Robert’s scream was more of a war cry… the song is about Vikings raiding the coastal towns of Britain. The Norse mythology made this song perfect for use in Thor: Ragnarok… “hammer of the gods” “Valhalla I am coming”. There is a good live version on YT with audio recorded in California in 1972 with bootleg footage from another concert. It was an official Zeppelin release on the “how the west was won” live CD, and the Led Zeppelin dvd. Great reaction as always man, if you like the heavy feeling of this song but want more, try “Achilles last stand” I would recommend the live version from knebworth 1979 as the studio version always gets blocked.

beginning sounds like a battle cry and he says Valhalla here I come which is a “heaven for warriors” the Norse God Odin in the form of a Raven collects the souls of fallen warriors who are deemed worthy and carries them to Valhalla (I watched Vikings lol)

This song is the theme song in Marvel's Thor: Ragnarok movie......Great song.....the song is on Led Zeppelin 2 which was their second album.
Actually it’s the first track on their third album. But an apropos song for that movie!

This was about the Viking raids and eventual conquering of much of Anglo Saxon England before it was a United country. At the time there were a number of smaller Anglo Saxon kingdoms. After the Norse invasions most of those kingdoms were conquered, except Mercia and Wessex. The Vikings controlled most of Northern and Eastern England, an area known as Danelaw. The Wessex king Alfred the Great kept them at bay. His son Edward and daughter Aethelflaed eventually won back major parts of England and his grandson, Aethelstan became the first King of all the English. There are many English names that came from the Norse. Most if not all names ending in “ton”or”son” are from the Vikings, as an example.

There is a video of them performing this live in Australia but it is matched with a live sound performance from the USA. It's worth a watch. It has the feel of going back in time.
