Congratulations Suzie! Your time was amazing, and it looked like such a fun time winding down at the after party with beer and friends. Hope y'all had an amazing brunch!
Brunch was great, but it ended up being way too late to call is a brunch haha.😀 Thanks for watching and for your generous donation for Team Muscle Makers!
Smiling all the way though the race and that big push at the end. BRAVO!! Hot running is no joke!! * just saw on news someone died at the finish line. So sad.
Very sad. The organizers had sent an email the day before reminding people of the situation and what they should do. I was getting two cups of water at the water stations after mile 7. And I took advantage of the sprinklers. The heat was no joke.
The footage came out really crisp and nice! You did well! I lost about 5 minutes as well from what I thought I could do if not for the heat / humidity that day. It's fun to see the stadium too, I never go in there afterwards. Great job all around!
Congratulations, Suzie, on another great race! You clearly pushed yourself to your max and gave your best on the day with the conditions you were given. Super proud of you for tackling a challenging race. You will get that 2 hours soon enough on a cooler day!
I know. I am not worried at all (how's that for self confidence? Lol) Thanks for supporting me Jane! It's great to hear the thought from other people who know their stuff like you do!!
Yeap. I am very happy. It was a great day, got to catch up with friends and meet new ones and am proud of myself for giving it my all. And that's it. 🙂 I still want to get faster though, I am not giving up. This just wasn't the day.
🥰🥰🥰 Honestly, this could have ended being an awful day... but we all had fun and finished safely, which is a fantastic outcome. 😀 Thank for watching my sweet friend
Oh man that looked tough! You did a great job running any kind of race in that weather. Huge congratulations on it and the awesome video as well. That really captures the excitement of the race. And also, you got to wear your amazing pink shoes!!
Hahaha. I thought of you because with the fog the ground was kind of wet, and there were still puddles from the rain overnight. I thought you'd comment about the shoes 🙂. They are fun shoes to racs with, and they certainly make racing easier. I am only a bit sore on my quads and slightly on my hammies.
@@IRunThings That's so funny! Thanks for thinking of me.😄It was very warm and humid here too and I did 10 miles yesterday but I crawled like a turtle. I couldn't imagine racing in that. May you have many more great races in them.
Thank you!!! 2h14 is really good. I was a 2h14 runner till recently. It is just as hard as a 2h05 and sometimes even more. I can attest to that! Did you run yesterday?? 🙂
Oh hey, I actually saw myself in this a few times. haha! Great job finishing! It was disgusting out there. But we were lucky we finished before noon. Apparently, about a couple dozen people got hospitalized. Good luck on the marathon training! I am doing the same right now for the NYC marathon. It'll be my first marathon.
Oh very cool that you saw yourself 😊 I ran NYC Marathon last year. It's hillier than you'd expect. Train hills. And if you have any questions I might be able to answer them. Good luck and keep us posted with how things go!
@@IRunThings hey, thanks for the info. Yeah, I heard there's a lot of hills in the race. Makes sense since you'll go up a few bridges and then there's more hills along the way. And yeah, definitely. I try to keep track of my progress as best as I can.
Go Suzie! What a epic race. It looks like it had such a awesome atmosphere you really captured it well. 😊👍🏻 Such a solid result in the heat too! Kudos to you! 😎🤘🏻
Really love this video. I’ve seen all your race videos but this one was perfect. I enjoyed that you showed from beginning, mid and end to Finish line, and not too much it was perfect bits. This video had me feeling as if I was running too! I felt all the emotions even the tough heat. Good job! PS. You look great Susie and love the outfit!
Awww. This is such a nice comment!!! Thank you SO MUCH!!🥰🥰🥰 This was a tough race due to the temperatures, and honestly I pushed myself hard and am super happy with the result. And I had LOADS of fun. You can't ask for more.
I am super proud of my 2:05:52. This is probably the proudest I've been of myself with a race. I gave it my all and pushed to the max, and I was smiling all the way and had loads of fun. I really couldn't have asked for more. 🙂
@@runningwithdr.andrewdpt9177 probably. But life is never about perfect conditions. I have to keep training hard so I can go under 2hours even when the conditions are tough. And I will. I want to get faster, and I want to have fun. I want both
Great race and really enjoyed the energy of the video! Must be difficult running in the heat when you aren't used to it - spare a thought for people like me who only ever get to run in hotter and more humid conditions every day of the year!! Happy running👍
@@IRunThings Thank Gosh he wasn't speaking to you, Suzie. lol Frankly, even if he knew the woman, what an uncomfortable time to ask her. She may have a run plan, headphone music, trying to catch up to a friend, etc., and yet he's running right next to her and asks her then? What's she gonna say, "Next time ask me before the race. Now, buzz off." Men...can't live with them, can't live without them LOL
Yeah it was weird. But they were behind me for a while (about 2 miles) and he was encouraging her and telling her about the turns ahead, the downhills and uphills. I don't know the exact situation obviously, and it did seem weird but it looked to me like he had run it several times and she was new to running. I think he was trying to help but formulated the question in a weird way.
This was not a race to come underprepared, underfueled or underhydrated. It was rough. Now, he could also have had some medical issue he didn't know about. I feel so very sorry for the family. It's a tragedy.

I thanks Chris, your video us very crisp too! Which GoPro do you use?
@@IRunThings I have the 10, ended up using it without a selfie stick so it was nice and small to hold.
Nice. I have the insta360 go2. It's tiny. And I have a selfiestick that is all plastic and super light as well
Nice work, Suzie! So cool to see you smile through almost the whole race!
Thanks Dave! It wasn't intentional. I just was in a great mood... 🙂🙂🙂🙂
Great job!!!

Congratulations 👊🏾👏🏾🏅 very tough race with the humidity and the heat.
It was tough but I got it done and I am super proud. Thanks for watching! 😊
Great run! Strong performance Suzie! I'm glad you finished before you overheated! These temperatures are challenging! Keep pushing!
Yes they are!!! I'll keep on going! 🙂 Thanks for watching!
Great Job! Sounds like it was a tough race due to weather. Thank you for vlogging- amazing that you kept smiling too. 🎉
It was tough. But I got it done and I was proud of my finish time too. I pushed hard, really as hard as I could without making my potato explode
Congrats Suzie, your time is amazing!!! this run looks so great. I love the last part of the run and the after party....
The after party makes it all worth it in this race. Thanks Consueel ❤️
I loved watching this race. It looked like you really enjoyed it (aside from the heat!!).
Yeap. I had a blast. Long day though. I woke up at 3.15am. Brooklyn is a hike for me. But it was all worth it
Congrats! It was a TOUGH one!
They are all hard in one way or another 😅😅
Fantastic racing!!! The camera was so steamy in the beginning it really let us feel the humidity! WTG pushing through; it can’t have been easy!
I redlined the whole last mile. My heart rate went up to 192. I can say I couldn't have gone ANY faster

So fun, Suzie. 🏃🏻♀At 2:54, why did some odd guy ask "Can I run the whole race with you?" Who would do that during the race!?

Hi! How did you get in to the race? Like did you apply via lottery? Is that the only way? New runner/nyrr member here😅
If you volunteer at the Brooklyn half you get a guaranteed entry for the following year. That's how I got in
ABC7NY (on TH-cam) reported that a 30 year old collapsed and died at the finish line just before 9am. Ouch. CBS says it was at 9:30 and he was 32.
