The pump can still pump and not work it works at high psi 30 to 45 psi when working properly when broken works at low psi it make a huming noise but have low psi and just to mess with you head it still feeds the high pressure pump so gives you the impression it's working ,it took me a week to figure this out so hopefully other people don't end up pissed of and covered in diesel
Hi Anton - thanks so much for the video - I was very glad to find you!... My Freelander 2 Diesel Auto 2007 is stuck in another country because it broke down and they couldn't repair it. They tried to fix an issue with the lock and the car just went dead - immobiliser!! It would not move at all. Next garage - spent another fortune - they got the electric back on, put a new battery in but now the (not sure which) pump is not supplying diesel. It all started by the car going into limp mode while driving on a couple of occasions, then lost oomph . The mechanic now tells me it could cost 3K to repair the pumps - they don't know which one it is... do you have any advice at all please? I want to get it back but have little confidence tbh... Any advice would be hugely appreciated. Thanks ever so much!
OK I will try and persuade the garage again - they insist on trying the low pressure one under the hood first - he says that the small pump is difficult to get out... he doesn't speak English so there is a language problem on top of it - THANK YOU so much for responding though! Hi aaanton11,When stripping the pump and filter could you please tell me what is the small looking little pump which nobody mentions,It has diesel pipe on either end? My pump went,or so i thought but i have tried 2 new pumps (The second being a pierberg) and my pump is still raging away,This isnt a hum like it should be (and the pierberg is supposed to be silent) its a raging buzz that you can hear from 3/4 cars away ☹ I have a little misfire and slight hesitation when driving,Acceleration is good when foot is down but when you hit cruising speed 50-60 for me you get a slight hesitation again,Im not fussy about the noise but its not right,This pump is screaming just like the previous ones? Im gettin nowhere fast here aaanton11 but im still very curious about that little hanging pump,Looks like something out of a fish tank? But no one mentions it or pays it any attention? My pump sounds like it needs calming down on voltage as sometimes the buzzing will get louder with the revs,Sorry for monologue but you have helped me on just about every car ive owned over the last 7-8 years so thank you aaanton11,Top bloke. I forgot to mention i have egr blank fitted too.

@@aaanton11 Hi Is it the diesel fuel heater pump by chance he talks of being the second pump/ I just changed my bigger pump and filter but never touched the smaller pump. The only question I have is a single wire with a spade terminal corroded enough to break it away, where from I cant find. A great helpful video thanks/ A 76 year old still getting my hands dirty.
Hi just to add to your video I changed my pump and filter, all a could hear was air so I disconnected it and yes no diesel in the pump or filter so I reversed the flow and pump air in to the tank .then turned the pump round then primed then it started my conclusions are shit in the tank blocking the tank feed I hope this helps any one who had this problem

Error code refers to a fuel feed problem but my repair shop seems clueless and we'll probably have to start changing out parts on spec. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Hello , i have a freelander 2 ,2007 with a 2.2 diesel engine , the car goes off when i am driving sometimes ,and i have to restart it again, i have changed some sensors ,but it still gives me the same problem ,the computer last time showed the phase sensor problem i changed it and still the same, i am not finding the problem ,some mechanics have told me its the tank pomp problem but i dont know , i would appreciate if you would respond

This is a low pressure pump, feeding the high-pressure pump at the front of the vehicle so as long as you have a good flow, it is working okay Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

i have both pump? i’ve lifted seats and have a intank pump & one behind wheel liner…
