easily one of the greatest things i’ve ever heard. I go back to songs from this show constantly. There isn’t a better video on TH-cam. This IS History , my brothers and sisters… Pure Jerry. I could just kiss whomever made this video. Thank you so much. There is nothing better than this. If there’s anything negative in these comments( i’m almost afraid to look), then that person is an idiot and i feel so sorry for them. There’s no real musician that wouldn’t appreciate this. Irving Berlin would be thrilled. “ It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing”-😉Duke Ellington
I keep coming back to this night.. and this Russian Lullaby certainly is one of my favorite Jerry moments I've ever heard. One of the few songs I could listen too on repeat for a while.. lots to digest.
i’m all grown up, sunshine. Raised on music. What’s keeping you so so happy and positive? I’m 52 and I wake up happy to be alive at least 50% of the time. What am i supposed to do, in the infinite wisdom of your estimation..? Get to the point where I can’t appreciate life- sustaining art/ music…? I’m just curious what you think i need to grow up to be..? A jerk that doesn’t appreciate shot and has nothing better to do than step on other people’s sincere enthusiasm. cCome on now, if 😅m doing this Life thing wrong( I didn’t get an instruction manual when i was born).. when i grow up, am i supposed to be like you? If you’ve got something wild, original and amazing going on- how bout sharing it with the rest of us… Yeah it’s just music, it’s just Love, it’s just sex, it’s just eating agood meal, it’s just being inspired, it’s just Life… but what are we comparing shit to here… cuz either you’ve got some wisdom that ur burning to share .. or ur just being a wiseass and doing no service to any of us . Why don’t YOU grow up and share something positive with the world… please tell me what i should be more enthusiastic about…🤷🏻cuz if it’s just the standard grow up and be miserable to be alive bit- i happily decline…enlighten me , please..,
I'm currently trying to tab this out and planning to post it on Ultimate Guitar. Garcia's playing here is even more intricate and impressive when examined under a microscope.
The winter 1980 JGB tour was one of the finest they ever did - almost every song was 15 minutes or longer - epic versions of tunes like Russian, Simple Twist of Fate, Dear Prudence, Harder They Come, and last but not least, the debut of After Midnight>Eleanor Rigby>After Midnight sequence
No matter what he showed up and put out 100% a lot of tension in there if you listen closely made for a great song
Lovely.
His genius was his wide range of musical influences. To take a 1927 Irving Berlin song and make it his own, I mean, come on now. How sweet is that

Cannot handle opposing views…Jerry would be ashamed
ironically - the only negative comment i noticed was your quote..." then that person is an idiot" lol

Hahaha same here! I'm a latecomer. Never did witness Jerry, had a bunch of chances.
