At least it was Kevin, not his brother Leroy. And someone should really subcontract Kevin as 'outsourced security'. With such a rigid bureaucracy there must surely be some loopholes to be exploited. Maybe Kevin can create a private corporation with himself as the sole proprietor (you are not hiring an unclassified alien, you are are outsourcing to a company called Kevin).
Well, if it's a security system, you assign him a handler, employ him as the extraterrestrial equivalent of a guard dog, pay the handler an additional "maintenance cost" for the "guard dog" and but in reality, that's what they're paying Kevin. You're probably also making the handler someone Kevin gets along with.
I like this for a few reasons, many obvious, but maybe the one that tickles me the most is that this is also the introduction of one of my favorite HFY character, Kirk.
Humans are from a Class-12 Deathworld. Hmmm... perhaps even I, at my 117 pounds, could beat the snot out of one of the "hunters". Or perhaps better yet called, "the hunted"....

I love the chapter where the hunters try to teach humanity fear Spoiler: and basically reveal the existence of alien life by by trying to take on two professional hockey teams. It went badly for them.

Aaaand using weapons that make Nerf and paintball guns look like the pinnacle of weapons development. Someone has got to put these stories into a series (not Hollywood, they can’t be trusted not to “woke” it into oblivion), except since they keep getting posted to Reddit, I don’t know if it’s possible to figure out how to pay off the authors. PS, I keep picturing John Boyega as Kevin, as he’s good actor and I was rather annoyed by how his character was treated by the his studio. Hyped as a key character in the new trilogy and he was turned into a side-kick/joke at best.

The next story in the series, the Hunters make the mistake of dropping into the middle of a hockey game between the Vancouver Canucks and Arizona Coyotes... full-power Hunter pulse guns are no worse than a good check, so they just piss off the hockey players, who proceed to smear the Hunters all over the ice. 😀
As much as I appreciate the effort put into this story I have to admit to a large amount of frustration...since I could only hear a part of it ( yeah...I'm getting old and so is my hearing ). But I have to ask...why go to the bother of including the text if it cant even be read ?
