I am with you about preferring to dine solo. Although I might decide to join someone I have just met for lunch or dinner, that has to be my decision. I will not submit to obligatory togetherness! If they could not accommodate me alone in a restaurant I would dine in my cabin! Yes, I am antisocial! Thank you for the video

Wonderful video !! Thanks to Joel for his review. I personally love Amawaterways in every way. But the only Viking cruise I've been on is an ocean cruise. So not a fair comparison. My personal opinion is you can't go wrong with either Ama or Viking. Both tops in every way, each have things they excel in but both very good !!!!
How true. Viking ads proudly shout out, First on Ocean, First on River. The seating on Viking eliminates them for me.And additional included excursions on AMA is a big plus. Thanks for watching, Chip

Agree 100% about the dining situation on Viking. That was one of the reasons we booked one of the 2 Explorer Suites for our next cruise with Viking. The Explorer Suite is the only room where you can get room service.

Great recap - AMA and Viking both have great products. Not sure how full your AMA cruise was - our Viking cruises have typically been sold to capacity and as a result the dining room and lounge tend to be pretty crowded and in some cases the lounge was standing room only during port talks. On our AMA cruises there were less passengers and I found the dining room and lounge to be much less crowded and more relaxing.

Sheila, nice music selection for this video's intro and viewers' anticipation. This was a great comparison between the two lines. I have never (at least, not yet) been on Viking, but did an AMA cruise during the Christmas holidays between Basel and Amsterdam in 2019; a great time, ship, staff, tours. One question for Joel regarding his 21-day river cruise: would he do another 21-day cruise, or is that length his limit? There are cruises now (including AMA) that do multiple rivers and boats, but I am not sure I want to spend that long (or even 21-days) on a small boat.
Just asked, Joel, since we are in egypt on a family trip. His trip with Viking was many rivers and epic.If there was similar but other countries, yes he would. He said, definitely not a long France one because river trips are basically thru wine country.
Was the wine locally sourced?
