Baby gorilla Sumomo is loved and cared for by her family | Gorilla Haoko Family

Filmed in April 2023, at Ueno Zoo (Tokyo).
Baby gorilla Sumomo is loved so much by her family.
She was surrounded and cared for by her mother Momoko and sister Komomo.
Then Her brother Riki came and tried to kidnap Sumomo, but Sumomo hid behind Komomo's back.
After that Riki took Sumomo for while but Sumomo soon walked back to Komomo by herself.

Komomo is such a great daughter. She cares and loves her sister Sumomo like a Mom but she brings Sumomo to sit next to their Mother. I love this gorilla family. Komomo is wonderful with Sumomo. Thank you for the video.

Why isn’t Riki’s name similar to his Mothers name? We’ve got Momotaro, KoMomo, Momoka , Sumomo, then RIKI? What’s the story?

I too have wondered about this, lol; I assumed that Riki was named to honor someone? Likewise in D’Jeeco troop there’s Ringo! I doubt he’s named for a Beatle

On a different channel, I was told that sometimes wealthy contributors pay to sponsor an upcoming birth of a baby and because of that, they are given opportunity to name the new baby Gorilla.
