @StephenHelwigTalksTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      As long as you have Fitbit setup it will work. Once your heart rate and movement gets to a certain point it will detect it.

      Absolutely. I screwed up the mix in post trying to get the LUFs right. Wish TH-cam would let me upload a fresh copy, but unfortunately I am unable to. Sorry about that.

    Aquiring Fitbit was never about making better products, it was about eliminating competition. Let's be honest.

    • @StephenHelwigTalksTech
      @StephenHelwigTalksTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      I am unsure that Google really viewed them as steep competition. I think Google would view Apple and Samsung as their competition in this space. Google has floundered in the Fitness App and Smart Watch space up to this point, so this acquisition has certainly jump started that effort while also giving them an established Fitness network and device portfolio. So far I'm happy with the fruit of the acquisition.

    • @CalleoPelias
      @CalleoPelias ปีที่แล้ว

      @@StephenHelwigTalksTech Fitbit was one of the first fitness tracker companies, and I was their customer since the beginning. When google bought them several years ago, it was for the user data. Now that most Fitbit customers (like me) have fled to other companies, they're forced to sell the piece of junk pixel watch, and when that fails, they'll probably try to aquire another company, because that's all they know how to do, destroy competition and user trust.

    I can't hear you properly so I stopped watching. Mic is bad and music in background too loud

    • @StephenHelwigTalksTech
      @StephenHelwigTalksTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Just a sub par mix. Nothing wrong with the mic. Music got pushed too loud when mixing the audio.
