- As I walked past The Apple Barrel Bar on Frenchmen St. on Sept. 15, 2019, I heard some killer blues guitar. So I walked in and found this talented young lady, Ghalia Vauthier (stage name Volt). I asked her to play some Elmore James and she obliged.

I haven't seen Ghalia in New Orleans lately as she is constantly touring (although I think she performed at this year's French Quarter Festival). She seems to tour Europe every summer (she is from Belgium) so you may have a chance to see her live Dave. What is amazing is that when I filmed this she was playing in a tiny dive bar on Frenchmen St. to an audience of maybe 6 people, including me. I immediately recognized her talent and remarked to the others in bar that she was a world class talent and to tip accordingly. Unfortunately I could not linger as I was on my way to see Tuba Skinny at The Maison.

James - I've looked at a few of your videos now and you're camera work is really good - way better than almost all of the stuff I see on "the tube" - your sound recording is excellent as well which sounds crazy for music videos but your stuff really is good
Thanks William! I do my best with limited skills and equipment. All of my videos are done on my cell phone with no external mic. I have used an LG V20 the past couple of years. The video is not as good as my old Samsung Note 4 but I bought it because of the sound quality. Unfortunately, my hearing is not what it was in my youth so the increased audio quality is lost on me, but it is good to hear from others that it is OK.
