Alex.. I think $130 for GH Universal Hotel, better u choice to Swiss-belhotel Dago Heritage.. Its amazing view with infinity pool and golf course and every room have a bathtub.. i lived in indonesia for a quite long time and despite the fact that i've adapted with the weather there, air conditioner is still a deal breaker for me😂
I really recommend you to stay at Savoy Homan Hotel at Asia Africa street (its near Braga street), its price is less than $100 but the place was so cool. The room size was so big that include a kitchen inside. It also inclue a big bathroom with bathtub. And also your food is served at a huge hall on the first floor.
For $130 I think you can get a much better option like Padma Hotel for the spectacular view, Swiss-Belresort for the well-known infinity pool, Art Deco Luxury Hotel for the Jacuzzi Suite, or maybe just choose Savoy Homann Hotel because it's historical
The $13 room has electricity meter since it is used for monthly rent. No air-conditioning is also quite common for student's room. Usually, it is rented for college students in Bandung. Bandung is famous as city of students as it has many big universities with city much smaller than Jakarta. This kind of accommodation can be found easily in Bandung. For $13 per day, I bet that this accommodation will be about $200-$300 per month for students and it is quite premium student's room. It explains why your room is quite clean.
The Motel 6 by the freeway is over $100 on most days. It never gets old seeing how cheap everything as there. I can't wait until I move there myself. Thank you for your great videos, and price comparison.
Being cooler than Jakarta I could probably survive in the cheap hotel for a night or 2, there seem to be to many rules for my liking at the expensive hotel and the fail on the room service would be a no for me, I'd probably find an airbnb apartment for about 40 dollars a night and spend the extra cash on food XD
Wont choose both. lol No AC is a big no.. As for the 2nd hotel, design interior and the no pro camera rules are kinda meh.. I would prefer something in between, a 30-40$ hotel with proper AC and good location. Btw Bandung also have one of the better capsule hotel called Bobobox, you should try it next time.. It's completely different from the surabaya one
i am pretty sure that $13 is not a hotel, it is more a dorm house for students and workers, there are a lot like that around that area. and in bandung those dorm houses usually don't provide an AC except it has no window at all, coz it is already cold at night. Especially the dorm houses located in dago atas... And about the GH, well most people come there becoz of the "instagrammable exterior", but they prefer sheraton or swiss belresort to stay which have pretty similar rates per night. Or one of the most expensive: padma hotel bandung, it has a heated infinity swimming pool with a great view.... You could find it in ubud too.
imo as an Indonesian, a $13 hotel is usually a pretty low quality hotel, but I was surprised that it was pretty good and clean even without AC. some area in Bandung, it's already cool.. You don't need to turn the AC..
For a few nights... The cheap one is fine. 130 usd is too much... I think bangkok was a bit less.. 90 usd at the Novatel... Not as swank.. But great views.
I'll prob choose the middle option, around $70 to $90 😂
hahah man i should of done a middle option! 😆😆
Bamdung is usually cold place.. so sometime aircon is not required..
I've been to an expensive hotel in Ciawi Bogor...it's big, n it's nice, but the room service sucks. And i remember i was angry half days because we pay a lot n no one answer my calls. So that's the real problem with big famous hotel with many rooms.
I would pay $20 for the smaller hotel if it had AC and an English speaking employee. :)
Yeah but Ade can translate for you haha
@@alexandwhite TRUE 😂 or I should probably just finally learn Indonesian
where are you going on your next trip bro? i recommend Komodo island,Raja ampat,Bromo mountain or Borobudur temple
You can actually stay at crowne plaza in Braga for IDR600k or about USD45/night
Can you request a little fan from the receptionist? Maybe they provide it with a little extra money
around bale endah for 13$+ you can get monthly stay

In the old days Hotel Preanger bandung's bakery made most delicious brownies I ve ever eat. I dont know this days. You should try staying at Padma , they have afternoon tea as well... When does this covid passes ?? I missed breakfast buffet fiest n glory..🥲 no hotel serves complete buffet to minimize cross contamination
Thank you for the memories of Bandung. They sold me a room with a carport for $1.10 more - 2007. I first replied: "I don't even drive in Australia." Then I paid the $1.10 more!. Cheers🥃 from Adelaide👍
I prefer in the middle hotel cost about 70 USD
i will have to do that video next time haha
