Where else can you go from Adrian Legg to Dave Cobb to Jake E Lee, to Tom Morello, to Tom Bukovac, to Jason Isbell, to Doug Wimbish, Duane Betts, to Uli Jon Roth, to Phil X, to G.E. SNL was sold to another company, the atmosphere changed, there came some corporate guys with clipboards, and many people were fired that year. I was upset at first, it cost me a lot of money, but later on I realized I got freedom to move forward. Check the 2 hrs. interview on TH-cam. It's a treat. I remember the video he made a few years back playing Bloomfield’s hacked up Tele. GE really has a lot of admiration and respect for Michaels playing. They are both in the same boat as players. Both monsters of the instrument yet relatively unknown outside of the guitar community. Mr. Smith you are the genuine article! It’s awesome to have TH-cam these days and be able to see these videos of you playing. As a teenager I loved seeing you on SNL playing tasty licks and showcasing all of those gorgeous vintage guitars. At that time it was my only access to drooling over a black guard Tele or a 58 V etc. Thank you so much!
