What an amazing interpretation !
This is probably one of the best renditions of this song I've heard. Really tapping in to the emotions and narrative of the lyrics, almost approaching it like a musical number.
Joni Mitchell is a great song writer and performer, but I'd say this version takes it one step further.
Judy Collins did the best version but this is a very close run thing.
Have you seed coda? Such a great film. And the girl in it, si gs it so beautifully.

Her voice is horrible. She has no talent, not a good voice, she is tone-deaf and so off pitch, it hurts my skin to listen to her. It's embarrassing how bad she is. Guess ignorance is bliss.

There's loads of disagreement on whether Mel has a good voice. Most of the people who say she doesn't say that her voice isn't right for the songs. Now this, this is a song for Mel C...Her voice sounds amazing singing this, and she does an amazing job, it's like it was written for her and I just don't understand how some people can't see that; whether they like her voice or not.

As a guy in is early 40's ( doh lol ) I grew up with The Spice Girls, not being a young girl at the time they were not really my thing, but listening to Mel C I cant help but think wow....IMPRESSIVE, she gets so much feeling into her singing...not a spice girls fan.. but certainly a Mel C fan....I will visit her website and buy the album.....

I was a generation (or maybe 2) too old to really pay much attention to the Spice Girls. Only very recently while researching various songs, did I discover the wonderful post-Spice music of Melanie C.. My only regret is how many years I've been deprived of hearing Melanie's truly angelic stylings and, well, she is also jaw-droppingly gorgeous. Those eyes. That smile. Those interpretive gestures. That voice. Sensational.
My daughter watched them . Mel was the group with the little Blond, whose name escapes me at the moment.If you look at their videos you will see that those 2 did most of the singing. Her voice has so much power .There is another edit of this that shows her going to Zambia in 2013 to raise money for young kids there . The video is just incredible.

Melanie is SO underrated as a solo artist, it's unreal. She has an incredible voice, I love so much of her solo material and this is one of my favourite songs of all time that she's covered perfectly! Just wish Radio stations would get on board and play/promote her music - real, genuine talent.
